Last night we got to finally see who the winner on the ranch and the winner at home was in the Biggest Loser Couples was. Of course there were a lot of recaps and lots of waiting to find out who was going to lose the biggest percentage weight.
I always like the finale of the Biggest Loser because we get to see exactly how the prople looked before and are surprised at how the look now, last night was no exception. Allison said that there was six weeks from the time that the final four left the ranch and last night.
First off was deciding who will be in the finals along with Ali and Kelly. Allison said that there was a difference of only 100,000 votes which to me sounds like a landslide but anyway, Roger stayed and Mark was relegated to the B team, the at home guys who were competing for $100,000.
So who were the winners?
Well Bernie, the guy that sacrificed himself without realizing it would happen ended up winning the at home portion of the show. Unbelievably he only won it by one pound over Mark. And by the way Mark you should shave off that patchy beard. The one person that was missing was Big Paul who apparently has some kind of health problems that we will need to track down. Paul did lose a lot of weight.
For the final weigh in Ali beat Roger who beat Kelly. Kelly looked great and I did not do the math but Roger and Ali must have lost 20 pounds each in those 6 weeks. 20 pounds in 6 week would be gret for most people but these guys have all lost a lot of weight already.
So now a girl has finally won the Biggest Loser, my wife thought that this was a bit of a crutch kind of thing to win, first woman biggest loser but it is a landmark for the show.
Kelly looked really great and even though she had a wrecked back I think that she would have had a lot of trouble beating Ali or Roger just becasue they both got their weight incredibly low. Ali was down to 122 pounds and had her weight I thought a little too low but most people after the show seem to find a more comfortable weight. Roger lost a lot of weight and was wearing really skinny jeans. I was really amazed at how much Roger lost at home in the final 6 weeks.
Once the show ended I realized that this season was probably the best one yet. I thought the couples idea would work well with people pushing their loved ones and friends and that is exactly what happened. One of the great things this season as well was the great mental game that was really brought out, how people react to low weight loss, how people hide behind their weight and how people that are overweight do not want to fail so they just don’t try.
I am looking forward to the next season next fall. Again we will have some kind of couples type biggest Loser but I wish that the producers of the show could get it down to an hour or so a week or even two one hour episodes. The show drags out my Tuesday night and it is hard to find the time to watch it being so long. I am hoping that we see lots of these people again over the next few months and can’t wait until fall for the next bunch of people.
