I just watched the Biggest Loser and they had Dave from Mens Fitness on. In a challenge tonight it was a better food choice type challenge The contestants were supposed to be choosing one food over the other.
Multigrain bagel with light cream cheese vs a McDonald’s style have and Egg McMuffin
OK, I like the Egg McMuffin lots. Thesy are yummy and greasy and not good for you and neither is the bagel. The Egg McMuffin was deemed to be better but man that is a lot fo calories
Burritos vs 18 light beers
We all know that burritos are not really good for you and they were apparently a better choice than 18 light beers but come on. The kicker was that 17 light beers would have been better. Would either of these be a healthy choice? Beer will slow you metabolism, the Burritos have protein but are really fatty.
Calories are not the only thing that matters for healthy eating. Watch the carbs, watch the fat!
Then to make things worse the trainers tip from Bob Harper was to eat Dark Chocolate. Again I love chocolate but isn’t it a bit irresponsible to be touting the wonders of dark chocolate a couple of days before Halloween?
I am still watching the show on the PVR right now but just had to comment on that.
Thanks for visiting. To get started why not subscribe to the 21 day fitness plan at the top of this page. Look in the red box, it is right there.. Thanks Bill

Well last night was fun to watch but for anyone that did not tune in because of the presidential debates just be aware that the Biggest Loser is on for the last hour tonight. I guess they could not cram in a two hour show last night so they just split it up.
The highlight last night? Apparently there is a certain amount of homework that the people are sopposed to do on the ranch. An hour and a half of cardio in the morning to be exact! Anyway Jillians team was not doign there “homework” and she freaked out. Screaming, swearing, calling her team losers. Jillian pointed out that past winners had to be dragged out of the gym and these guys are lazy.
Jillian is really emotional and just watching her freak out reminded me of when she was swearing at the system last year in a weight in where one of the girls was killing it and did not lose much weight.
Did you catch it? It was very dramatic and completely over the top. I would love to see Bob Harpers take on it.
The weigh-in tonight on the Biggest Loser Families promises to be a surpise as well, it looked like someone came up with a 0 pound loss.

I have been watching the Biggest Loser Families every week for the last few weeks but I have not been posting about it at all for some reason. I wondered why and thought I would post to the blog to answer my own question.
Well in watching this season I have been enjoying the Biggest Loser and think that all of the characters are great and interesting to watch. I think that the producers of the show are really doing a good job this season to really round out the characters and I like them all, well maybe not Ed so much he seems to be a bit cocky and not as friendly as the others. Last year we had a great time watching Biggest Loser Couples and I think that as a season went it was really educational, entertaining and had a bit of drama that made it lots of fun to watch. Tomorrow, Tuesday September 16th the next season of Biggest Loser Families starts and I am again really excited to watch and blog about it.
This year there are eight teams of two and to add a bit of confusion there are four teams of husbands and wives and four teams of parent and child. The trainers again this year are Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper.
This year the Biggest Loser site has a lot of info on the team members as well as a little bio and the starting weight for each participant. Also they are letting us know that the teams are split up with Bob Harper training the husband and wife teams and Jillian Michaels training the parent and child teams. Read the rest of this entry »

Just looking though the fall season shows and saw that the Biggest Loser is coming back, and soon.
Biggest Loser Families will be starting up on September 16th on NBC. Here is what Allison Sweeney has to say about the new season:
“Something that strikes my heart very closely is the parents and their kids, and how parents take responsibility for being the role model that brought their child to this point and seeing how they deal with, ‘Okay, I’m sort of part of why you’re here. I’m part of the problem, now let’s both be part of the solution,’” she told reporters. “Obviously emotions run high and feelings go extremely deep in all the people involved.”
This season will pit husbands and wives against parents and kids. Helping the participants move forward will be Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels, who will reprise their trainer roles for the crop of sixth-season contestants.
And to add to the drama Allison Sweeney will be having her next child sometime during this upcoming season.

Two days and two Biggest Loser stories. Nurse.com has an interview with Kelly from last seasons Biggest Loser Couples. If you remember Kelly really struggled to take off the weight and make the changes that she needed but ended up coming in third and was a real inspiration.
In the interview Kelly talks about her ex husband Paul and the changes that she had to make. Also very interesting is how her weight loss will change the way she works and how patients can benefit from losing weight.
The article is a very interesting read for everyone interested in how Kelly is doing as well as giving us a bit of an insight into the nursing and healthcare industry.

Biggest Loser coach Bob Harper is great. I just read a great little story about hiw roots and history before he was a coach and trainer on the Biggest Loser. The Globe and Mail newspaper has the story.
Apparently Bob Harper has a new book out, called “Are you ready!” and he may be plugging the book a bit so I am hoping that we will be seeing a few more interesting interviews and insights.
Watch around and see if you can see more Bob Harper sightings in the news and I am sure soon enough we will start seeing commercials on TV for the next season of the Biggest Loser.

Last night we got to finally see who the winner on the ranch and the winner at home was in the Biggest Loser Couples was. Of course there were a lot of recaps and lots of waiting to find out who was going to lose the biggest percentage weight.
I always like the finale of the Biggest Loser because we get to see exactly how the prople looked before and are surprised at how the look now, last night was no exception. Allison said that there was six weeks from the time that the final four left the ranch and last night.
First off was deciding who will be in the finals along with Ali and Kelly. Allison said that there was a difference of only 100,000 votes which to me sounds like a landslide but anyway, Roger stayed and Mark was relegated to the B team, the at home guys who were competing for $100,000.
So who were the winners? Read the rest of this entry »

I am looking forward to the Biggest Loser Couple finale tonight. There are lots of questions to be answered and the evening should have a lot of great reflections on the changes that everyone on the show has made. I know that it was only a few weeks ago that we got to see the second big weigh-in when both Mark and Ali were welcomed back to the ranch as the Biggest Loser voted off…or whatever we are supposed to call it, but there is a lot of time between that weight-in and tonights live weigh-in.
I don’t know who will be the one being voted back on to the finale tonight but according to our on blog poll it looks like Roger would be voted off by the fans on the NBC website. I have some questions that I am looking forward to seeing answered tonight during the finale. Read the rest of this entry »

In an interesting twist on the Biggest Loser Roger lost 15 pounds to become the biggest loser ever on campus with a 142 pound weight loss so far, and then Mark lost 11 pounds enough to make it to the finale of the Biggest Loser this season.
So I thought…
It ended up that the girls Ali and Kelly lost double digits as well and ended up in the top two. Kelly lost 93 pounds on campus and Ali lost 99 pounds on campus. Actually Ali has lost more on campus (even though she was off campus half the season) then any women ever on the show. So with the guys Mark and Roger in the last two places the girls were going to bring back Mark to the finale knowing that they would not have much of a chance to beat Roger.
Well America gets to choose instead of the girls choosing who is the third person in the finale. Vote now at the Biggest Loser site to choose your pick, the results will be announced in the first five minutes of next weeks finale.
On Blog Biggest Loser Poll
Who do you think should be in the finale Roger or Mark? I have setup a poll on the right side of the blog here below my smiling picture. Just vote for either Roger or Mark and you will see the current results right after you vote.
