Last nights episode of Biggest Loser was a lot of fun as Allison,Bob Harper, Jillian Michaels, and all the remaining contestants went to Washington DC on a working vacation.
The Biggest Loser camera crew must have really enjoyed this trip I was thinking because they tried their best to get great video of all the landmarks during the show including a great end to a challenge doing steps ups in front of the capitol building.
There were lots of chances for the show to pump itself up with the idea that the Biggest Loser is a movement that is changing the way people live and I really do believe that the show does do that. Read the rest of this entry »

Have you seen the Biggest Loser armband ? I had noticed this about three seasons or so ago and had to google to find out what it was but it is actually kinda neat.
You have seen this armband I am sure. It is a piece of equipment that allows people to track at all times what kind of workout output they are really doing as well as be able to track all of this on a computer.
The contestants on the The Biggest Loser use the bodybugg armband, which measures the number of calories that they burn, aiding in their weight loss efforts.
The Bodybugg, a device about the size of an MP3 player, is worn on the upper arm and tracks the calories burned by the wearer with 92% accuracy. The bodybugg program is the product of the Apex Fitness Group, a division of 24 Hour Fitness which is of course one of the show’s primary sponsors. Read the rest of this entry »

So the season is underway with the classic long 2 hours of TV that we are used to. Shouldn’t they make the show shorter so that people can get their exercise?
Anyway they had a bit of an intro of each of the people and then the first challenge was running a mile to see who would start with immunity, not good for a couple of people as Moe and Tracy had to be arilifted to the hospital.
There are real gut wrenching stories as I was saying in my last post but all of these people realize that this is a real final chance for them to make a change to live a healthy and longer life. Read the rest of this entry »

Well this kinda just ran into my TV Schedule. Biggest Loser starts tonight and amazingly we are season 8 of the show now.
As usual there are all sorts of new heart wrenching stories of people that are just looking for a second chance.
It always seems strange when the show starts because the contestants are not yet TV savvy and seem to just speak with their emotions and don’t know how to make a sound bite yet.
Anyway the show is just starting on my TV so maybe I will post about this tonight or else tomorrow at latest.
But wow there is drama even in the first few minutes of the season!

We have all seen Allison Sweeney gaining her baby belly over the last couple of seasons of the Biggest Loser but today I ran across the first pic of mom and baby on the People Magazine site.
When the time came for mom-of-two Alison Sweeney to shed the weight she gained while pregnant with daughter Megan Hope, 5 months, she drew from her experience as host of NBC’s The Biggest Loser.
“I’ve learned a lot about nutrition and how to count my calories” as a result of the show, she told PEOPLE at the second birthday party for pal Nancy O’Dell’s daughter, Ashby, over the weekend.
Losing the pregnancy weight with a Wii
Of course, juggling a diet and exercise routine with two small children and a busy career is tough, but Sweeney says she found a great ally in the EA Sports Active package for the Nintendo Wii. Read the rest of this entry »

OK, so now it is the next day and I do not want to spoil for anyone but you should have watched the Biggest Loser Couples finale already. So here it is…Helen won!
The final three were Helen Phillips, Tara Costa and America chose Mike Morelli over his dad.
As usual you did not have to watch the season to watch the finale with all the kicked off contenstents on the show and weighing in.
First of course were the highlights of all the people this season and then the weight ins. In a big surprise the first guy kicked off, Jerry Hayes. losing a pile of weight, 177 pounds, and taking home $100,000 as the biggest at home loser.
That part itself took a couple of hours
Then the final three, with intros and how they got here which was really nice to see. This season has seemed long and it was nice to see all the transformations from beginning to last night. Read the rest of this entry »

NBC will be finally ending this marathon couple of seasons of the Biggest Loser tonight. Last fall they started Biggest Loser and then after a couple of weeks or so break came right back with Biggest Loser Couples. Tonight the finale will be three hours (I guess Celebrity Apprentice set the finale expectation), and we will once again see another person crowned Biggest Loser.
If you remember back to last week both Tara Costa and Helen Phillips made it to the finals and now Mike Morelli, and his dad Ron Morelli (never seen those last names before, It took time to find them) are in the America votes section to see who makes it to the final three.
I am pretty excited to see what happens tonight, I am a big fan of Tara as she seems to work so hard and never gives up no matter what the challenge is. I am surprised that Helen made it so far since she did not seem to have any big weeks, kind of stayed under the radar and kept losing week after week. And of course Mike who has been amazing in his real determination, showing his emotions and working until he was sick. Ron, I am not so sure about, since about the third week Ron’s only reason for being on the show has been to protect Mike and get him to the finals and with his health problems he has not had much of a chance to lose as much weight as he could have with a healthy body.
Who do you want to see win? Are you excited about the Biggest Loser Couples finale tonight or are you kind of burnt out from the show being so many hours each season? It will all be over in a few more hours
Oh, and they just started filming the next season of Biggest Loser!

Last night we watched the latest episode of Biggest Loser couples off of the PVR. Good episode especially because this late in the season you feel like you know the characters really well and it is interesting to watch the interactions.
You might remember last week that Kristin barely stayed in and that was against Laura who could not even walk. The reason it seems is because Jillians team is trying to kick out all of Bobs team but last night it kinda looked like it was because people are afraid of Kristen being the biggest threat to win against against Mike. And what about Tara?
Who would win the Biggest Loser Couples Today?
I thought it would be interesting to see what kind of percentage weight loss the players are at now. It may seem like it is late in the game but every season there are giant weight losses at home after everyone leaves the ranch. Here is where everyone is that is left. Read the rest of this entry »

Wow, I watched last weekd Bigggest Loser on the weekend and I expect we will see a lot of tears tonight as the teams start to really start to have to rely on their team mates. There really was a lot of stuff going on last week on the Biggest Loser and just as a recap lets look at what is going to have to happen tonight. Usually I have been hating the badly edited 2 hour episodes, especially when thecreators of the shows think that the Jello and Pizza commercials made us forget the last half an hour of TV and have to recap everything after a commercial break. But tonight will be an interesting Biggest Loser episode.
Black Team – The black team had a 24 hour luxury day where the got masssages, drank, ate fatty food, smoked and carried on till late in the night. We all though they would pat the price but they kind of didn’t andwon the weigh-in although they just barely won it. I think america hated the black team. There are millions of people across the US that would love to put their lives on hold for just a few weeks to unconditionally change their lives and here they were just taking it for granted and then trying to keep it a secret from Jillian.
Tara – Tara is a superstar in my books, nothing gets her down. Well last week Tara lost nothing. She was shocked and crying but it could have had a lot to do with what happened when she was away eating and drinking with the reast of the Black team. She will have to regroup and see if that one night really was the only problem.
Jillian – Will continue being Jillian, she got pissed at the black team for being out and really reemed them out. But, she has to build some kind of a bridge between the Samoans, Sione and Filipe, who trained with Bobs Blue team after Jillian ignored them in the training the week before.
Filipe – Well Filipe is mad and trying to train with Bob again but really Jillina is his trainer. This will need to be resolved and he and Jillian will probably have to have it out again. What the hell happened last week. That was some real drama. Filipe and Sione were eating badly and I guess he reacted badly to being attacked by Jillian for it but he snapped and screamed at her for not training him and left. Going to be fun to watch the end of this maybe.
Aubrey – After some klind of strange double cross Aubreys sister Mandi voted herself out so that the Black team would not vote out her sister Aubrey. Tonight poor Aubrey will need to see how it is to train by herself without her sister.
The rest of the teams? I am sure they will cause some drama of their own.

There is a whole bunch of networks of bloggers out there that cover like subjects. Some cover Social Media (I follow them), some cover techie stuff (I follow them) and of course some cover fitness issues (I follow them too).
One of the blogs that I follow is a social media blog written by a fellow named Patrick out in Ohio. Social media for those that aren’t aware is everything from Twitter to Facebook and blogs in between so it really is a market that covers how to find people on the internet more than anything.
Anyway Patrick blogged today about how he is trying out for the Biggest Loser this weekend. since I do follow his blog I wanted to shout out a Good Luck to him, you can click through and read a bit of his story as well.
