I have had these pictures sitting on my computer for a while now but have not been sure if I should really post them or not.
One of the girls at my work calls Dan on the Biggest Loser Chris. I never knew why until I asked and she said “You know, Chris from Family Guy” I almost fell off of my chair I laughed soooo hard.
Anyway Dan does not look much like Chris from Family Guy so much anymore. You can really see from this picture just how much weight that Dan has lost, I thinkĀ he is almost at 100 pounds lost so far and shows no real signs of slowing down. In fact I think that Dan has a real good shot at winning.
The teams on the Biggest Loser Couples are getting smaller, or should I say the group now that the teams are done and it is an individual sport now.
Stay tuned tomorrow to the show. The website for the Biggest Loser says that there is going to be someone coming back that has already been eliminated. Who will it be? It would be nice to see Jennifer come back after her grandfather or dad? Decided not to stay and basically gave up, or maybe Amanda, who’s husband Neil was lazy and gave up. We will have to wait and see.

I remember when I was younger and I never did cardio. I would go into the gym and do weights Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and just do weights on a 2 on one off schedule. I would do chest, shoulders, and triceps one day and back, biceps and legs the second day. And again I did no cardio.
I did so little cardio that there was a woman bodybuilder in the gym that we would talk to and she said that she did 2 hours of cardio a day. I was shocked that this was even possible for someone that lifted weights to do.
times for me have changed a bit. Now I do three sets per muscle group three times a week so my workouts are only around 45 minutes or so and I do get cardio on my mountain bike or indoors on the elliptical trainer. I believe that now my workouts are much more focussed and I listen to my body more so that I do not risk overtraining like I really did back then. Read the rest of this entry »

Well the Blue team won the weigh in last week and they got a weekend trip to las Vegas which led to some trouble lots of fun and a losing weigh in.
There were two uncomfortable times in the show last night, first there was Dan the young 21 year old with long blond hair strumming on a guitar and singing. First of all I only think of Dan as the guy that is losing weight, not as a young Bob Dylan. Anyway the trip to Las Vegas was great and was fun to watch, except first, I can’t believe Dan and Roger going out until 6 o’clock in the morning. Wow, the ranch must really be weighing on them to stay our soooo late. The trip looked like fun though. Second, I still can not believe that the guys all got tattoos. And third I was shocked that Dan did not work out at all but still lost the most out of anyone on his team. Read the rest of this entry »

I always lose track of the episodes as the Biggest Loser season goes on. I finally got to watch last night and wow there was lots of drama. Bob kicked Jillians but in the reverse stair climbing contest. Jillian teared up as Bob picked teams and there was another wrigleys gum product placement.
Anyway they really seemed to pack a lot into this latest episode. The 8 teams are now just 2 teams. The Blue team was chosen by Bob Harper after winning a reverse escalator challenge and the black team were the four teams left over for Jillian. It seemed a little unfair the way he teams were picked. Maybe the producers of the show want Bill to win this season but we all know by now how the Biggest Loser picks a winner, based on percentage weight loss. The fatter you start the higher the percentage weight loss at the end when you are skinny. Bob of course picked the heaviest teams. Read the rest of this entry »

Poor Bob Harper, I remember when Biggest Loser first started he was everyones favorite trainer. Bob always wants to be friends with the contestents, he cares how they feel and most of all Bob really wants to see everyone do well and feels hurt himself when people struggle with weight loss.
Well this year it looks like the tables have turned. Although the Biggest Loser couples would not have seen this last season when Bobs team did not do well for the first time since the Biggest Loser started but the producers of the Biggest Loser moved even farther into showing Bob Harper teaching the crew about Yoga and meditation. . Bob says that once you are in control of your mind then you will be able to lose the weight. I totally agree with Bob but it seems this seasons team has had a bit of a shift in focus. Everyone wanted to train with mean old Jillian. Read the rest of this entry »

I finally watched last nights Biggest Loser tonight. Wow I think this is the best season yet. The show is so much more emotional with family members, couples, friends and in general people that have loved ones and have also left loved ones at home.
Often we look at the Biggest Loser as people turning their lives around but in this episode I really got the sense the these people are in a race to save their lives. The reward challenge gave four teams the opportunity to call home and my wife cried through the whole segment of people calling home.
The strange and irritating part of the show happened tonight. The food challenge. Whoever thought of this idea was sick and twisted and can not be part of the show but let’s set the stage. Everyone is craving bad food and know why they are not eating it. The show assembles every bad food that the people would like to have and then tells them that whoever eats the most will get $5,000. It is hard to turn down that much money and why should you get a reward for eating food that is obviously bad? I haven’t been able to figure this out since they first did it in the Biggest Loser Season 1 and they have continued it every season since then.
The brown team tonight was kicked out and it was very sad. As I said before the show is very emotional this season and everyone really and truly felt bad for kicking out the team that is really nice, fighting hard and still struggling over the team that has a guy who’s previous three generations of his family have died by 51. Man that was a tough call and everyone really felt it.
One of the guys, Neill, (what is with Neils on this show) was really showing how lazy overweight people can be. We all know that some people are lazy and get fat that way but lots of thin people are lazy too so let’s not bother with the stereotypes here. The fact is Neill has apparently failed aat almost everything that he has done so it is really hard for him to give it his all when his reflex says
“Take it easy and then you will have an easy excuse for failure”
He confronts it and loses pretty good tonight.
The weight losses for many of the people were bad and so it usually is on the second week of the show, the water weight goes in the first week and then the muscle is being gained as quickly as the fat is going in the second week so we should all expect that.
I can’t wait for next week.

Biggest Loser Couples starts next week on NBC just a couple of weeks after the fourth season of hte Biggest Loser ended. I was up early this morning and finally got a chance to look at some ofthe articles and pages from the Biggest Loser site to see what this will be all about.
Biggest Loser Couple format
First of all it looks like the show will be a bit shorter then a regular season of the Biggest Loser, there are only 10 teams instead of what we would expect 18 or so. I have not looked at any kind of scheduling except for the first episode being right on New Years day for two hours. There will be no show competition I would expect that day and everyone with a weight loss New Years resolution would be a prime candidate to watch the two hour premiere. Read the rest of this entry »

Well last night was the finale of this seasons version of the Biggest Loser and it was a night of celebration and motivation not a night to watch challenges, gameplay or workouts and not very many tips either. I taped the show as always becasue two hours is too long for any TV show and they use lots and lots of commercials for filler.
The show was broken into two parts, first all of the kicked off players did a weight in to see who would win the $100,000 for the also rans and then the last four did their weight in to see who would be crowned Biggest Loser and wind $250,000.
As they introduced all of the players except the last 4 we were amazed at home at how much weight everyone seemed to lose. There were many ways that these people could have just given up and then not attended the final show but everyone was there and everyone lost a ton of weight. Read the rest of this entry »

I know that I was mad at Neil and was boycotting the Biggest Loser because of the way that he gamed the game but last night I sat down with my wife and we watched the Biggest Loser. Last nights episode was the makeover episode and the biggest losers went onto the set of “Days of our Lives”. It was fun to watch since some of the people on the show really do follow that soap but I have never seen it at all except Allison Sweeney on a commercial one day for the show.
I was shocked at how much weight these guys look like they have lost. They are all looking really slim and Neil (who I still hate for the water drinking incident) seems to be now losing more than anyone. One of the big changes that I always notice on the Biggest Loser is how all of the people look younger every week the more weight that they lose.
Kay got kicked off the show and I think it was kind of ineveitable but i am not really sure how the strategies work on the show. As we know she has lost the most weight percentage-wise but she would not be losing much each weight anymore I think. Last night they brought Kay back and after 3 months at home she lost another 18 pounds. That is fantastic! She is really slim and healthy looking and espeically when you compare how she looked when the show started.
I guess I will be back on the Biggest Loser bandwagon now. The show is fun to watch and it seems that no one is holding any grudges for game play.
One other thing that I did notice last night was the stupid product endorsements. Jillian is walking and talking and out of no where she says
“Sometimes you don’t need a snack, Just have a piece of Wrigleys Gum” and she pulls out a pack of gum.
Drives me crazy.
