The second half of this weeks Biggest Loser Couples was on a couple of days ago. I haven’t written much about the Biggest Loser this season but tonight really was an interesting episode.
In the first half that took place the night before, the teams had a challenge where they had to lie in mud and then stand up and touch a Biggest Loser tag hanging above their head. Oh, and they had to do this 100 times as fast as they could. In the end this was just a way to pick teams so that we would have our final blue vs black teams.
Just as in past seasons Bob Harpers team is the blue team and Jillian Micheals team is the black team. Jillian was shocked at the changes to the team and called it that Bob was going to be heartbroken, the teams are not completely different then they were for the trainers and everyone has trouble adjusting. Big episode of Biggest Loser last night. There were lots of highlights and not as much game playing as we have seen in the past couple of seasons. All the people this season look really excited to be there and there seems to be a lack of alliances that I saw so far.
First everyone was really excited to be on the show and they got to the ranch and without coaches tried their first workout (with Bob and Jillian watching on TV). Just after they started trying to workout Bob and Jillian gave it up and went into the gym, prompting excitement and the old guy to collapse and be taken to hospital.
Jerry the old guy
The old guy by the way is Jerry. Jerry is in his 60s and started at 369 pounds and in the first week he lost 25 pounds. I thought that was the most amazing story of the show last night. Read the rest of this entry »

I know that we just watched the finale of the Biggest Loser Families a couple of weeks back or so but there is already another Biggest Loser starting tonight. Biggest Loser Families.
I think this is the second go round for Biggest Loser Couples as we had one a few seasons ago as well. My wife bought a prevention magazine a couple of weeks ago and they had bios in there for all of the new contestants.
Believe it or not this is the 7th season of the Biggest Loser. It seems like not too long ago that the first season started with all of the excitement of people wondering what it was about.
This season will start with 11 teams of two including one team, Jerry and Estella, that are the oldest in the shows history. Again this season Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels will be the trainers.
If you just can’t wait to see the new people tonight you can see the rundown on the NBC Biggest Loser site.

Biggest Losers having a baby" src="http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2009/news/090112/marty_wolff.jpg" alt="" width="240" height="320" />My wife starts her day looking at the headlines on the People Magazine website and this morning saw this article about to Biggest Losers having a baby….and there is a picture of how they look now.
Marty Wolff and his wife Amy met during the third season of NBC’s The Biggest Loser in 2007, got married in March 2008, and now are expecting their first child in July 2009, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.
Although they had been talking about having kids during their courtship, “After we got married, at a certain point, we let nature take its course,” Amy says. “We are very excited!”
The Wolffs, who live in Omaha, Neb., run a weight loss and self-improvement program called Reality Wellness. They also help organize local competitions, such as Shape Up Omaha, focused on getting folks fit.
“We take a token of what we learned on The Biggest Loser and applied it,” says Amy. “We’ve helped 250 people this past year lose 5,000 pounds!”

So tonight we sat down and watched the finale of Biggest Loser Families. My daughter, wife, and I had a great time watching everyone looking great after there big losses.
The show started with the decision that America made between Heba and Ed to see which half of the couple was going to be the third finalist.
After the decision that america made they markched out the people that were kicked of the Biggest Loser Families four at a time until there was no more skinny people left. Every time that they brought out another four people we were more shocked at how fantastic they all looked. After the weigh in decided who was the winner of the $100,000 at home trained prize they moved on to showing us the transformations of the final two that we had not already seen.
Now for the spoilers, click the “Read the rest of this story” link to see who won.

I have put up a poll on the right side of the site to see who you think will win the Biggest Loser tomorrow night.
Vicky, Ed, Heba, or Michelle, who do you think will win?

I missed the last episode of Biggest Loser Couples. I had the episode on the PVR and while out of town my wife and daughter watched it and deleted it….I am not too heartbroken.
I thought that in two hours they were going to kick someone off the show and get down to three people competing at home to see who would be the Biggest Loser and win the $250,000 Biggest Loser grand prize.
No one got kicked off, just tow people are in the competition for the third spot, Ed and his wife Heba.
So what are the chances that each of the final four has of winning?
Ed started Biggest Loser weighing 335 pounds now down 83 pounds to 252 pounds or 24.8%
Heba started Biggest Loser weighing 294 pounds now down 84 pounds to 210 pounds or 28.6%
Vicky started Biggest Loser weighing 246 pounds now down 76 pounds to 170 pounds or 30.9%
Michelle started Biggest Loser weighing 242 pounds now down 80 pounds to 162 pounds or 33.1% Read the rest of this entry »

Last night I again watched a couple of episodes of the Biggest Loser back to back. We are not keeping up with the Biggest Loser very well this season so we will scan throough a couple of shows at a time in about 2 or 2 and a half hours instead of four hours that the show actually takes. When watching the Biggest Loser off of the PVR I find that my wife is very aggressive at fast forwarding through the boring stuff and I am maybe not so good at that.
Oh, and Extra Gum is a great alternative to having a snack.
Anyway I found it interesting that After Amy voted off Vicky’s hubby Brady that she was in the doghouse but when given a chance to get rid of Vicky she didn’t….and it got her kicked out by Vicky the very next week. Read the rest of this entry »

I just watched the Biggest Loser and they had Dave from Mens Fitness on. In a challenge tonight it was a better food choice type challenge The contestants were supposed to be choosing one food over the other.
Multigrain bagel with light cream cheese vs a McDonald’s style have and Egg McMuffin
OK, I like the Egg McMuffin lots. Thesy are yummy and greasy and not good for you and neither is the bagel. The Egg McMuffin was deemed to be better but man that is a lot fo calories
Burritos vs 18 light beers
We all know that burritos are not really good for you and they were apparently a better choice than 18 light beers but come on. The kicker was that 17 light beers would have been better. Would either of these be a healthy choice? Beer will slow you metabolism, the Burritos have protein but are really fatty.
Calories are not the only thing that matters for healthy eating. Watch the carbs, watch the fat!
Then to make things worse the trainers tip from Bob Harper was to eat Dark Chocolate. Again I love chocolate but isn’t it a bit irresponsible to be touting the wonders of dark chocolate a couple of days before Halloween?
I am still watching the show on the PVR right now but just had to comment on that.

Well last night was fun to watch but for anyone that did not tune in because of the presidential debates just be aware that the Biggest Loser is on for the last hour tonight. I guess they could not cram in a two hour show last night so they just split it up.
The highlight last night? Apparently there is a certain amount of homework that the people are sopposed to do on the ranch. An hour and a half of cardio in the morning to be exact! Anyway Jillians team was not doign there “homework” and she freaked out. Screaming, swearing, calling her team losers. Jillian pointed out that past winners had to be dragged out of the gym and these guys are lazy.
Jillian is really emotional and just watching her freak out reminded me of when she was swearing at the system last year in a weight in where one of the girls was killing it and did not lose much weight.
Did you catch it? It was very dramatic and completely over the top. I would love to see Bob Harpers take on it.
The weigh-in tonight on the Biggest Loser Families promises to be a surpise as well, it looked like someone came up with a 0 pound loss.
