The clock is ticking and you need to plan or time will run out.
What the hell am I talking about?
Well this weekend my wife went out of town with my daughter and my son and I have a guys weekend together. Not like back in the 80’s though as my son is 5 years old. He is excited and having a good time with me and we have done some fun stuff.
But here is the thing. My son loves video games and would burn away the day playing if he was given the chance. How many of us are like this with other things in our life? What will you do today to make tomorrow better and still have you go to sleep proud of the way that you spent today? Read the rest of this entry »

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I thought it would be nice to dive a bit into some more productivity topics on the blog and have just found a great article that Merlin Mann at 43folders.com has put up.
It seems that Merlin and his site were featured in an NPR story last night (did you know that you can hear public radio on the internet) and so there have been lots of people going there today to learn more about Getting Things Done so he put up a post of the best articles that he has written about the subject of GTD. I have not read most of these either so I may be busy reading today.

Lifehack.org and Zenhabits tend to give me great ideas that I can use to improve my life on a daily basis. These two sites are not about making you fitter and healthier all of the time but are more about making all the parts of your life better.
Often the two sites write about the same types of things but in all cases the stories and articles are all very well filled out and full of tips that you can use everyday. I would like to start adding more of these kinds of articles but have not yet.
To get started in these kinds of articles I would like to offer a few that I have found great over the last little while that you can read and comment on.
How to get more out of your life.
Expand your mind and recover from brain rot
More effective skills at dealing with email.
10 Steps to becoming an email ninja
How to get more done and more important work done at work.
12 Steps closer to your ideal work day
What internal and external factors are holding your back.
Whats your sticking point
These are all great articles and the kind of info that is not health and fitness related but very important for going that next step in other area of your life. Read them and see what you think as well of them.

I am not sure how much i have written about getting things done but in essence Getting Things Done is a book about the batching of time and task to get the important things done in a shorter time and anything that has been left over can be turned into mini-projects that you can track as you are doing them.
Anyway, even if you do not use Getting Things Done you can still use one of the pieces very easily and that is a weekending review of what has happened over the last week.
Lifehack.org has an expansion of the idea of looking back on Sunday night, or whenever you are doing a weekly review of what you did and gettingĀ ready for the next week. Here are 12 questions that you can ask yourself.
