Never eat fast food with your eyes closed, you will realize that those burgers are truly terrible tasting. Anyway There is a guy name Don Gorske, from Wisconsin and he claims to have eaten 23,000 Big Macs since 1972 having at least 2 every day. Don said he eats this many Big Macs, and eats them everyday, becasue his obsessive-compulsive disorder fueled his love for only Big Macs. He began eating the burgers on May 17, 1972, and has kept every receipt to prove his achievement. The 54-year-old has written a book about his experience after he became fascinated with the way the fast food chain tracks its customer numbers so he decided to track his own consumption. You would think that eating all of these Big Macs would make Don really fat that is what I expected but he is 6ft 2in tall and weighs 185 pounds and burns off the Big Macs by walking up to 10 miles a day. Each day he eats two Big Macs, which are made up of two beef patties, cheese and a special Mac sauce.
Don Gorske used to order fries every day in the 1980s but began to cut back in the 90s. He now limits himself to once a month. I myself think that the highlight of McDonalds is the fries but on the other hand they are really high in sodium (salt) and are made of deep fried fat. I will certainly never eat them everyday. Looking to make a change and lose some weight? I have reviewed the top diet on the internet and you can go and read over 200 comments people have made about why this diet has worked well for them, as well as some of the problems. I watch a TV show on this guy. I’ve also seen “Super Size Me” where the “30 Days” guy did a documentary on eating nothing but Mc D’s for 30 days and he had to super size it ever time they asked him if he wanted to. He had to stop before he finished based on Dr’s recommendation, or something.
Well, the real killer at McDonalds are the fries and soda – I mean it is difficult to understate how BAD fries and soda are. So I guess that he is eating the better portion of the McD’s meal (which is still pretty bad with high saturated fat content and processed garbage). The 10 miles a day of walking has probably saved him.
I am wondering what kind of long term health effects might have resulted from his big mac eating experience. Either way, I think the lack of diversity in his diet was suffering enough. I would be willing to bet that the only reason he could continue his big mac pursuits for so long was the continuous exercise. Good luck, Don. We’re all counting on you!
Hey Fitness Surfer, I do not remember this guy on Super size me but wasn’t that a great documentary. I really liked how real the guy was about his experience in eating all of the McDonalds although I could have probably been OK without the throwing up scene from eating too much on I think the third day.
Some people are just lucky with their metabolism. Recently here in London a guy was in the news that could eat anything he liked and still stayed thin. He literally had no fat, and ate loads of junk food. And his job was not active. He just had a supercharged metabolism. It goes to show that some people will find it harder to lose weight than others on genetic grounds alone.
Eating all those big macs is only unhealthy *if* he is affected by it. Maybe he is one of the lucky ones which have a very strong immune system and the body can cope with all that fat etc. Maybe his body processes it, and he is healthier than the average gym going, salad eating, fruit smoothie drinking fitness fanatic. Annoying if it is the case, but it could be true!
I don’t think mac eating may effect health, There might be false news.
I eat at McDonalds everyday, because it is near my work and convenient for my lunch break, and cheap too. I order from the dollar menu and get two salads a day (no dressing), which actually have dark green lettuce, carrots and whole baby tomatoes, and one hamburger, no cheese, for protien. Who knows, I may have a heart attack soon, but so far I’m hanging in there and can still do strenous work (I work from 12-15 hours each day), half sitting, half on my feet.
As for the ‘Supersize Me’ movie, that guy chose to eat all the junk on the menu to fulfil his movie propaganda agenda. But if I made a movie like that, choosing the following items from the menu, I probably would be very healthy after 30 days (actually I will be happy to make this movie – just contact me via my website and I will do it!):
So, here’s for our new movie, “DownSize Me”!…
Breakfast:
2 Orange Juices
2 McDonalds Apples and Nuts cups
Lunch:
2 side salads (no dressing)
2 chicken wraps, grilled, no sauce
1 Water and 1 iced coffee
Dinner:
1 Fish Filet sandwich
1 Fiesta Salad (no chicken or dressing)
1 Apple Pie
1 Coke or water
…not the ideal meal for taste, but not quite the crap that movie was feeding us, either. I could exercize and be pretty healthy on that diet, no?
to help you lose weight you need to exercise at least 60 minutes a day and eat helthy food like salads, fruits, and vegtables most definetly. i mean you can eat some fatty foods but its always good to make sure you dont get hooked and start eating it all the time. Also do not eat when you are depressed, or stressed, just only eat when you are hungry. also i know that this seems to be esier said than done but that is not true craving sugar or those fatty foods is a state of mind and all you need to do when you go to reach for those fries or piece of pie is tell yourself no and pull your hand away and reach for the salad.
