fat loss 4 Idiots – Will It Help You Lose Weight?

fat loss for Idiots is a site and diet that my wife had learned about from her stepmom. Initially I looked at the Fat Loss For Idiots website and saw that after clicking though a bunch of pages of information I found that the program was only $39.

As a fitness and health enthusiast I know that there are no easy ways out of losing weight so when I first saw all of the hype around fat loss for idiots I was of course initially skeptical.

I have scoured the internet looking for more information on the Fat Loss For Idiots program and would like to present this to you here so that you can make an informed decision when you visit the Fat Loss For Idiots site.

Lose Weight Fast with Fat Loss 4 Idiots?

Fat Loss for Idiots claims you can lose 9 pounds lost in 11 days. Wow, is this possible? You probably have your doubts but I know because I have seen it happen, with the right diet and exercise program you can lose weight and lose it quickly.

Over the last year or so I have received over 200 success stories from people just like you. You can see them below.

After that quick weight loss it is important that you continue eating according to the plan and get some exercise of any kind and you will continue losing weight. The way the diet cycles means that you should lose weight every week with no bad weeks at all.

What do I not like about Fat Loss for Idiots?fat loss for idiots width=

Fat Loss for Idiots may be getting a lot of support by a lot of people but it is not all perfect. In watching how people use the diet I have found that some people have real problems with fat Loss for Idiots. First of all there is the dreaded “fruit day” one day of the cycle you eat nothing but fruit. Many people do not like this even though we all know how good fruit is for us.

One other problem with Fat loss for idiots is that you are supposed to eat until satisfied. Don’t stop when you are hungry and do not overeat but just until satisfied. But how much is satisfied? I am not sure what to say about this. People like to have a measured amount of food and doing it yourself is a little stressful.

Fat Loss for Idiots Meal Plan

This is a great part of the fat loss for idiots program
Fat Loss for Idiots food is made up of lean proteins, fruit and vegetables, and the sources of fat come from whole foods (such as cottage cheese or eggs). There are some starchy carbohydrates (such as oats and pasta). The day is divided into 4 meals that should be eaten at a maximum of 2 1/2 hours apart. There is no calorie or carb counting, no limit on portion size – Fat Loss 4 Idiots says you “just eat short of being full”.

After the 11 day meal plan there is a 3 day “cheat” – where you get to eat whatever you want. Then you are back into the 11 day plan again.

The real difference between the fat loss for idiots plan and other plans is that the diet is purposely confusing your body so it never thinks it is starving. This is not a new meal program in that regard. Body for Life and other programs have long advocated confusing your body by having a day or more off of the diet so that you are in more control of how you eat. Fat Loss for Idiots does a good balance of this.

The meal plan is created by selecting from a list of preferred foods. These are then used to generate your meal plan.

Fat Loss for Idiots also includes a very extensive handbook that teaches you how to to eat, how not to eat and what is important in your goal of losing weight.

Exercise on Fat Loss 4 Idiots

Fat loss for idiots is a diet program. One thing and one thing only. The people that come up with the meal plans look at you as a user of the service as a person that is mainly sedentary.

Fat Loss for idiots recommends that you do get some exercise for additional weight loss. They encourage walking and other low intensity exercise of 30 minutes a day.

Fat Loss for Idiots – Is a Cheap Diet Program

Fat Loss For Idiots is a cheap diet. When you buy the diet is gives you access to an online diet generator as well as a diet workbook. Nutritionally it is a reduced carb diet that cycles macro-nutrient ratios (to try and trick your metabolism). It recommends common-sense weight loss principles (brisk walking, plenty of water, etc), and contains only whole foods (no processed foods, high-sugar foods, or supplements).

Here are some good reviews for the fat loss for idiots program:

“I started this diet 3 days ago, and have lost 2 and a half pounds so far.”

“I have now been on this diet for 11 days and have lost 6 and a half pounds. I am very happy with that, especially since I have not exercised or done the recommended walking.”

“On Fat loss for idiots I lost 7 pounds the first 11 days! I’m happy with that considering (like I mentioned) I had not done the suggested walking.”

The really nice thing about the fat loss for idiots diet is that it is cheap, and you buy your own food. No need to buy prepackaged food and expensive supplements which is the downfall that I always find with the more famous diets.

Fat Loss 4 Idiots – Will Work For Most People

There are a few things that seem to be really good in the fat loss for idiots diet and plan. Firstly the cheap nature means that you do not have to buy and create a complex meal plan. Secondly there is a cycling of your diet so that you keep your metabolism from working against you. And thirdly the diet is incredibly popular on the internet and the reason for that is that it seems to work for just about anyone.

Lastly there is a guarantee that this will work or you get your money back. I do not see any way that anyone can lose by at least trying Fat Loss 4 Idiots.

Who shouldn’t do Fat Loss for Idiots?

I have not been critical at all about Fat Loss for Idiots but I have to admit that there are some drawbacks to the diet.

If you exercise a lot Fat Loss for Idiots may not be for you. The diet itself is a diet designed to help you lose weight but people that get a lot of exercise, and hour or more a day, may find that the diet does not offer enough calories.

The diet itself can get a bit boring. There is a lot of repetition in the menu plan but most people seem to be OK with this as this is supposed to be a diet that helps you lose the weight that you want and then you ease off to a diet that you can live with for life.

I Really Recommend Fat Loss for Idiots

There is no magic behind Fat Loss for Idiots but really what it is a good focused meal plan and sensible exercise for beginners. Although this may not seem like much it is very important in my mind to be doing something that will give you the satisfaction that you are making the changes in YOUR life that will help you lose weight. This diet will work for you.

I am a big fan of Fat loss for idiots for no other reason than it is nice and simple, and it really does work, if you follow a diet that changes what you eat and moves you in a better direction nutritionally than what you are now.

And the simple fact is that at $39 fat loss 4 idiots is much cheaper than even a couple of weeks of Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers.

Buy the Fat Loss for Idiots program today and see where you are in a month.

One month from today, if you commit now, you can be 10-20 pounds lighter. Otherwise, in a month, if you do nothing you will be the same weight or even slightly more than you are today. The choice is yours.

    1. Mike says:

Hi Dynamo – 12% body fat might be a pretty good guess. Several years ago when I weighed 180 my body fat was right at 12%. I’m 5 10″. Don’t think you should have any problem dropping the 7-8 pounds. Most likely in one cycle. Good Luck!!

Janice – Keep it going girl. Looking like you might hit 5-6-7 lbs lost this cycle. Good job !!!

    2. Janice says:

I really hope so mike! I had a great day today but I’m not counting on any big loss tomorrow. Half a lb would do me just fine. I remember when I was doing weight watchers, I was so proud of losing 2 lbs a week so really, I’m thinking about it like that.

    3. Janice says:

Whoop whoop!!! I’m down another 2 lbs today!!!! For a grand today of 5.1 lbs on the morning of day 7!!!

Can you tell I’m excited? I really didn’t expect 2 lbs from yesterday at all but I am over the moon that frozen yogurt helped me lose that much weight!

I’m heading out for a nice walk now in a bit. I’m so revved up that I want to get out and move! I want to lose another lb tomorrow and another the next day, etc… I’m on a roll baby!!!

    4. Big Sexy says:

I’m at the end of day 2 (fruit day), it actually was better than the 1st day. I was a little late starting the program, so here we go. I’m trying not to get on the scale too soon. But I did take every body measurement possible just in case the scale disappoints me. I felt really good today I went walking and just enjoyed the weather.

Janice – Great Job!!! I can’t want for frozen yogurt day!

    5. BMI Formula says:

These are a great variety of things to mention. Losing weight is a difficult journey, but in the end it’s worth the effort.

    6. salena says:

End of day and I can’t believe iit but I have actually lost the nine pounds plus one extra. I am taking a few days off, but then plan to jump back on this coming Monday for cycle #2. If that goes well, that will be it for me, but I plan on continuing to eat four simple meals per day and to incorporate the massive water drinking and calorie shifting into daily living. Janice it’s great to hear that you have lost 5 lbs. Good luck to everyone else doing this. It is very simple to follow and you will probably save money on your grocery bill as I have. Happy Wed. Salena

    7. Mike says:

Janice – Great job girl!! Already a successful cycle I would say. Keep it going.

Salena – 10 lbs, awesome job. Enjoy your off days!!

Big Sexy – Yeah no need to step on the scale everyday. But if you follow the plan I think you will be pretty happy with the results when you do step on there.

One more day for me and I will be done with cycle #2.

      Mike

    8. Janice says:

Salena that’s amazing! Are you planning another cycle?

Mike, do you have a final count yet?

    9. Mike says:

Nope, tomorrow is my last day of the cycle. I’m going to wait until Friday morning to weigh myself.

    10. j dynamo says:

day 3 of my cycle. a bit tough. attended a workshop where lunch was provided. pizza and salad. i guess i could have done worse. i had two servings of salad and one slice of pizza, neither of which was on the meal list prescribed for day 3. the bright side: i didn’t eat 3 slices of pizza, as i normally would. more bright side. i worked out for 1.5 hours. 30 min walking on treadmill, 20 min of weight lifting, 14 min of elliptical and 16 min of speed intervals on treadmill. for tomorrow, i plan to follow the plan to the t.

    11. Janice says:

Down another .7 of a lb today for a total of 5.8 lbs on the morning of day 8. I’m pretty happy with that!

Today is veggie day. I hate veggie day. Dont’ get me wrong, I love vegetables but you aren’t supposed to eat potatoes, mushrooms, or onions. Those are my staples! It’s funny how different people find the fruit and veggies days hard. I find the fruit day very easy but the veggie day pretty hard. I treat today like fruit day and I have a sandwich for one meal. It’s a small cheat but it keeps me otherwise on track.

      Cheers today.

    12. Mike says:

I might have to do that on my next veggie day also Janice. Veggie day is so difficult for me. I’ll most likely find myself eating 3 salads and a sandwich for that day. :)

    13. Janice says:

Oh my God I don’t know what to eat!!! I had a salad already and a sandwich but now I don’t know what to eat. :( I have some low sodium V8 in the fridge… maybe I’ll make a meal out of those. It’s veggies.

      Man I hate veggie day.

    14. Mike says:

LOL I hear ya Janice. I went to the store and bought some of the frozen mixed veggies that you steam in the microwave in their own bag. But it’s just weird to me trying to eat a bowl of just veggies. I’m going to buy some broccoli that I can just dip into some lowfat dressing or something my next time around.

On a more pleasant note, if you are doing the frozen yogurt dessert as part of your plan, what frozen yogurt are you guys eating? I know some are not as healthy as others. I.E. some of the Ben & Jerry’s vs. some of the Haagen Daz. The Haagen Daz sorbet’s are lower in fat and calories but you don’t get the benefits of the yogurt cultures and stuff.

    15. Janice says:

I just went with the Breyers coffee flavor. The first time I did a cycle though I got Breyers cookie dough chunk frozen yogurt (which is AMAZING!!!) and still lost a lot of weight. It’s not about what kind it is, but wether or not you stop eating when you feel satisfied. The best thing this diet does it get us to recognize that point.

Had another salad. Want to eat my arm. :(

    16. Larry says:

I have done 1 cycle and lost 13 lbs, doing a second now, on day 5 down 4 lbs. For vegie day I make non-meat chile, tomatoes, jalapenos, pinto beans, green pepper and spices. Works much better for me than just salad.

    17. Diane says:

I haven’t posted in awhile, but here are my 2 cents on Mike and Janice’s posts—don’t shoot me if you don’t like these ideas.

      – Veggie day allows for pinto beans. I love them with salsa or barbeque sauce (both allowed).

      – Canned kitchen cut green beans (best kind, I think for whatever reason), cooked with a beef bullion cube, dill seasoning & onion powder.

      – Broccoli steamed or boiled with salt (salt cuts bitterness) and sprinkled with lots of Molly McButter and/or with lemon juice.

      – Maple Grove Farms of Vermont (available in regular grocery stores) makes very low cal dressings. I love the Raspberry vinaigrette & the Balsamic vinaigrette.

      – Whole yellow squash boiled until it is really soft, drain & cut in half, with lots of Molly McButter

      – I do the Hagan Daz frozen yogurt because it is SOOO good, but it is 140 cals in ½ cup. I did try a lower cal one—Yoplait I think—at only 100 cal. per ½ cup, but I don’t like it at all. I just figure it is a treat, its allowed, and no brand is specified, so I go for it.

      Hope this helps someone.

Larry — yum — I’m gong to try your chile.

      Ciao

    18. Janice says:

My last cycle I did a big whole thing for veggie day. Squash with pinto beans and some cheese on top (allowed). I liked it much better than today that’s for sure. I’ll have to plan my next cycle a little better. I just didn’t pick up the stuff I needed today.

Oh and that chili sounds awesome. I’m definitely making it next time.

    19. j dynamo says:

i don’t like frozen yogurt much, so i substitute Skinny Cow bars or ice cream sandwiches. i think they’re lower in calories than frozen yogurt. diane, thanks for all your ideas.

    20. Janice says:

Huh, what’s the differnce between pinto beans and kidney beans? I know there’s a difference but I wonder if it’ll make a difference to use kidney beans instead in this chili.

I have one meal left for today and I have everything Larry just listed. I want chili! haha Gonna make it anyway. Too dissatisfied with today’s meals to be happy.

    21. larry says:

Anohter one that a friend makes is spaghetti squash with tomato sauce (tomatoes, oregano etc) Does have close to the same texture and taste of pasta.

    22. Mike says:

Awesome, thanks for the ideas Larry and Diane. I like the Skinny Cow stuff also Dynamo. I’ve been reading some positive reviews on Stonyfield Farms frozen yogurts. I’m going to see if I can find anyone that carries it around me.

    23. Janice says:

The chili was delicious! Thanks Larry for the suggestion. I can go to bed happy now knowing that I had at least one satisfying meal today. :)

Hope I lose something again tomorrow. I’m ambitious now. I want to lose another 2.5 lbs by the end of this cycle and I think that’s completely doable.

    24. Big Sexy says:

I started the program a week later than I wanted to and gain 5 lbs. So my starting weight was 245 lbs. This morning beginning of Day 4 I lost 6lbs!!!!!! NO CHEATING. The scale told me 239 TWICE!! OMG I was so ready to give up last night and I think that’s what made me get on the scale this morning. For some reason even after hearing all the comments about the program, I still had this voice in head that this wasn’t going to work either.

I believe it’s because I was under a Doctor’s supervision for weight loss for 4 wks, taking Lipotropic injections once a week and on a 1,000 calorie a day meal plan, Yeah, 1,000 calories under a Doctor’s watchful eye. Yes, I lost 11 lbs in three weeks then hit a BRICK WALL. As I told you earlier gain 5 of those pounds back in a week. Ok, enough of my sad story.

It’s HAPPY TIME!!! 6 lbs I can’t wait to tell my friends. I’m actually doing an experiment, since starting this program I haven’t gone to the gym once and I go every day. I just wanted to see how much weight I’LL lose this 1st cycle (because everybody is different). Next cycle I’m gonna go 3 times a week and see what happens. I have to go and prepare todays meals so I have to go. Everyone a good NO CHEATING day (ha ha) I know you all can do it. And Congrats to all of those you are making good progress on this program

Larry- Thanks for the chilli recipe I definitely plan on using it on veggie day.

    25. Bill Nad says:

Congrats! It is always exciting to have a quick weight loss to insire you to keep going

    26. Mike says:

Awesome Big Sexy. I told you you would be happy when you did decide to hop on the scale. Keep it going. It’s not easy, but like I say success is the ultimate motivator.

My update – just finished cycle #2 last night. So my totals are:

      Cycle #1 – 13 lbs lost
      Cycle #2 – 9 lbs lost

Very happy with the results. I’m going to enjoy my 3 days off and try not to go to crazy with my cheat foods. I don’t want to ruin all my hard work. I’ll generate a new cycle and start again on Monday.

    27. Big Sexy says:

Thanks guys I feel so good today, I’m not sure if it’s the weather or FROZEN YOGURT DAY!!! (LOL)
Dang! Mike you’re doing an awesome job, keep up the good work. I plan on doing about 8 consecutive cycles, anyone else plan to stay on the program that long?

    28. Mike says:

Thanks Big Sexy. I think my weight loss is probably going to slow down a little. But I’m guessing that it will take me 5 or 6 more cycles to hit my goal. Weather I can do all of those cycles one after the other is another question though.

    29. Janice says:

As someone who has tried consecutive cycles… it aint’ easy boys! The funny part is that I actually like eating plainly. When I finished my first cycle I went to A&W for a burger and onion rings and I felt like I was eating a bowl of salt. This plain eating is so much healthier and obviously it pays off. It’s still not easy.

I’m finishing up this cycle tomorrow evening and starting my three days of splurging. I think this time around my grand total will be around 7 lbs. I only lost .2 of a lb yesterday for a total of 6 lbs. Turns out that the canned tomatoes I used for that chili were practically coated in salt and either I’m retaining fluid and I’ll see a drop tomorrow or I somehow messed up and I forfitted a whole days hard work (veggies) for a nice bowl of yummy chili. (It was still worth it… so good!)

I’m hoping for a little over 7 lbs. If I am retaining fluid and I see a nice drop then I’ll be even happier but I’m pretty happy right now with what I’ve accomplished.

I have a lovely steak dinner planned for Sunday at the Keg. :D I’m doing my cheat days in style.

Mike – 9 lbs is fantastic! Way to go! I’m sure you look and feel great.

Big Sexy – I’ll be on here again next week to start cycle #3 so if you’re around we can help each other out.

    30. Mimi says:

Hi! I just purchased this plan after reading your comments. I also bought the “beyond calories” program. Anyone try this or know someone who has tried this 10 day plan??

    31. Janice says:

Mimi – I’ve never tried it but I’ll swear by the 11 day regular progarm. If you have any questions at all, please just pop on here and ask. We’re all going through it right now.

I fell off the ship tonight. I was babysitting and there was a box of those tiny Halloween bars. I ate 7. :(

So, I’m just going to settle for a loss of 6 lbs this time around and I’m going to start my 3 day period tomorrow morning. I’ll be starting another cycle Tuesday morning. I’ll be back. :)

    32. Mimi says:

Thanks Janice- I’m going to try the beyond calories plan tomorrow- I will let you know how it goes!!!

    33. j dynamo says:

i believe that beating oneself up for falling off the ship is a greater sin than falling off in the first place. forgive, move on. keep spirits up.

    34. Mike says:

Yeah I would not sweat it too much Janice. There’s dang Halloween candy everywhere I go :) Enjoy your off day and just get it going again on Tuesday. If you can I would keep doing your walking even on your 3 off days.

Good luck Mimi. I know you will see results if you stick to the 11 or 10 day plans.

    35. Mee says:

Hi guys, I’m starting my first cycle of the 11day plan tomorrow 8weeks till xmas so my xmas party is my motivation!! I’ve struggled with my weight for ages just have a huge issue with my weight and food and then I stumbled across this diet and it’s perfect for me…so i’ll keep ye posted, weight in tomorrow morning and I’m dreading it but it’ll be the kick start i need…wish me luck….by the way ye guys are doing great it’s never easy losing weight and if you have bad day don’t dwell on it we all make mistakes just try not to through in the towel….

    36. Mike says:

Good luck Mee. Stick to the plan and lets see some good results.

I just went grocery shopping today and got all my food. Starting cycle #3 tomorrow.

Weigh in tomorrow morning and see if I gained much weight from my cheat days. Hopefully not.

    37. Mee says:

Thanks Mike….weight in this morning at 175lbs so as you said lets see some weight loss!!

    38. Mee says:

Day 1 is going good so far 2 meals over and hopefully the last 2 will go aswell….i’ll keep ye posted :)

    39. Mike says:

Well I’m a bit disappointed. I did not really eat all that badly over my three cheat days. I did not have any fast food or go out to eat. And the “bad” things that I did eat I chose the healthier version of. Reduced fat etc. I kept exercising each day. But all that being said I still put 3 pounds back on. :(

    40. Mee says:

Mike…don’t worry about it your doing great on your weight loss…some of that could be water retention so don’t be down on yourself all over it, just start over :)

    41. Janice says:

Mike – I always find that when I go back to “regular” eating my sodium intake goes up drastically because salt is in everything normal. We get used to eating little salt on this diet and the change can cause a few lbs gain. I know how you feel though. I’m up 3 lbs as well and disappointed. I know I’ll lose it in the first two days of the diet but I’d really like to start off where I ended last time.

      I’m starting cycle #3 tomorrow.

    42. Big Sexy says:

Mike – Don’t let it get you down it’s just a little bump in the road. Just like Mee said it could be water, then again you have to remember fat free or reduce fat isn’t always true. Just look forward to this cycle, those three days are in the past.

Mee – It’s time for you to get excited, I overlooked this program for about 18 mos and now I’m MAD I didn’t start it sooner. But that’s in the past now too and I’m on my 1st cycle 7th day and have lost 7lbs. down from 235 lbs. Just stick to it and you’ll be fine.

Janice – Don’t you beat yourself up either. Just make sure your still drinking a lot of water on the off days.

From what you and Mike are experiencing and for the rest of us who haven’t had our free days yet it may be a good idea to write down what we’re eating on the off days to see if we have a pattern. Be aware of the time we’re eating and how much that may help next time on your off days.

    43. Mike says:

Thanks Guys. And yes I have no doubt that a lot of the things I ate on my cheat days were loaded with sodium.

Oh well, day 1 of cycle #3 for me. I’m focused and ready to drop some more pounds. :)

    44. Diane says:

So, I’m back, after weeks of being off. I have trouble doing this diet with all the travel I do. But I’ve managed not to gain TOO much back. And I’ve kept up with your postings, which got me excited because I love that you guys are talking with and supporting each other. Therefore, I’m going to try joining the conversation and writing every day.

I did 4 or 5 cycles religiously starting back in June and lost a total of 15 lbs. After that, I was on-again-off-again for several cycles, which kept me pretty stable although I gained 1 or 2 lbs. As I said, I’ve been completely off for a couple of weeks. So ultimately I gained back 6 lbs.

Even when I stick closely with the plan, my weight loss is slow, but I think this is the easiest, best diet for me, and I’m used to the slow weight loss. I have a history. I won’t be able to complete a cycle now either, as I’ll be taking a trip next week, but I’ll get in a good 6 days. I’ll be off for 4 or 5, but after that I SHOULD be able to pick back up and stick with it for a while. I hope you guys will help with your great postings, which encourage me.

Okay, so, today I start at 144.4. The first of it should drop very fast because I had some serious pig out days over the weekend–I was at 142 Friday morning. Wish me luck.

    45. Mike says:

Hi Diane, welcome back and good luck. I have no doubt that this diet would be difficult to follow on trips and what not. Focus on your next 6 days and you should get a nice head start on it. :)

So I was supposed to start today but my paycheck didn’t come in and I didn’t have the cash to go out and get the requisit groceries. Blah.

So, I’ll be starting a new cycle on Thursday at which time I’ll weigh in and let you all know.

      Cheers

      Well,
After I have been doing this diet but I dont do the full 11 days….i make the fruit day a vegetable/fruit day and i go only do day 8 cause after that i stay at the same weight. I drop 5 pounds each time i do it and take only 2 days off…i eat 4 meals of purely junk food on my days off and i never gain any weight back…im guessing its because i never let myself get full…i started off at 186 and now im at 155. I was experimenting with the diet a few times so im not sure how many cycles i’ve done but i bought the program 2 months ago. I cant wait till i hit my target of 120 lbs. Unfortunately, i need some support now…I wanna stop cause im tired of the food but…i dont wanna be fat all my life..

Hello Kyra, at 155 lbs I would not say that you are fat. In fact I never call anyone fat because I know how it feels to be called fat. Anyway if you are looking for support you have come to the right place. All of us here are struggling with our weight but we are giving each other encouragement and it seems to be working. I agree that the food can be tough to handle cycle after cycle. But some of the people here make some good suggestions about the foods we get to eat. To me this is just a way of eating to get to where I want to weight wise. I’m determined to reach my goal. How bad do you want it. :)

So, I was thinking that maybe we could make up a list of options for the fruit and veggie days. That way we can all help each other get through those hard days. That chili iidea was great but since I made it with canned tomatoes it hurt me rather than helped me. Lets post some recipes that work for us!

On fruit day I generally make some smoothies for the morning. An apple, a nectarine, a peach, some strawberries with a splash of water and some ice. It’s thick, delicious and a nice change from just eating endless fruit.
