fat loss 4 Idiots – Will It Help You Lose Weight?
fat loss for Idiots is a site and diet that my wife had learned about from her stepmom. Initially I looked at the Fat Loss For Idiots website and saw that after clicking though a bunch of pages of information I found that the program was only $39.
As a fitness and health enthusiast I know that there are no easy ways out of losing weight so when I first saw all of the hype around fat loss for idiots I was of course initially skeptical.
I have scoured the internet looking for more information on the Fat Loss For Idiots program and would like to present this to you here so that you can make an informed decision when you visit the Fat Loss For Idiots site.
Lose Weight Fast with Fat Loss 4 Idiots?
Fat Loss for Idiots claims you can lose 9 pounds lost in 11 days. Wow, is this possible? You probably have your doubts but I know because I have seen it happen, with the right diet and exercise program you can lose weight and lose it quickly.
Over the last year or so I have received over 200 success stories from people just like you. You can see them below.
After that quick weight loss it is important that you continue eating according to the plan and get some exercise of any kind and you will continue losing weight. The way the diet cycles means that you should lose weight every week with no bad weeks at all.
What do I not like about Fat Loss for Idiots?
Fat Loss for Idiots may be getting a lot of support by a lot of people but it is not all perfect. In watching how people use the diet I have found that some people have real problems with fat Loss for Idiots. First of all there is the dreaded “fruit day” one day of the cycle you eat nothing but fruit. Many people do not like this even though we all know how good fruit is for us.
One other problem with Fat loss for idiots is that you are supposed to eat until satisfied. Don’t stop when you are hungry and do not overeat but just until satisfied. But how much is satisfied? I am not sure what to say about this. People like to have a measured amount of food and doing it yourself is a little stressful.
Fat Loss for Idiots Meal Plan
This is a great part of the fat loss for idiots program
Fat Loss for Idiots food is made up of lean proteins, fruit and vegetables, and the sources of fat come from whole foods (such as cottage cheese or eggs). There are some starchy carbohydrates (such as oats and pasta). The day is divided into 4 meals that should be eaten at a maximum of 2 1/2 hours apart. There is no calorie or carb counting, no limit on portion size – Fat Loss 4 Idiots says you “just eat short of being full”.
After the 11 day meal plan there is a 3 day “cheat” – where you get to eat whatever you want. Then you are back into the 11 day plan again.
The real difference between the fat loss for idiots plan and other plans is that the diet is purposely confusing your body so it never thinks it is starving. This is not a new meal program in that regard. Body for Life and other programs have long advocated confusing your body by having a day or more off of the diet so that you are in more control of how you eat. Fat Loss for Idiots does a good balance of this.
The meal plan is created by selecting from a list of preferred foods. These are then used to generate your meal plan.
Fat Loss for Idiots also includes a very extensive handbook that teaches you how to to eat, how not to eat and what is important in your goal of losing weight.
Exercise on Fat Loss 4 Idiots
Fat loss for idiots is a diet program. One thing and one thing only. The people that come up with the meal plans look at you as a user of the service as a person that is mainly sedentary.
Fat Loss for idiots recommends that you do get some exercise for additional weight loss. They encourage walking and other low intensity exercise of 30 minutes a day.
Fat Loss for Idiots – Is a Cheap Diet Program
Fat Loss For Idiots is a cheap diet. When you buy the diet is gives you access to an online diet generator as well as a diet workbook. Nutritionally it is a reduced carb diet that cycles macro-nutrient ratios (to try and trick your metabolism). It recommends common-sense weight loss principles (brisk walking, plenty of water, etc), and contains only whole foods (no processed foods, high-sugar foods, or supplements).
Here are some good reviews for the fat loss for idiots program:
“I started this diet 3 days ago, and have lost 2 and a half pounds so far.”
“I have now been on this diet for 11 days and have lost 6 and a half pounds. I am very happy with that, especially since I have not exercised or done the recommended walking.”
“On Fat loss for idiots I lost 7 pounds the first 11 days! I’m happy with that considering (like I mentioned) I had not done the suggested walking.”
The really nice thing about the fat loss for idiots diet is that it is cheap, and you buy your own food. No need to buy prepackaged food and expensive supplements which is the downfall that I always find with the more famous diets.
Fat Loss 4 Idiots – Will Work For Most People
There are a few things that seem to be really good in the fat loss for idiots diet and plan. Firstly the cheap nature means that you do not have to buy and create a complex meal plan. Secondly there is a cycling of your diet so that you keep your metabolism from working against you. And thirdly the diet is incredibly popular on the internet and the reason for that is that it seems to work for just about anyone.
Lastly there is a guarantee that this will work or you get your money back. I do not see any way that anyone can lose by at least trying Fat Loss 4 Idiots.
Who shouldn’t do Fat Loss for Idiots?
I have not been critical at all about Fat Loss for Idiots but I have to admit that there are some drawbacks to the diet.
If you exercise a lot Fat Loss for Idiots may not be for you. The diet itself is a diet designed to help you lose weight but people that get a lot of exercise, and hour or more a day, may find that the diet does not offer enough calories.
The diet itself can get a bit boring. There is a lot of repetition in the menu plan but most people seem to be OK with this as this is supposed to be a diet that helps you lose the weight that you want and then you ease off to a diet that you can live with for life.
I Really Recommend Fat Loss for Idiots
There is no magic behind Fat Loss for Idiots but really what it is a good focused meal plan and sensible exercise for beginners. Although this may not seem like much it is very important in my mind to be doing something that will give you the satisfaction that you are making the changes in YOUR life that will help you lose weight. This diet will work for you.
I am a big fan of Fat loss for idiots for no other reason than it is nice and simple, and it really does work, if you follow a diet that changes what you eat and moves you in a better direction nutritionally than what you are now.
And the simple fact is that at $39 fat loss 4 idiots is much cheaper than even a couple of weeks of Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers.

Buy the Fat Loss for Idiots program today and see where you are in a month.
One month from today, if you commit now, you can be 10-20 pounds lighter. Otherwise, in a month, if you do nothing you will be the same weight or even slightly more than you are today. The choice is yours.

Hi guys, was down 2lbs this morning despite the fact that I cheated a little on both days, today is day 3 so hopefully I’ll see some more results…..I’ll try not to cheat. But I really think that the two key points in this diet are drink plenty of water, and don’t stuff yourself eat till your satisfied..
Good morning everyone. Well, as predicted, I’m down quite a bit this morning–141.2, which is 3 lbs down from previous day. But as I noted, I was 141(point something) on Friday before a huge food-fest over the weekend, so the quick 3 lbs did not surprise me. Getting below 140 will be a challenge, but I’m psyched for today.
Kyra, congrats on your success! WOW, you’ve done amazing on this program and tailoring it to your own needs.
Mike & Janice, keep up the good work and the great posts. I’m looking forward to following your progress
Mee and everyone: the water thing fluxgates for me. Sometimes I get on a roll and drink water constantly; other times I forget and will go all day without drinking anything but coffee. And I think you are right, water is very important and it makes a difference not only in my appetite, but in how I feel, and I think in (although this sounds weird) in helping the weight to flush out. The “stop eating” before you are completely satisfied has always been a mystery to me because my body has never really figured that out. Frequently I feel full after pretty small portions of food, but feel very hungry again after a short period of time–like 30 minutes. That’s why the rule (at least 2.5 hrs between meals) is good for me. If I’m hungry again in 30 minutes, I simply do not eat again for 2 hours and I tell myself, certainly I can bear anything for 2 hours. Then, 2 hours later when I eat, I am again pretty easily satisfied. Its not great–I wish I didn’t get hungry so quickly–but I’ll survive.
Have a good day everyone!!!
Hi there day3 is going well but i’m just after lunch and am still hungry, dinner isn’t till 5.30 so I’m really hoping I don’t ruin the day by binging….
Thank you guyz. i’ts awesome to have this kind of support. As far as food ideas…well since i do the veggie and fruit day together i actually look forward to it…for breakfast i will usually have a bowl of beans with melted cheese and either and orange or an apple. for lunch i have a bowl on lentils done with tomato, and chili. for my 3rd meal at work i have the sandwich and for my last meal I have a little salad with lots of diced cucumber, a little salt a bunch of lemon a little cayenne pepper and mmmmmm its delicious and then i have another bowl of lentil soup or beans with cheese. I usually eat at 9am 12 pm 3:30pm and 6pm…and if im starving before bed i’ll have like a few carrots or a tiny little bit of skim milk and that satisfies my hunger pangs…and i always loose my 5lbs every 6-7 days but i go for 8 days per cycle…sometimes i loose the 5 lbs after day 4 so i go straight into my 2 free days after i loose my 5 lbs. i also have sugar free jello to snack on at night if im too hungry….and i drink water…but not my 10 glasses a day…im lucky if i drink 4 or 5 a day…today i weight myself and i thought i was 155 but im at 149 and i have no idea when those extra pounds left..im so so happy..just a few more cycles and i know i’ll be at 120…yay!
Good morning. Oh, so tired this morning. But surprised: 140 this morning, that is a quicker down than I expected. But with water fluctuations, it could be up tomorrow, which is why I stopped ( along time ago) weighing every day. But as I was watching you guys record daily weight, I also thought how disappointing it is to weigh in a week and have a bad result, which could also just be temporary, but you don’t know it because you have not seen the daily fluctuations. Does that make sense? Anyway, to each his own and what works for you/me. So, its on to day 3, and I’m hungry, hungry. Strange combinations today—wish me luck.
Hey all!
I have been reading all the posts and am so happy for the successes and thankful for the tips. I haven’t posted as I have been traveling for business and haven’t been following the diet but I love reading your thoughts. But am now back home for a week, so tomorrow will start again. I unfortunately gained back the 6 lbs I dropped my first cycle, but am determined to lose that and more. I didn’t do my walking the first time but will be exercising this time.
Everyone keep up the good work and I look forward to joining you in the successful posts!
Good Luck!
Hi Betsy, welcome and look forward to seeing you have success on your next cycle. Good luck!!
Diane – I know what you mean about the daily fluctuations. It can be frustrating to work your tail off and do exactly like you are suppose to only to hop on the scale and not see any weight loss. Then other days where you don’t feel you did very well you hop on and are down 2 lbs.
I’ve been having a tough time dropping down into the 100’s. For some reason I get to 200 lbs and seem to hit a bit of a wall.
On a positive note. I think the fact that this plan really targets fat loss instead of just calorie burning is pretty cool. Even at 200 lbs I’m seeing more definition in my tummy than I did when I was at 180 lbs following a different diet a number of years ago. Can’t wait to see what I’m like when I reach my 170 lbs goal.
Starting day 4.
Hey all, I’m starting another cycle today. I weighed in this morning to find that I’ve regained 2.3 lbs of the 6 lbs I lost last cycle. It’s not great but I thought I’d regained over 3 lbs so not too bad either.
I’m having a good day today although I’m a little hungry. I’m really hoping to lose 9 lbs this time and I think I can since I lost 6 lbs last time and I cheated like mad and didn’t walk every day. I’m determined not to cheat this time and to walk every day. Christmas is coming up and I want to surprise my family when I go home with around 20 lbs lost. I’ve lost 12 lbs since they last saw me so if I lose another 20, it’ll be a nice 32 lbs and that will definitely be noticable.
I’m the heaviest of everyone posting here I think. I’m finally going to get out of the 260’s this time around which I find really exciting. I haven’t been able to lose weight for a while now and the doctors were telling me that I have hypothyroidism and weight loss would always be hard for me. Ha! This’ll show them!!!
Janice – I have a bunch of family coming to visit for Christmas also. So like you it will be nice to surprise them. A lot of them have not seen me since I first started exercising and eating right a number of months ago. I started using the Fat Loss program at 219 lbs. But for several months before that I was at 256 lbs. So far 56 lbs lost and I’m hoping to be around 180 lbs by Christmas.
Mike – Wow! You’re doing amazing! I can’t wait until I’ve lost that much. Do they at least know that you’ve been doing so well? They’ll be so happy to see you more healthy.
Diane – Just wondering what height you are. 140 doesn’t seem like a whole lot. I’m 5′11′ so 140 lbs was what I weighed in like grade 6.
Whew!!! This is my last day of the 1st cycle. I’ll be weighing and measuring myself in the moring, keep your fingers cross. I REALLY hope I stick to my meal plan for my 3 free days. Well, I’m on my way to water aeorbics. Read ya in the morning!!
Fingers crossed for you Big Sexy!
I had my last meal of the day at 5:30 and now it’s 8:19 and I’m about ready to gnaw my arm off so I’m going to have some fruit. I don’t want to give in and eat something bad so I’m warding off bad behaviour.
I really hope I see something tomorrow morning. It’s only day 1, I know, but I’d really like it.
Hi everyone! I am on cycle two and this time my duaghter has joined me. I lost nine or ten pounds, went off for three days, and jumped back on Monday morning. I did gain two pounds back on my cheat days, but I think it might have been hormone related. Toda yis day 4 for us. My daughter has lost 3 pounds and I have lost 3-4. I have an old fashion scale with the lines, so it’s hard to know exactly. My daughter is not able to consume the 10 glasses of water, she drinks about half. She Neither of ucheated Monday night with two slices of pizza and still lost weight. We are not exercising until we loose the weightt and finish the diet. We plan on resuming normal exercise patterns though as soon as we are done to maintain the weight loss. It does work!! A few people I work with see the difference and ve either started it, or plan to try it soon. I feel great!
Kudos to the rest of you. It’s really not that bad, but it does require strong will when you get a craving. Happy Thursday!
Cravings are rough. I find that knowing I have a frozen yogurt day coming helps with mine and, to tell the truth, I sometimes just insert frozen yogurt into my day anyway. It doesn’t seem to really hurt my cycle so why not! Moderation is key.
One thing I’m really loving about this diet is that, as the days get colder and we tend to want to eat more, I’m only eating to satifaction and only four times a day. It really takes care of all that mindless eating that usually comes with the cold weather.
There is no doubt it, the food is satisfying. I find that I am not looking to snack throughout the day and night like I used to. I crave salt so the cashews really help. I might encorporate the frozen yogurt too. Saturday is the first day that it is planned on my generator but we may have to endulge a day early if the scale is still down. Thanks.
I often find that the day I’m scheduled to have frozen yogurt yields a drop of 2 lbs. More than any other day. My mom was always the same when she dieted. She would get fed up, eat ice cream and lose weight!
Hi guys hope your all well…..not much of a weight loss seens as I havn’t followed the plan exactly but I havn’t been able to the last few day…weight myself this morning 173 but that’s still really good a 5lb loss in 5day….from tomorrow on I should have no prob following the plan exactly….i think i’ll do a fruit day tomorrow and then follow the meals day by day…..i hoping to be 170 by Day 11….i’ll keep ye posted xox
Down .4 of a lb. It’s not a great leap and bound loss like I’d hoped for but its a loss so I’m happy. Today is fruit day so I know that I’ll be down by something tomorrow. No cheating!
Good Morning,
May I have a drum roll please!!! At the end of cycle 1 (Yeah! I made it)
Total weight loss: 11 lbs
Total inches loss: 9″
Body Fat loss: 2.7% (My scale weighs that too
Ladies, I beg you to pull out your tape measure and to not only look at the scale.
I’ll start cycle 2 on Monday, I don’t expect that much of a weight loss only because I’m getting back into the gym. Taking a Toning/Abs class 3x/wk and Water Aeorbics 3x/wk. But who knows we’ll see, I’ll weigh again on Monday morning to see how I did on my days off, wish me luck.
Oh, wow! A lot of entries to respond to this morning—yea! maybe it will help motivate me.
Unsurprisingly, my weight is up this morning. I knew the drastic loss was artificial—and yes, I followed the diet to the tee yesterday, but as I said, it will be slow for me, and I accept that. 141.4 today, which is 1.4 up from yesterday morning, .2 up from the day before, but still1.5 down from Tuesday (day 1), so I’ll take it and be happy. Maybe tomorrow I’ll be back down.
Betsy: I travel a lot too, so I understand. Still, this diet has really worked well for me in the long-run (and it has been a long run, I’m on my 11th cycle) and though I’ve not lost in total weight since about cycle 5 or 6 (the last time I completed a cycle) I have not gain a significant amount back at any time, and I think that is victory. Good luck to you.
Mike: I find that too—I think my body looks better and firmer—even though I’ve not been working out. I think your total loss is AMAZING, and I am so excited for you to share this with your family for the holidays.
Janice: LMAO – I only WISH I was 5’11 and 140 lbs!!! No, I’m 5’4, so 140 looks a lot bigger on me. I’m sort of medium to small build. I FEEL better all over if I’m under 135, but I’ve not been that small in about 10 years. I was very heavy in my late teens, and went on a starvation diet with amphetamines. I lost A LOT of weight and became skin and bones. I’d gain back when I got pregnant, for the sake of the baby, but after the baby was born, I’d starve again. I was hospitalized twice. That was a very long time ago, and I am healthy now. I will never do that again—but I do struggle with trying to eat healthy, and be healthy, but still stay at a weight I am happy with. My goal is to hit 127 and to stay under 131—but that may be too hard. I’ll be happy if I can stay under 135.
Don’t be unhappy that you are only “Down .4 lb.” – I think that is wonderful. There is nothing wrong with slow and steady weight loss, and you seem to be doing great.
Big Sexy: I’m looking forward to reading about your results.
Salena: It’s great that your daughter is doing this with you—it would be nice to have the support. I try to cook large supplies of the meat in my plan so that I can serve that up throughout the week to my husband and add bread or pasta, etc. just to HIS meals. I do okay with that. I don’t crave what I give him as much as feel proud that I can resist. Keep us updated on your and your daughter’s progress.
Mee: A 5 lb. loss in 5 days is beyond what I can wrap my brain around, so you CERTAINLY should not be discouraged. You should be congratulating yourself! I bet you will make your goal.
Everyone: I will be going through day 6 this time, then I have to go out of town and will not be in a situation where I can follow the diet. I would LIKE to be at least back to the 140 by then (that is Monday)—if not, I’ll be disappointed, but I will forge ahead. One of my downfalls: I LOVE the frozen yogurt, but I buy a brand that is higher in calories (I don’t like the other that is available in my area), and probably over indulge in that. I don’t want to give up the treat—any suggestions?
Excellent post Diane. Sounds like you went through some rough times in the past. Glad you are a different person now. For many of us here weight loss (and gains) will be something we have to deal with for most of our lives. Very glad there are people like yourselves for support and encouragement. As far as frozen yogurt goes. Check out the Stoney Field Farms website. I tried a couple of their organic frozen yogurts and thought they were pretty good. And they were fat free and only 100 & 120 calories per serving. Can use their website to see who in your area carries it.
Mee – I agree. 5 lbs in 5 days is pretty awesome. Remember most diets you are doing great if you are loosing 1-2 pounds every 7 days.
Big Sexy – Very awesome numbers. Proud of you !!
Salena – sounds like you and your daughter are off to a great start. You guys must have fast metabolisms. I don’t think I could achieve very good weight loss numbers if I did not do my daily walking.
Janice – .4 is a loss. Good job. Keep it going. Some days will be better than others.
Myself – Starting day 5. So far I’m down 4 lbs this cycle. Was dreading the upcoming veggie day. But I went out and bought a bunch of stuff to make veggie chili. So now I’m kind of anxious to try it.
Good luck to all and keep it going. You all are doing a great job !!!
Thanks for the yogart suggestion, Mike. I’ll give it a try. And let me know how you put together your veggie chile.
Well I had an excellent day! Lots of walking (shopping) and I ate to perfection. Fruit day is so hard for me but I managed to make it through today without much fuss. I did eat a banana and it isn’t on the list but really… who the hell cares! haha
Big Sexy – Crazy numbers! 11 lbs is simply amazing! Cycle #1 is usually where you bust out the big numbers. Remember not to indulge too much over your cheat days because its very easy to slip back on 3-4 of those hard lost pounds. Keep posting on your next cycle. You’ll be tired of the food so talking to us will definitely help you stay on track.
Mee – 5 lbs in 5 days? That’s right on track!
Mike – That chili will make your day so much easier. Just remember to use all fresh veggies and no canned stuff. That was my mistake. I was also thinking about trying a little pinto bean wrap this time around. Follow me here… large lettuce leafs that you can use like a tortilla, mushed and fried pinto beans used like refried beans, salsa, peppers, spices, and some cheese to top it off. It might just work! I know I’m doing it for one meal on veggie day. I’m thinking one salad meal, one wrap meal, and two chili meals. Wayyyy better than just munching veggies all day.
Diane – I’ve had a problem with eating disorders in the past so I get where you’re coming from. I’ve yo-yoed all my life and I finally reached 276 lbs and just felt like my life had slipped away from me. The doctors told me that I would have a hard time losing weight for the rest of my life because of hypothyroidism but since finding this diet I have lost weight quickly and efficiently. I finally feel like I’m getting back to being me even though I’ve only lost 13 lbs. It just feels like I’m working towards something now rather than sitting stagnant.
Ok… enough chatter. Time to do the evil dishes.
Janice – Yeah I’m not sure why Banana’s were not included on the fruit day. They are good for you so I eat them anyway. And yes, any ideas to make veggie day easier are all welcomed by me.
Hi guys. Day 5. 140.4–much better. Sure would be great to be UNDER 140 by Monday before my trip. But, I’m only going to be gone 2 days–the other 3 days have been canceled, so maybe I’ll be able to watch it on my trip and just jump back on the wagon when I get back.
Sitting in the bed catching up on the news this Saturday morning before heading into chores. Hubby is sitting beside me eating a cinnamon roll–I hate him and his tall, lean body!!!!
Mike, I still want detailed instructions on your chili. I’m excited to make it, but will totally screw it up w/o explanation, I think.
Down another 1.5 lbs today!!! That makes 1.9 lbs on the morning of day #3.
I’m so proud that I made it through fruit day without cheating. All last night I was dreaming about the oatmeal, cheese slices, and bacon strips I would be having for breakfast this morning. It was delicious! Protein makes me so happy. haha
Diane – the recipe for the chili is pretty simple. We didn’t discuss it in detail but basically you take whatever veggies you can from the list and simmer them in fresh tomatoes with herbs and some hot peppers then add pinto beans. Since onions aren’t on the list I used onion powder. I also used chili powder and celery powder, which made it delicious! The pinto beans are a little different to eat than the kidney beans, different consistancy, but just knowing that you’re on plan helps with the difference.
Thanks for the recipe, Janice.
Today is going to be the WORST day. I just looked at my menu plan, and this is the worst plan I’ve ever been given. Wishe me luck: MEAL 1 – Cashews, Cheese slices; MEAL 2 – Cottage Cheese, Macadamia nuts; MEAL 3 – Peaches, Grapes; MEAL 4 – Bacon, Hard Boiled Eggs.
LOL, yeah that does look like a difficult one Diane. Note: I choose peanuts as part of my plan every time. But I substitute peanuts with Almonds. So many beneficial qualities in Almonds that I had to make them part of my plan.
Janice – Good job. Sounds like you are right on track this cycle.
Question: For those of you that choose Bacon & Sausage for your plans. Are you eating like your normal bacon & sausage? I am eating Turkey Bacon and for sausage I eat cut up pieces of Turkey Kielbasa. Normal bacon & sausage just seemed so fatty to me.
As far as my Chili goes. I’m going to make it tomorrow and this will be my first time. Veggie day is quite tough for me so if I have items in my chili that are not on our list oh well. I like spicy food so I’m going to make mine with: Jalapeno peppers, Red & Green peppers, Celery, Pinto Beans, Can of Diced Tomatoes, 6 ounces spicy vegetable juice, couple of garlic cloves, chili powder, cumin. Hopefully it will taste good.
I use regular bacon but with 33% less sodium. It satisfies me quickly and makes me believe that I’m not even on a diet. That’s why I don’t fuss over what kind of frozen yogurt I get. As far as I understand, this diet incorporates fatty foods so that our body won’t think its in starvation mode. So the bacon and the nuts and the frozen yogurt is what is actually fooling our metabolism into working overtime.
Diane – Terrible day. So why don’t you change it? If you look at the plan closely, the outline of how it works that is, you’ll notice that it just says “protein meal,” “carbs / protein meal,” etc… That means that you can substitute here. Nuts are protein so if you don’t want cashews and cheese slices, then make that meal bacon and cheese slices, or turkey and cheese slices. It’s a lot more satisfying and you still lose the weight. Just remember to stop at satisfaction.
I’ve found three meal plans that I like and I just rotate them. You can’t always trust that a lottery chance generator is going to give you a meal plan that will work for you. Make it work for you!
Hope that helps.
I LOVE the taste of sausage, even though its fatty, but I can’t eat very much of it at a setting (one link tops), so yes, when I choose sausage I eat regular. HOWEVER–and this is rather gross–sausage sticks in my teeth so much, I hate eating it, so I took it off my menu.
I eat the Turkey bacon because frankly I like it more than regular. I’ve heard nutricianists say, however, its really bad for you because the sodium content is so high. Again, since I don’t eat more than 1 (and rarely 2) slices at a setting, I don’t worry about that too much.
Okay, my down-fall, true confession here, although I do follow the menus very closely and do not over-indulge, I am a big fan of good red wine. I lived in Italy for some years and became very close friends with a small, family run, award winning vintner. So, while I consider a “glass” of wine to be 5 oz–I usually have 2 to 2 -1/2 glasses in the evening (about 10 – 12 oz). The one vice I have a very difficult time giving up.
Janice, apparently, I was posting at the same time as you, so I didn’t see your suggestions (thus I have a post under you about the salt in turkey bacon).
Thanks. I did not know this about the actual WAY the fat and protein formula works, so I just follow the menu precisely and left the science to the creators. I’ll give your idea a try.
Yes I agree about the fatty foods in the diet and keeping our metabolism working at a high level. That being said, the turkey bacon & turkey kielbasa that I eat still have plenty of fat. Just not as much as regular bacon & sausage. I admit that the high sodium is a big turn off though.
Diane – as far as I know, isn’t a glass of red wine a day suppose to be a fairly good thing?
Tried something different today for my snack. I hope it doesn’t bite me in the ass. Under cheese slices it just says “regular cheese slices” so I’ve been getting Colby or Hvarti, stuff like that. Today I saw some plain goat cheese on sale and I LOVE goat cheese! So, I got it and spread some on two slices of turkey then roled them up and ate them like that. It was delicious and very satisfying because of the richness of the goat cheese. I don’t see it being much of a problem as it is just another “regular” cheese. What do you all think? I also only ate a bit of it in case it impeeds my weight loss.
I haven’t tried sausage since starting this. Although I love fatty foods (as shown by the fact I need to lose so much weight) but it always seems so fatty that I just hate the feeling of eating it. So, that turkey kalbasa sounds like a good alternative to me. I might just try it. Although, I do think that bacon is my happy place and what keeps me sane throughout this process. Bacon and cheese.
Oh, and frozen yogurt.
Janice – I read online that Goat Cheese in many cases is healthier than cheese made from cows. Lower in fat, calories and cholesterol. I can’t stand fat free cheese’s. So I have been eating a reduced fat medium cheddar that I can cut pieces of it off the block.
I’ve been eating jalapeno havarti. It’s absolutely delicious and when combined with spicy buffalo turkey it makes for a pretty satisfying meal.
I’m always surprised now at just how fast I get to satisfied. I had half a chicken breast and some cottage cheese with a handful of peanuts for supper and had to stop before I finished because I was getting uncomfortable. Too big portion sizes has always been a problem for me and really having to notice your satisfaction level is helping me so much. Knowing that you only have to wait 2.5 hours to eat again if you get hungry also helps a lot.
Okay — so this is why I get frustrated. I’ve followed the diet (except some minor issues and a little extra wine) and this is what happens:

– Sunday, Nov 7, Weight 142.2!!!! — Why does this happen? This happens all the time. It goes up and down, and today I actually weight 1 lb more than I did Oct. 30th.
Hi there, I’ve had a bad weekend, have been out almost all weekend so the diet hasn’t gone well but I guess these things happen, tomorrow I’ll get back on track and I finish my first cycle on friday so hopefully I’ll reach my goal of 168 if not well I only have myself to blame!! I feel great following the plan so I’m going to make an extra effort to follow the plan exactly till friday….not sure if i should weight myself tough any suggestions??? I’m afraid I’ll have pilled back on what I lost..should I give myself till maybe wedensday morning and then weight in?
hi everyone,
I just completed my first 11 days and lost 11.2 lbs. I’m worried that over the next 3 days I will gain some or all of it back.. what has been others experience with the “3 chat days”?
thank you for your input
Granny
oops sorry, I meant ” cheat days”
Diane – tough to say exactly. But looking at the amount of food you are eating it almost seems like you are not getting enough calories daily. Could be that your body is going into starvation mode and not burning fat like it should. Do you think you are even taking in 1,000 calories daily? Should be taking in at least 1,200. Are you drinking all the water that is suggested? What kind of exercise are you doing. Sometimes you hit a point where walking alone won’t do it anymore and you have to change it up a bit.
Granny – From what I’ve seen it looks to be pretty common for many people, including myself, to gain back 2 or 3 pounds on the cheat days. But if you start another cycle right after that you usually drop those pounds in the first few days.
Down another .9 lb today for a total of 2.8 lbs on the morning of day #4. I’m pretty happy with that. I went for a nice walk today to get my metabolism going as well. Hope I see a nice drop tomorrow.
Granny – As Mike said, it seems as though most people gain back 2-3 lbs over their cheat days. I think the cheat days are very important because those cheats tell your body that its not starving and that it can rev up your metabolism. Just try not to go over board on your cheat days and watch your sodium intake.
Diane – Are you actually satisfied when you stop eating? I know that I eat more than what you’ve written there. Honestly, I find that when I relax and just enjoy the food, I get more results. Even splurges like eating frozen yogurt on days that its not on the menu helps me lose more. You need the fat to rev your metabolism. Maybe you’re not balancing it enough. I really don’t know. I hope you figure it out.
Thanks for the comments.
No, I am not taking in 1200 calories per day, and while I understand the theory that you have to eat calories to keep you metabolism up, when I DO eat 1200, I gain to about 145 and stay there, except anytime I over-indulge it creeps up to 150. I speak from many years of experience on that.
And NO I do not exercise enough, and I need to. I will make that a goal. I have exercised quite a lot in the past, and it hasn’t seemed to help UNLESS I was restricting calories to under 1,000. When I was very thin and not eating (I used to eat between 200-300 calories per day), I was a dancer, so got a lot of exercise then. But, as you know after quite some time of that I became ill—so lets not go there.
I do keep intending to take my diet journal to a doctor and show it to him/her—however, I have this fear of not being believed for the same reason that people say, “well, you aren’t eating enough” — it just doesn’t seem to make sense. When I was on weight watchers a couple years ago, they said I wasn’t eating enough (I was supposed to be eating 20 pts. Per day, but I was only eating 15 to 18). So, I upped it to 20 and gained weight for the next 3 weeks, until I gave up.
I do know it isn’t my thyroid—that’s been tested many times, not because of weight issues, but other things. I do believe it is due in part to many years of starving myself, and I don’t know how to fix that.
Anyway, I’m not giving up yet. I’m going to keep on trying. And I will keep on reporting with the hope of your support.
Thank you all so much,
Di
PS — Sorry, don’t mean to be a downer. Just searching.
You guys are all doing amazing, and it is inspirational to read your posts.
Diane – I know how frustrating it is to work at losing weight and not get anywhere. That’s where I was until I found this diet. I hope you find something that will work for you like this is working for me. Don’t give up!!
Weight this AM 141.4. Its not the “under 140″ I wanted by this trip I am taking today, but at least its better than yesterday. I’m off for a couple of days. Hoping not to add additional lbs. while I’m gone–will do my best.
I wish the best for all of you over the next couple of days, and I look forward to reading your posts when I return.
Ciao,
Di
Hi Guys,
I’ve just finished my 3 off days and I’m glad to say I didn’t gain any weight I’m still 234. What I did on my days off I still had a meal plan and kind of based it on the 11 day meal plan.
Friday 11/6
meal 1: 1 cup Cereal w/1/2 cup non fat milk and whole banana
meal 2: Fruit – Apple, Strawberries and Banana
meal 3: Applebee’s – Steak and double veggies (didn’t get the loaded mashed potatoes which I LOVE)
meal 4: Frozen Yogurt
Plenty of water
Saturday 11/7
meal 1: again Cereal w/banana
meal 2: Salad
meal 3: 1/2 Subway sub
meal 4: Fruit – Grapes Strawberries and bacon
Plenty of water
Sunday 11/8
meal 1: Fish and Grits
meal 2: Smoothie – Yoplait has new Smoothie out which is frozen fruit w/yogurt pieces, you just put it in a blender w/non fat milk. Please believe it when I say it’s thick and delious!! And it make 2 smoothies but since I’m using it for a meal I drink the whole thing.
meal 3: 2 slices of pizza and 2 beers
I had 4 cookies (homemade) and ate those thru out the day.
I was still full from the pizza that I didn’t have a meal 4, I just drank water until bedtime.
I think if you plan your meals ahead of time it still gives you the freedom, but also gives you the feeling your still on the 11 day plan so even when you have those cheat time it doesn’t feel guilty because they are your cheat days.
I start cycle 2 today so I’ll keep you posted. To everyone that’s having a hard time stick w/it I’m really hoping cycle 2 is end great. With the workouts I’m putting I’m expecting to lose about 5-6 lbs on cycle 2 if it’s more great.
Wait for it… 2 lbs down from yesterday!!! That’s a total of 4.8 lbs on the morning of day 5.
I’m very happy with that, mostly because it means that I weight 259.9 lbs! I’m out of the 260’s! Well, obviously if I’m not careful I’ll slip right back in, but its only day 5 and I’m really hoping to lose another 3-4 lbs this time around so that woiuld put me firmly in the mid 250’s.
This makes me very happy.
I went for a really nice walk yesterday so I think I’ll repeat that today and hope for another lb loss tomorrow. Ciao peoples!
Well, started the diet on Saturday and here it is Monday and am down 3 lbs!!! What a surprise! Especially since I didn’t get to follow the diet on Sunday-niece had a birthday and family had a get together. I was careful about off plan food though. So today I am doing my fruit day.
As far as Bananas, I don’t know if this helps but they are higher in the Glycemic Load numbers. Not the same for the other fruit on the plan. Now don’t ask me what the Glycemic Load means but it is rated to the Glycemic Index and I know this plan seems to really be based on the GI and food eaten together. I love bananas too and have missed them. But if it works for you to eat them, then go ahead. I am sorry to see peaches go out of season.
Janice, Way to Go.
Diane, Don’t give up. It is a struggle but you are doing so good.
Big Sexy, Yeah for you-Good Luck on cycle 2.
Mike, you have done such an awesome job and thanks for all the support
Granny, Hope you are doing well on the plan.
Mee, I have heard the weighing debate and can’t honestly say what is better. I like to weigh every day but many people say you shouldn’t. Decide what is best for you!
Salena, any updates?
If I missed anyone, I am sorry. You guys are doing all so good. Keep up the good work. I only have 4 days more (total of 6 days) as I have another business trip on Friday but plan to get back on the plan as soon as I get home next Thursday.
Betsy – good job!! 3 lbs in just a couple days. Very cool. And there are actually some bananas on the plan. I always include the banana shake on mine.
Janice – 2 lbs, there you go. Makes up for some of those frustrating .2 days and such. Keep it going.
Diane – Have a good trip. When you get back I’d like to see what happens when you do the hour of brisk walking each day for like 3 days in a row. Just to see what happens.
Big Sexy – wow no weight gain on your off days. That’s great. I fully expect to gain 2-3 on mine. But I got to have me some pizza.
My update – Starting day 8. Veggie day. Was dreading this day, but I made up some veggie chili last night and that will make it much easier. Might have made it too spicy though. Started sweating after a few test bites last night.
Anyway, I am down 7 lbs so far on this cycle.
Oh and another thing that made me smile all day. I went shopping at Old Navy yesterday. Needed a new pair of jeans. It seems like yesterday that size 42 waist was fitting tight on me. The jeans I bought yesterday? Size 34’s.
Granted Old Navy stuff fits looser than most. But I’m still happy.
Good luck all.
Oh who cares about differences in sizes… YOU’RE IN A 34!!!! Yahhhh!!! So happy for you Mike. I can’t wait until I can say the same.
