fat loss 4 Idiots – Will It Help You Lose Weight?
fat loss for Idiots is a site and diet that my wife had learned about from her stepmom. Initially I looked at the Fat Loss For Idiots website and saw that after clicking though a bunch of pages of information I found that the program was only $39.
As a fitness and health enthusiast I know that there are no easy ways out of losing weight so when I first saw all of the hype around fat loss for idiots I was of course initially skeptical.
I have scoured the internet looking for more information on the Fat Loss For Idiots program and would like to present this to you here so that you can make an informed decision when you visit the Fat Loss For Idiots site.
Lose Weight Fast with Fat Loss 4 Idiots?
Fat Loss for Idiots claims you can lose 9 pounds lost in 11 days. Wow, is this possible? You probably have your doubts but I know because I have seen it happen, with the right diet and exercise program you can lose weight and lose it quickly.
Over the last year or so I have received over 200 success stories from people just like you. You can see them below.
After that quick weight loss it is important that you continue eating according to the plan and get some exercise of any kind and you will continue losing weight. The way the diet cycles means that you should lose weight every week with no bad weeks at all.
What do I not like about Fat Loss for Idiots?
Fat Loss for Idiots may be getting a lot of support by a lot of people but it is not all perfect. In watching how people use the diet I have found that some people have real problems with fat Loss for Idiots. First of all there is the dreaded “fruit day” one day of the cycle you eat nothing but fruit. Many people do not like this even though we all know how good fruit is for us.
One other problem with Fat loss for idiots is that you are supposed to eat until satisfied. Don’t stop when you are hungry and do not overeat but just until satisfied. But how much is satisfied? I am not sure what to say about this. People like to have a measured amount of food and doing it yourself is a little stressful.
Fat Loss for Idiots Meal Plan
This is a great part of the fat loss for idiots program
Fat Loss for Idiots food is made up of lean proteins, fruit and vegetables, and the sources of fat come from whole foods (such as cottage cheese or eggs). There are some starchy carbohydrates (such as oats and pasta). The day is divided into 4 meals that should be eaten at a maximum of 2 1/2 hours apart. There is no calorie or carb counting, no limit on portion size – Fat Loss 4 Idiots says you “just eat short of being full”.
After the 11 day meal plan there is a 3 day “cheat” – where you get to eat whatever you want. Then you are back into the 11 day plan again.
The real difference between the fat loss for idiots plan and other plans is that the diet is purposely confusing your body so it never thinks it is starving. This is not a new meal program in that regard. Body for Life and other programs have long advocated confusing your body by having a day or more off of the diet so that you are in more control of how you eat. Fat Loss for Idiots does a good balance of this.
The meal plan is created by selecting from a list of preferred foods. These are then used to generate your meal plan.
Fat Loss for Idiots also includes a very extensive handbook that teaches you how to to eat, how not to eat and what is important in your goal of losing weight.
Exercise on Fat Loss 4 Idiots
Fat loss for idiots is a diet program. One thing and one thing only. The people that come up with the meal plans look at you as a user of the service as a person that is mainly sedentary.
Fat Loss for idiots recommends that you do get some exercise for additional weight loss. They encourage walking and other low intensity exercise of 30 minutes a day.
Fat Loss for Idiots – Is a Cheap Diet Program
Fat Loss For Idiots is a cheap diet. When you buy the diet is gives you access to an online diet generator as well as a diet workbook. Nutritionally it is a reduced carb diet that cycles macro-nutrient ratios (to try and trick your metabolism). It recommends common-sense weight loss principles (brisk walking, plenty of water, etc), and contains only whole foods (no processed foods, high-sugar foods, or supplements).
Here are some good reviews for the fat loss for idiots program:
“I started this diet 3 days ago, and have lost 2 and a half pounds so far.”
“I have now been on this diet for 11 days and have lost 6 and a half pounds. I am very happy with that, especially since I have not exercised or done the recommended walking.”
“On Fat loss for idiots I lost 7 pounds the first 11 days! I’m happy with that considering (like I mentioned) I had not done the suggested walking.”
The really nice thing about the fat loss for idiots diet is that it is cheap, and you buy your own food. No need to buy prepackaged food and expensive supplements which is the downfall that I always find with the more famous diets.
Fat Loss 4 Idiots – Will Work For Most People
There are a few things that seem to be really good in the fat loss for idiots diet and plan. Firstly the cheap nature means that you do not have to buy and create a complex meal plan. Secondly there is a cycling of your diet so that you keep your metabolism from working against you. And thirdly the diet is incredibly popular on the internet and the reason for that is that it seems to work for just about anyone.
Lastly there is a guarantee that this will work or you get your money back. I do not see any way that anyone can lose by at least trying Fat Loss 4 Idiots.
Who shouldn’t do Fat Loss for Idiots?
I have not been critical at all about Fat Loss for Idiots but I have to admit that there are some drawbacks to the diet.
If you exercise a lot Fat Loss for Idiots may not be for you. The diet itself is a diet designed to help you lose weight but people that get a lot of exercise, and hour or more a day, may find that the diet does not offer enough calories.
The diet itself can get a bit boring. There is a lot of repetition in the menu plan but most people seem to be OK with this as this is supposed to be a diet that helps you lose the weight that you want and then you ease off to a diet that you can live with for life.
I Really Recommend Fat Loss for Idiots
There is no magic behind Fat Loss for Idiots but really what it is a good focused meal plan and sensible exercise for beginners. Although this may not seem like much it is very important in my mind to be doing something that will give you the satisfaction that you are making the changes in YOUR life that will help you lose weight. This diet will work for you.
I am a big fan of Fat loss for idiots for no other reason than it is nice and simple, and it really does work, if you follow a diet that changes what you eat and moves you in a better direction nutritionally than what you are now.
And the simple fact is that at $39 fat loss 4 idiots is much cheaper than even a couple of weeks of Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers.

One last thing – If you are looking to lose weight then you need to act now. Buy the Fat Loss for Idiots program today and see where you are in a month.
One month from today, if you commit now, you can be 10-20 pounds lighter. Otherwise, in a month, if you do nothing you will be the same weight or even slightly more than you are today. The choice is yours.

Reading through all the questions has helped me a lot, but i do have another question… I am allergic to milk. I can have VERY small amounts on a regular basis because i’ve learned to control it over the years, but is there a lot of milk products that i should be having in this diet to make it work before i sign up? Any help is appreciated!
Blessings!
This Weight Loss plan actually worked for. It was a bit hard to get used to at first but anyone can actually do it!. Here is the link if you missed it above.

I just started today, and oddly enough I can’t seem to muster up an appetite to even eat all my meals. I just finished meal 2. Later, I’ll have meal 3…but I was wondering do I HAVE to eat all four meals. That’s going to be a bit much for me some days. Will It mess up the diet if I have only 3 meals sometimes???? Please let me know.
A great in depth review of what we also see as one of those ebooks that deliver.
I’m actually on my second round on this diet. I’m on day 5. My first 11 days I lost 7.5lbs. And to me, that was amazing. I was so happy to finally see a diet pay off. I like the fact that I have a meal plan set for me. It makes things easier, I don’t do well with tons of choices. That’s when I have a tendency to fall off the path. My first time around I only lost 2lbs at first. And I was a little discouraged, but I kept going, and after day 8 the rest just melted off.
I will admit, the diet tends to get a little boring, but it fits into my lifestyle. I work 9-10 hours a day so I don’t really have the option to have a diet where I eat 5-6 smaller meals a day. Which was one reason why this diet was so appealing to me. I love the days where you do get a nice treat of frozen yogurt.
Raven, if you don’t want milk, you don’t have to pick milk. You get food choices for your meal plan. And with the foods you pick, a plan is made. I’m a picky eater, so my list is smaller than others. But it’s still food I enjoy eating.
I also love that you get a 3 day break every 11 days. And in those 3 days you’re supposed to indulge. And I LOVE that. It makes the whole “dieting” process alot easier to handle.
I’ll admit I did cheat on day 4. I had something that wasn’t on my list. But I watched how much I ate. And I only cheated for one meal. And it didn’t phase my weight. And today I was supposed to have a garden salad with oranges for one meal. But instead I had a spinach salad with strawberries. I’m sure that didn’t hurt me either. And I think once you get the idea of the diet, you can make small substitutions like that and be just fine.
I’d be more than happy to answer any questions someone might have. Feel free to email me! Smurfete09@gmail.com is the best to reach me.
I have been using this diet for about 1.5 weeks and I have lost about 9 pounds. In just 1.5 weeks! I think its a great and easy diet.
Is there a lot of cooking involved in this diet? I don’t like cooking much. But since nothing is pre-packaged, I assume you have to cook every meal.
Jan, I rarely cook. With the foods I chose, I don’t have to cook hardly at all. I have alot of turkey slices or ham slices.
Hi! I need to loose weight. Help
I don’t know if anyone replies to these comments, but I hope so. I started fatloss4idiots because I was desparate–I’d cut calories to under 800 per day and was not losing weight–I hoped this diet would be my answer. I have followed fatloss 4 idiots for 2 cycles now (25 days). I have lost a total of 5 lbs.– 4 lbs the first cycle and only 1 lb the second cycle. This is discouraging, as I have followed the plan relegiously. Granted, I do not need to lose that much weight–I am 5′4″ tall and weigh 143 lbs. I exercise some, but not a lot (I walk a few times per week, do stretching exercises daily, and run up-and-down stairs all day). Where am I going wrong?
This really does work! And it’s super easy to stick to!
How much do the groceries cost? I live in california. I’m starting this right after 4th of july on Monday hopfully.
Well, I’m going to comment to Sonny — and hope some one will comment on my above frustrations that I only lost 1 lb. For Sonny: Grocery cost is minimal. Its really just plan food (and some spices if you wish to add it). There is no pre-packaged type of stuff. Just very basic food, mostly fresh. Very little bread, no rice or pasta. HOWEVER, you get the 3 cheat days, so that is whatever you want. BUT unlike everyone else I’ve read, I’m losing weight very slowly. It is easy though, and you really don’t feel hungry much. Any one else out there just loosing 1 lb or so per cycle?
iv not got any strawberries in what can i eat instead
iv not got any strawberries in what can i eat instead
that wont harm this diet in 1 bit

A comment to Diane – you’re not alone! I’m almost through my 3rd cycle and have lost a total of about 10 pounds….that’s it! For a diet that claims you can lose 9-11 lbs per week, I’m not happy. I eat EXACTLY what I’m allowed, do whatever I’m suppose to and after 5 weeks, 10 lbs. Granted, I’ve been watching what I’m eating for over a year, (lost 40) so I wasn’t expecting to lose 9 pounds in a week. I wasn’t losing anything for awhile so i wanted something to help me lose. The first cycle I lost 7 and the rest is creeping off, no way melting as they say. Yeah, the diet is easy, but the food combinations aren’t always the best and for what, less than a pound a week???? Give me a break!
Dear
I am 45 years old my weight is 63 kg and mu hight is 5 fit I need to loose weight. so please advice me how I will do this
thanks
i love this 1 week 5 pounds
I am a fan of the Fat Loss 4 Idiots diet because it is not so much focused around the fitness aspect. While exercise does help, it is not essentially needed. I agree with you about people that are very active in exercise should not try this diet.
Great Review! This is a good plan if it is followed. I use bicycling and walking for my exercise. Works well with this plan.
@ Diane- Hi, it sounds like you lead a pretty active lifestyle, how much of your excess is muscle weight vs fat weight? I know the mechanics of the diet are geared primarily toward pure fat loss is why I ask.
@ Simple @ Noushin- I’d be glad to help, have you already ordered FL4I or are you just asking for help in general? If you have specific questions, feel free to ask.
@ Bev- Yeah, it seems this diet may be more effective if you have not been exercising or dieting at all recently, vs in your case where you had been for a year. Congrats on the -40# by the way!
@ Jan- What Sam said, you don’t really have to cook at all if you so choose.
Hi there,
I’d like to try this diet but I am unsure as to what you are actually downloading – is it a program (and will it be Mac-compatible? Is it a pdf file? Is it access to an online site? I’ve checked online and can’t find any reference to what the product you are paying for actually is.
Thanks much!!
Gail
Gail,
You purchase access to their site. Nothing to download at all really. You can print the documents from the web to have a hard copy if you wish. It is mainly a resource to help you choose foods that will help you lose weight. I selected some of the items i like to eat and it puts it together and give me what to eat each day. I must say that chicken and scrambled eggs are not a meal that I think I will enjoy together, but it gives you how to eat.
I can imagine you can tweak a few things here and there as you need to. I will try the plan as I have lost weight by heavy exercise and gained some back due to the lack of exercise. I need something to tell me what to eat to help me. This is where i have always failed. I cannot tell from the information yet if this will TEACH me how to eat. It has a money back guarantee, so take advantage of that if this is not for you. I already eat 3 melas and snacks all day long, but I am guessing I am eating the wrong things.
Good luck!
Hi Jayson-
Thanks very much for that info. I think I will give it a go… and hope it’s easy enough for me to stick to!
Thanks again!
Question, when you purchase the program, so you get the ability to make more than one cycle menu? I guess I am wondering if for the price to you get one menu to follow over and over again, do you get a new one each cycle?
This does work, I lost 10 pounds in less than 30 days, and it was pretty easy actually… It works if you work it…
To Frank: Thanks for the comment. To answer your question, “no” I’m not that active. I was involved in a pretty serious car accident a year ago, which has really put me back–before that I was a dancer and I played racket ball. I’m still trying to get it back. I’m exercising more these days, but it is pretty minimal. But, I’ve always had troble with my weight since I’ve gone from “fat” to anorexic several times in my life, and I’ve had three children. I think as a result, I just have a really SLOW metabolism and its difficult to deal with that.
To Bev: Thanks so much for your comment. Its nice to know I’m not the only one. I’ve started messing with the diet some–Instead of 4 “meals” I’m eating a very small portion on the 4th one so its more like 3 small meals and a snack. And although there are nuts on my program, I know how fattening they are, so I only eat 3 or 4 when they are a part of a meal or I skip them all together, or I’ll eat 2 in between meals (instead of with a meal) to help curb cravings. This seems to be working, as my clothes are getting looser, but I haven’t been back on the scale for a while. Afraid to.
To Ross: You pay one time. The site gives you two columns of foods from which you choose your food preferences, and it spits out an 11-day cycle based on what you entered. For your next cycle you do not pay again, you just use your password. The same food options are given to you so you can put in the same foods or different foods (the list is pretty short and basic). The site will then give you a new 11-day cycle, which, if you picked the same foods, will mix up the combinations (when you eat what). Its very easy and simple. You pay only once.
For everyone: Just a little hint. I ate at TGI Fridays yesterday because I was caught out all day and didn’t have my food choices available. I ordered their Key Lime Shrimp, which was Shrimp on a skewer and steamed broccoli. Although the broccoli wasn’t great (I sprayed it with lemon juice, which helped), the shrimp was wonderful. Of course, I don’t know what they did to it before they grilled it–there was probably oil on it, which is not good. But it was nice to have something I could eat without really cheating bad while I was out.
Hi Gail,
Not sure if you’ve taken the plunge yet but this info may be useful for you. A little while back I used to sell weight loss products including weight loss for idiots. I think someone mentioned in an earlier post that there is a 60 day money back guarantee and that is absolutely genuine. It’s actually managed by the payment processor and not the seller so they simply need a request for the money back and it happens automatically. So you can buy the program and be sure that that you can get you money back if it does not work for you personally. I actually sold over 40 of these programs in my time and I only ever had one refund so although (hands up) I have never tried it myself, I am pretty sure it works for most people. Like I said I don’t sell weight loss products any more as I am now following my passion which is music so I have no axe to grind. Best of luck with whatever you do though.
To All ~ best of luck on the program. As mentioned, it wasn’t the best program for me, but am VERY satisfied with the ease of getting a refund. I canceled it on a Sunday and received and email about the refund the following day. I’v found another program which I think is healthier for me and am getting great(er) results! It’s an 8 week cycle program and i’m just on the 2nd week; I’m hoping the other 7 weeks will work just as well.
TO DIANE:- hello Diane… taking into account the data you’ve provided, i’m forced to think about a medical disorder… might be anything… i’m a doc myself but well… i can’t take ur history online n all but i think it’d be best if u consulted ur physician… tell him everything what u’ve written here… i’m sure hell figure something out…
Marilyn, check out the book “Crack the Fat-Loss Code” by Wendy Chant. You eat 4-6 times a day, every 3 to 4 hours. The meals are NORMAL compared to FLFI….who eats cottage cheese with walnuts?? I find it much easier and healthier; you do have to plan which is normal for anyone eating healthy. I’ve had much better results with this; I’ve lost over 8 pounds in less than 3 weeks, which is AMAZING for me! The first week is the hardest, but compared to the way one has to eat on FLFT, it’s not hard at all. You can pick the book up at any bookstore or Amazon. Let me know how you do if you decide to give it a try!
when you reach your goal, what do you do? i want to keep it off but following the diet for the rest of my life does not sound very appealing. i am aiming for fifteen pounds to shed, so when i am done with this, do i just stop the diet and start excersizing and eating healthy to keep it off?
Great information you have here. Fat loss for idiots is really good for beginners who have no idea what they’re doing.
Yes, Fat Loss for Idiots is not designed to be a lifestyle but more a kickstart to lose weight. Once you are at or near your goal weight then just go and start eating a regular healthy diet. Keep eating the 5 or 6 small meals a day and get exercise every day and you should be doing great.
Hi Im in DAY 2 of my diet today. Just downloaded this program and looking forward to loosing 9 pounds and keeping the weight off. I go to the gym about 3 times a week. My only problem is that I work at a Hotel. I work the night shifts which is 11-7am and I get very sleepy right after. I seem to get really hungry after my shift but I guese i have to wait until I wake up to eat. I have no problem eating meals right when i wake up but I dont feel hungry at all at night so my 3rd or 4th meal isint so appetizing. This might sound a little confusing but my sleeping patterns are different everyday =S which makes it very hard. I hope someone out there can give me some advice. I would grately appreciate it. Thanks!
Ive been unable to lose weight now for around a year due to a really annoying case of hypothyroidism. In a last ditch effort I searched the internet and found info on this diet. I decided to try it. I’m on day three and I’m down 5 lbs!!! I can’t believe that its actually working for me. I know the book says that it will work for people with bad genetics, but I’m still shocked!!!
My only problem is that I actually do feel hungry all the time. I’m eating quite a bit at each sitting, making sure that I don’t feel full and all that. But by two and a half hours later I’m feeling my backbone! Granted, I did just do an entire day of fruit with one deli sandwitch. That was a rough one.
Still, 5 lbs is enough to make me keep going. I just hope it keeps working for me, and doesn’t cut down to 1 lb a cycle like for that lady who wrote.
Thanks for the advice. my sleep patterns are also different every day. I cant work it out.
Day 5 and I’m down 7 lbs! I know that I’ll definitely hit that 9 lbs by 11 days mark…maybe even surpass it! The hungry all the time feeling has dissapated. It was mainly about the fruit day I guess. The only problem I’m having with it right now is that my small city of St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada doesn’t seem to have a ready supply of orange ruffey or sea bass. We have lots of salmon and fresh cod… but that’s about it. haha I’m going to have to look around town to find some for cycle #2.
Have most of you just gone directly into cycle #2 after the three recoup days of cycle #1? Or do you wait a little while. I’m excited to go right into cycle #2 just because I keep imaging my being 20 lbs lighter in one month flat. Crazy! But apparently doable on this diet!!!
I started FL4I four days ago and even though they advise you not to step on the scale, I did, and I have lost 3lbs. These first few days have been a little tough to get used to and since I am a picky eater I am kind of getting sick of eating eggs and tuna all the time, so maybe next cycle I’ll opt for diff foods. I am not used to eating four times a day, I usually eat in the AM and then snack all day and have dinner quite late. Since you have to space out your meals I try to hold off on eating in the AM so that I have my last meal around 7 and don’t end up going to bed quite as hungry. I’ve stuck to the diet so far, I think I cheted on the fruit day and snuck in some of my kids cheerios, but other than that and a glass of wine, I’ve been on track! This diet is easy but takes some getting used to, esp if you are like me and like an occasional burger/fries/chips/sweets, etc. I have been drinking a lot of water, between 6-8 glasses a day like reccommended. I am not a big water drinker so this has been challenging, but I found that filling up a 1.5L water bottle and taking that with me everywhere has helped. After all, it is roughly 6 glasses of water. My goal is to lose 12 lbs by my bday in October and the remaining 8 lbs by Christmas. I am active but don’t always make it to the gym, so this diet really appealed to me! To all you skeptics out there I advise you to try it, so far it seems to be working. I’ll update my success after day 11. Good luck to everyone, happy dieting
Day 6 and I hit 8 lbs this morning!!! Keep you updated. Still going strong and thinking about inventive ways to do my all veggie day without driving myself mad!!!
I cannot believe how many people on this diet find it so difficult to stick to the plan, after all it’s not for ever and it certainly does work. I have done this before for about three months and lost two stone easy, problem is I started back on the beer and the weight soon comes back on so I’d like to say to everyone just stick EXACTLY to the diet (very simple) and it works, if you cheat then it won’t SIMPLE! As it say on the tin ‘FAT LOSS FOR IDIOTS’ very aptly thought out name!
Day 9 and down 11 lbs! I’m aiming for a whopping 13 lbs by the end of day 11… which is CRAZY!!! Veggie day yesterday wasn’t so bad. I made a squash soup and some other zuchini and squash concoction for supper. It wasn’t my favorite meal ever, but it filled the void and got me through.
I’m planning on going directly into another cycle right after this one. I’m just so excited about the results I’m getting AND I’m really not finding it hard. I stopped having cravings on day four and I’m always satisfied so I never go to the fridge to poke around. My next cycle, I’m going to introduce fish into my plan though… and nuts. I didn’t have enough variety this time around. I ate a lot of shrimp and cottage cheese. Tired of cottage cheese now. haha We don’t have orange ruffee and sea bass around here so I’m going to use cod instead. And I’ll check off ham slices too. There’s only so many turkey slices you can have before you get a little tired of them!
Still, all in all, I do love this diet. I’ve never in my life had this much of a weight loss in so quick a period of time. 11 lbs~!!!
Hi, I am having trouble with fruit day of this diet — I don’t eat fruit. I tried but I would really rather not (I end up drinking coffee instead!) Would anyone have any tips to share? I know fruit juice isn’t the best according to the notes, so what are my alternatives? I could eat a banana but bananas are not on the allowed fruits list.
Also, for those who live in the US (I am in Australia), what is squash? Is that pumpkin ie butternut pumpkin? or is it the small yellow squash that look like mini palm-sized zucchinis?
Thanks so much in advance!!
Hi, I have been on the diet for 7 days now and have lost 10 lbs. I find it very easy to follow. I am so happy I started it!!
Way to go Nichole! You’re beating me and I’m pretty impressed by my own results!
Gail, butternut pumpkin is butternut squash. We also have a spaghetti squash, its yellow and looks like a small yellow pumpkin. They’re delicious.
Thanks Janice! I start veggie day tommorow so hopefully I can make it through that. I am really happy and suprised with the results so far, so it keeps me going. I hope I keep losing because I have a long way to go!!lol
Oh Nicole, I feel your pain! I started at 273 lbs and am down to 262 now but I obviously have a very long way to go. I’ve dreamed for years that there could be a way to lose weight quickly but it was just dreams… until now! I don’t know how long I’ll continue to have big drops like this or even if it will happen again, but each day I see a drop in numbers and it encourages me. I’m doing another cycle right after this one. 20 lbs is my goal for total lost by the end of that cycle. Imagine… 20lbs in one month!!!
For veggie day I started with a low sodium motts clamato drink and then had a great salad for dinner, homemade butternut squash soup for supper and by my fourth meal I gave in and ate some fruit! I still lost 2 lbs the next morning. Just try your best. Obviously its working for you.
