This was a funny meandering. Perhaps you could read a textbook on physiology and anatomy and learn about muscular action's relationship with metabolism. We are all active all the time; it's simply a matter of intensity and how long our metabolism can provide for that intensity. Just as you know weight training is a greater intensity than aerobics, and lactic acid threshold is what makes you stop your set in weight training (unless you let your mind, instead of your body, tell you to quit), as well as what makes you stop your session of cardio. Technically, if the body is trained up to it, you could do cardio eight to sixteen hours a day. How do you think these people work on farms and in factories that long? As far as The Biggest Loser, I think people are really buying entirely too much into the red, sweaty faces. This is simply what people should do. The body has the recovery capability. There is enough time for rest in bed and in the grave. Good article, though.
