More details emerge on why How Protein Aids Weight Loss. It seems that the small intestine notices the protein and keeps you filled up. Now I am not a big fan of Atkins as we all know but I do believe that if you are exerciseing especially exercising with weights a lot then you will want to take in more protein.

Protein is one of the building blocks of muscle along with lots of water so when you have a meal higher in protein and I mean higher meaning maybe 30% of calories from protein not 70 like Atkins would have you eat, then I make sure that I am taking in a lot more water. I have tried to eat these higher protein meals for years and also I try to get a lot of fruits and vegetables as well. The one piece of the puzzle I may be low on is taking in enough grains although I do try to eat my All Bran every morning for the Fiber.
