One question that I get emailed about more than almost anything else lately is “How can I get on the Biggest Loser?”

I know that many people are interested in the show, after 7 or 8 seasons now people have seen so many success stories on the Biggest Loser that they can’t help but think that there is no way that they can lose the they want to lose without getting on the biggest loser.

I for one don’t believe that at all, no matter if you want to lose 20 in one month or lose 100 pounds in a year there are always ways to lose the without going on a TV show. Really! Believe it.

How to get on the Biggest Loser

Ok, now after that if you really want to know how to get on the Biggest Loser I have a plan that won’t guarantee anything but I think will improve your chances to get on the Biggest Loser.

Just to let you know, you need to be a resident of the US to get in. no Canadians or others allowed

Before you get started go to the Biggest Loser Casting page.  Click here for entry rules and procedure.

First of all, you have to fill out an application form at the NBC site and send in a video. As you can imagine there are quite a few people trying to get on the Biggest Loser and the only way that the people in the casting department can narrow down this huge list is by kicking people off the list or finding exceptional people.

The only way that you can be chosen for the Biggest Loser is to have an impressive application and video, there is no other way to make an impression.

Biggest Loser Application Tips

The application is long, 9 pages in fact so print out a couple of copies. Make one rough copy with lots of notes and give yourself at least a couple of days to really lay out what is important and what will be qualities that set you apart from everyone else trying to get on the Biggest Loser.

After you have filled out all the notes then get another copy of the application and print all the answers very clearly in the space provided. Keep your answers very clear and direct, do not use any unnecessary words, this is one of only two ways to impress those judges.

Biggest Loser Video Tips

The video that you make is going to be the real way of setting yourself apart from all of the other people trying to get on the Biggest Loser TV Show. Try to have the best production quality that you can.

As far as the length of video make sure that it is not any longer than 10 minutes. As you can imagine there are a lot of videos to get through and the people casting the Biggest Loser are going to only want to spend a few minutes and if they have not been caught by you by then they will move on to the next tape.

Make sure that your video is fairly closeup, you do not want to be too far away from the camera and no one should have to strain to hear what you have to say.

biggest loser

Try to be very upbeat, not like you are crazy but on the other hand, remember that they casters for the Biggest Loser are going to be looking for people that are fun and interesting to watch. If you are just heavy but will not draw in viewers then people will not want to tune into the show, so you will not be chosen.

Make sure you do wardrobe changes. Show the casting people on the Biggest Loser what you look like in a bathing suit, workout clothes, regular clothes and this way that will also get a feeling for what you are like.

Finally, let the viewers of your video know what you are like and why you should be on the show. which helps you to be very clear as to why you need to be on the show, your past successes and failures, your weight loss history and how you want to make the change for you and the people around you.

Will you get on the Biggest Loser?

As you probably know that chances of getting on the Biggest Loser are slim but unlike a lottery they are going to pick 16 people every season so there is a chance if you present yourself well to actually get on the show.

Good Luck, if you do get on the Biggest Loser leave a comment and let us know.

  1. Hi everyone, i am 28 years old and have been over my whole life. I am now 260 and very unhappy. I have tried diets (a joke) i have tried 6 week body makerover (a joke) slim fast ( which i did lose from) and i workout 5 days a week. I am having trouble knowing what to eat. I dont have that down just yet. I dont eat chips and salty for, but like sweets. (chocolates) I just need help with an eating plan. Need some help

  2. They really need to make a teen version of this… I’m 16, 5’10”, and weigh well over 300 pounds. People at school have started targeting me for nasty, personal jokes and such and as a quiet person, it hurts. I think if they had a teen version of this, it might not only helo for the health aspect, but also build self-confidence, and face it. What teenager doesn’t need a boost?

  3. Hi

    Thanks

  4. I want to be on this show really bad. I am 18 years old 5’10 and I way over 350 lbs. I get tired just going up the stairs and I can’t play sports with any of my friends. My little cousins always want to play, but I always need an excuse as to why I can’t and it’s because I get tired easily. I tried almost every diet possible, I tried starving myself, and I tried going to a gym but I always end up gaining more instead of losing it.

  5. I suspect that some of the fast loss tactics on the Biggest Loser are dangerous just to make good TV. But I’m thinking about it. Does anyone know how the taping works? Are they at the ranch for 12-17 weeks without any breaks? Then they’re on their own for three months and then they shoot the final? It’s confusing because they say they tape up to a year but how do these contestants hold a job?

  6. Do you not have an editor or spell check. I mean seriously if you are going to blog or write about something, use the common sense to spell check.

  7. Hi. I received a callback, got an email after that to send in video, additional questions, bio and background check. Have not heard back yet, but has anyone of you all had the same thing happen?

  8. hey dont pay atension to that if you read this youll die or you will gane fat then youll become the fattest person ever just kidding

  9. how can I get on the show when i don’t have any friends people I stay in my house and don’t get out much would like to make my life better

    2) I want to show all those people and to the world being obese is not permanent problem, yes you can change and be what you want to be if you dcide to.

    3) I want to transform myself into healthy, energtic person before next year.

    4) I want 270lbs now and have a huge task of losing close to 120, 130 pounds by end of this year.

Looking forward to be part of this prograam and show the world – Yes i can be fit and healthy.

  11. To Brandon: I am over myself, you have to make a life style change, if you want it you can do it. I got the wii console and the wii fit and the Biggest Loser for the wii and I do it every day. I’ve lost 13 pounds in 2 weeks and thats a good healthy to lose. because you are so heavy, you might lose more every week if you try hard. Also you might want to start by just walking every day for the first 2 wks for 15 mins none stop, keep hydrated with water. then after 2 wks up your walk to 30 mins. and so on. by the 6th week you should be walking for an hour. and keep that going, and add some cardio and strength training. Only drink water, nothing else. Start eating healthy foods like, fruits and veggies and LEAN protein. No more fast foods, no more chips, no more sugars ( Cake, brownies, cookies) You have to change what and how u eat. That is very important. Please do this for your self and the will start to pour off. Keep me posted if you decide to do this. i would like to hear how your doing. Thanks Carol from Alabama

  12. Hi my name is Brandon. I am 15 going on 16 years of age. I weigh about 435 pounds. I am almost twice the sizes of both of my parents. I am scared for my health and life. I have always told myself i was happy with myself. Then one day I was walking to class and I was sweating and breathing very heavily from just a 30 second walk. I knew it just wasn’t right. So I tried to exercise and I just didn’t lose any and it was because my eating habits didn’t stay the same but got worse. I ate maybe 8-10 thousand calories a day. I just gave up after awhile and just comforted myself with food. When im sad i eat, when im happy i eat, when im angry i eat, when im tired i eat. There just wasn’t an end to it, and there still isn’t. Please I am here to look for advice on my massive problem. If you have any advice on where to begin please do so.

    Thank You,
    Brandon Ochoa

  17. Hi my name is Megan I’m 16 years old and I weigh 245 pounds. My mom Patty weighs about 200 something pounds. We have been trying diets for a long time, we have tried in 3 days you would lose ten pounds diet, and we just couldn’t stay on it. We have been a member of the YMCA for a year and we barely went. Someday I would like to be a doctor but until then I want to lose so my patients will believe that I’m serious about my job. I don’t like the fact that I don’t have a boyfriend, every time a guy flirts with me I push him away because I don’t like the way I look so I think about how I will not be good enough for him. I always where a hooded sweatshirt or a long sleeve shirt to try to hide away the fat during the winter and in the summer I where a light jacket to hide it but it never seems to make me feel better. My mom wants to be able to have more energy because every night after work she usually takes a shower and go lays in bed. She is a diabetic and her left knee is bad so she had surgery on her metal knee in her right leg. She is in pain most of the time with her knee because of her . I’m tired of seeing her in pain a lot and I know if we both lost the we would have more energy to do more activities together. So I hope that my mom and I get chosen to be on the biggest loser because we need to change our lives around and I need to begin mine.
