Laura at Starling Fitness has a great post today about keeping an exercise log. I have in the past kept a log of my exercise but not so much these days. They say (whoever they are) that if you can’t track it then it doesn’t count. This is really true. One of the problems that most people have with ongoing exercise and their motivation is that if you do not know where you have come from you do not know how well you have done and the days and weeks stretch on with no end in sight. Weight Watchers has people keeps a journal of what is eaten and the points everyday and what you did for exercise, this is really great and simple. I wrote a piece on journaling a little while back and one of the things that I said there was that if it is simple you will continue and if it is difficult then you will probably let it go. The other thing that is great when you are tracking what you are doing is that you can have short and long term goals and you can see how you are getting closer to these goals by tracking your progress. This is especially true if you want to track mileage or weight lifted or even just the number of hours that you worked out. Looking to make a change and lose some weight? I have reviewed the top diet on the internet and you can go and read over 200 comments people have made about why this diet has worked well for them, as well as some of the problems.
