Fat Loss for Idiots

I have no idea how people will feel about this post but a couple of days ago Oprah had Kirsie Alley on again. There was hype on TV all week that Kirstie Alley would be on again and hints that she gained back her weight. Well in the big releal, yes she did gain the weight back plus apparently 20 pounds.

This story makes me mad for a lot of resasons. I follow celebrity stories a bit and never have emotion about them but this time I did.

Kirstie Ally has all the opportunity in the world. She has the fame of being an ex-TV star, she was a spokeperson for Jenny Craig, almost any trainer would love to work with her and probably for free. And in the end after weight loss Kirstie Alley would have anything that she wants, health, fame, fortune and all that stuff. Good drivers anyway

So, Kirstie Alley seems to have all the ingredients: opportunity, resources, and any number of great goals.

This what makes me mad. So many people are trying everyday to find an hour to workout, many people do not have the time but cram in the time somehow. Knowledge is everywhere on the internet although trying to wade through all the junk and try to find the information that you need for weight loss is difficult yet people are still doing it, trying to imporve their health and their lives.

And here Kirstie Alley is on Oprah joking about how she turned her gym area into a dining room (why do fat people love to make jokes about food) and part of the Oprah show was about how she is launching a weight loss program.

Kirstie, maybe you should have kept the weight off before launching a weight loss program!

I hope the bit of anger that I have does come across here. The first time kirstie alley alley got famous again was becuase she gained a lot of weight and then she was absolutly nonapollogetic about it saying that she had dieted for too many years to stay thin for TV. Next step was a Jenny Craig funded weight loss that got her thin using a nice kickback from Jenny Craig and after that ended she just gives it up.

Is this how a celebrity role model is supposed to act?

So I am sure we in for another weight loss and a plugging of a new weight loss program, Kirstie Alley says that she has lost 20 pounds in the last three weeks by working 18 hours a day on her new diet program but she appears not to be exercising it is likely from not eating and the stress of working so many long hours which I would have to day is a terrible and dangerous way to lose weight and usually leads to some sort of breakdown.

I wish Kirstie Alley all the success that she can achive but I would really like to see an all around attitude and lifestyle change instead of the little bit that I saw on Oprah on Friday.

This is not about what resources are available. It is systemic, and it is about wholness. The roots of any addiction are deep and difficult to loosen, let alone sustain. Celebrities have the additional stress of being scrutinized by the public with an unfortunate focus on the image of someone, and not their essence. In the end, the struggle is about being physically, spiritually and emotionally healthy, not about how much someone weighs.

Watching Kirstie and Oprah “chew the fat” (pun intended!) on national TV about dieting is like watching two Sumo wrestlers discussing ballet! Yeah, they know how to temporarily “diet” but haven’t got a clue about CHANGING THEIR EATING LIFESTYLES.

Heck, why don’t they just hire someone to follow them around wherever they go and slap food away from their mouths when they go over 1,400 calories per day? That’d be far more effective than their yo-yo dieting binges. They both disgust me.

kirstie is a lazy slob. I bet she NEVER gets any exercixe. just sits on her spreading ass and eats and wants the world to kiss her ass. by the way there is no such thing is a BBW !

I could get her ass in shape but I doubt she would keep it off. Diets don’t work. Working out does.

      LArd bucket kirstie !

Kirstie, don’t let anyone put you down. I’m with you.

In August, at 5′-10″, I weighed in at 265 pounds. Everyone says “You’re so tall so you don’t look that heavy, you look great, you carry it so well!!! (the catch-phrase)”.

When I told my friends that I’m down to 235 as a result of eliminating all high fructose corn-syrup products and a regular walking program since August, there’s been nothing but push-back. Not sure why, but that’s what’s been happening. Many of them liked me to be as overweight as I used to be and so out of control. Still, I know what makes me feel good, what makes me feel well and am trying to remain objective while pushing all the negative feedback aside.

Do what feels most healthy and best for you!

    5. People are always so fascinated with celebrity weight loss (and gain!) A lot of it is just drama!
