What is the Master Cleanse Diet?

I believe no matter what some people say that the master cleanse diet is a great idea for everyone to try at some point. I will tell you a bit why.

Most of us go through life having some up and down days and exercise or try to eat better to improve how our energy, concentration and look are. Not trying to hard but doing what we can.

Well for some people that is just not enough. I know that years ago I was the picture of fitness and then through some bad decisions my body started feeling not so great. My wife had to do one of those one day cleanses and I jumped at trying it as well just for a lark on a Sunday.

I can tell you I felt great the next day and for weeks afterwards. That one day cleanse changed the way I looked at cleanses although sometimes the medical community is slow to pick up on the results.

Anyone that has listened to the Howard Stern show on the radio, or has seen the movie Private Parts has seen Robin Quivers, the straight girl to Howard’s crazy antics. Well I just ran across a quote from a People magazine article where she said the following about doing a detox cleansing called the Master Cleanse diet:

“This wasn’t about loss,” says Quivers, who traces her health problems to steroid-based medication that she took in 1989 to regulate her menstrual cycle, “I was really trying to regain my health, and that’s what it did.”

“She’s a whole different person, “says Howard Stern producer Gary Dell’Abate, “I’ve been with her 20 years, and I’ve never seen her this happy and confident.”

As a fitness and health blogger I get lots of people asking and commenting on how good cleanses are for them in general and the master cleanse diet it particular and I know that the medical community is split, but once you do a cleanse, a proper cleanse, you will see and feel the difference as your body becomes much more powerful and you have better concentration and clarity.

Many people will do some kind of fast or detox or cleanse or whatever you call it to lose and although you will lose some it is like starvation , it will come back over time. If however you do the master cleanse diet with the right idea, to make your body healthier and more efficient then you are going to jump start yourself to losing much more easily because you will be in fact making your body work better and you will not be fighting the toxins in your body at all.

What is the Master Cleanse Diet?

Out of all the cleanses out there I had heard that the Master Cleanse is the best one. The master cleanse is also known as the lemonade diet or the cayenne pepper and lemonade diet. The 10 day diet is the detox method that you hear about celebrities doing and having success with. I just also heard from my wife that the girls on The View were talking about the Master Cleanse last week and Beyonce used it in getting read for the movie Dreamgirls. The Master Cleanse diet is free and you can buy the stuff for it at the suppermarket but really it is very very tough to follow through on

Why is the Master Cleanse Diet Tough?

At the start of the Master Cleanse diet everyone is excited but after the first or second day a lot of people bail out. It is importnat ot go through the full 10 days of the Master Cleanse diet and after a lot of searching I have found a way that should help you.

I have found a great and cheap product that not only teaches you how to do the Master Cleanse but since it is so difficult for the 10 days it is also a guide on how to do the cleanse most successfully so that you do not quit half way through.

I have never recommended a fast or cleanse before because I never ran across one that had the support system for it. I could make up a cleanse right now that would probably be good but if I had no support system for anyone to go through is then what would be the point, by lunch the first day you would drop it for a hamburger.

  1. Lemonade Diet Day 2. Hello World, this is my 2nd day on the diet. I feel fine physically, just very lethargic. I haven’t had a hunger headache so far today. I keep thinking about various foods. But I have been able to control myself. I thought this was going to be much harder, but so far I think I have it under control. I believe what helps is the fact that i’m NOT HUNGRY! It would be so much harder if my stomach was growling. However, I don’t feel like I’m starving myself. I do still have several questions. 1. Is it ok for me to workout while I’m on the diet? Or will I be over exerting myself, being that I’m not eating. 2. Is it ok for me to suck on a lollipop or chew gum? I would be satisfied if I had some type of flavor in my mouth. 3. I drink exactly 6 cups of lemonade and the rest of the day I just drink pure water. Am I getting the full effect of the diet this way or should I drink more lemonade? 4. I cannot tolerate spicy foods very well, so I only put one pinch of cayenne pepper per one liter of water, is this ok? Thank you for your time….I’ll be back tomorrow. If I could do this; ANYONE CAN!!       I started the MC today, but I have had past expeirences. I chew gum whcih was all sugarless, and it did not effect my loss. I probly would not consume the lollipops. I drink about six cups of lemon mixture and water as well with no interuptions to my wieghtloss. At first I could not bare the taste of the cayenne pepper in my lemon so I did not use it, but the after reading that the spice helps kill the hunger pains, and I always have hunger pains….I started using it. The more spicy the better to keep me from being so hungry, but since you don’t have hunger pains you should be good. The MC works different for all of us, and if you feel good, comfortable, losing ….if that is your goal….you are doing just fine.

    2. a1. do low intensity workouts like eliptical at a slow pace, don’t over exhert yourself because you’ll just feel extra crappy
      a2. Chewing gum or sucking on a lollipop are considered cheating. if you want flavor drink some lemonade OR some herbal tea
      a3. the cleanse instructions are 6-12, but I think you have to drink a minimum of 6 to keep your calories up and to stay out of starvation mode.
      a4. If the cayenne is too spicy in your juice, I’ve heard of people taking cayenne gel caps instead. The cayenne supposedly helps boost your metabolism or something like that.
      i think if you’re going to go through the trouble of doing the cleanse, you should try to do it as best as you can to get all the benefits and results!

  2. I am 26 years old and after the birth of my first child almost 3 years ago I cant seem to lose any !!! I was 116 when I found out I was pregmant and during those 9 months I gained over 40 pounds… I have never heard about this cleanse until yesterday MAy 8, and I quickly brought all the stuff I needed and this morning started !!! I am not sure how everything works…. How many cups of the cleanse you drink and for how long I should stick with it! I am 5″ 3 and 155 ,I am a zise 12 and want to lose 20 to 30 pounds maybe more .. I just need someone to guide me through this! Is there any other tips you could share with me!? PS I am very active person and already eat very health!!!

  3. Hey guys! I’m starting the cleanse this week. Tomorrow im doing nothing but orange juice then im starting the cleanse on the 10th. I’m a lil nervous but i believe i can do it. I found my Grade B maple syrup at a Fresh Foods market, and I have all my materials ready!! WISH ME LUCK!!

      Did you follow the instruction well? I mean, did you make sure to drink either the SWF or laxative tea at night/morning? ‘Coz I’m on my 4th day and I’ve been losing at least 2lbs each day since my first day on the cleanse. Oh and don’t forget the cayenne pepper. If you’re having a hard time with bowel movement, I suggest you do the SWF method because it’s more aggressive and effective. I’m taking both laxative tea and SWF, but not at the same time. I drink the tea at night before bed then SWF when I wake up.

    2. I am on day 2 of the cleanse and feeling ok, a little tired. I had a massive headache yesterday but it’s gone now. I have done the cleanse before last year and I lost 11lb in 10 days. I was also frustrated like some of you as the first couple of days I didn’t lose a single lb but towards the end it seemed to fall off, so don’t give up! I remember last time the first 3 days were the hardest then by day 4 I was starting to feel good! By day 10 I felt that I could have kept going. Good luck to you all!

  4. Hello!!! I’m on day 6 and I have actually experienced GAIN? My starting was 191 and by day 2 i dropped to 185.4…my cycle began the next day and I have since ballooned right back up to 192 =(. I’m hoping that this is just water retention and it will fall off…but it’s been there for 2 days so I’m a little frustrated. I stopped doing the SWF because I think that’s adding to the problem and replaced it with an additional laxative tea. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    1. Hi charlie,

      I suggest you take the SWF instead of the laxative tea. I’m not sure why you think that the SWF is adding to the problem because after about 10-15 mins after drinking the salt-water solution, you should be able to feel some bowel movement. I’m only about to finish my 4th day and so far I’ve lost about 5-6 lbs. I don’t drink the whole 32oz of SWF coz I can’t handle all of it, but it still works well for me. So, why don’t you give it another try. Make sure to use organic non-iodized salt, as well.

      1. SWF = Salt-Water Flush. It’s a mixture of 32-oz pure/filtered water with 2 teaspoons of uniodized sea salt. You can use different variations, like less salt if you can’t handle the flavor or you can do how i do it, since it’s super effective on me, I only drank at least 3/4 of the mixture. It’s more natural and effective than using the laxative tea, at least in my opinion.

  5. so im starting this diet today and im really nervous! i wana lose 30lbs and im wondering if i could extend the days to maybe 15days instead of doing it for 10days.would that be ok? and do i have to do the saltwater flush and drink the laxative tea thing? can i just follow the diet and drink the lemon juice and whatever im suppose to mix with it? hope to here from u soon! wana start this asap

Hi Kelly, Yes you can do it for longer than 10 days up to 40 days if yu want and it is safe but if you have health issues my advice is to consult your Dr first if you have no health issues than your good to go BUT you MUST drink the tea every night before bed and have the SWF in the mornings or simply drink the tea before bed and in the mornings and that’s a MUST DO you wont get rid of that toxic waste in your system only on the lemonade juice and if you want to lose than you should follow this diet to the T for proper results….see getting rid of the toxic from your system is what will help you lose ….Good Luck… let me know how it goes ok (-:

      1. ok ill just drink the tea in the morning and at night.but i go to school so i dont wana sit on the toilet for hours.how long does it take? im on my second day but i havent drank the tea or anything.do i have to start all over? and exactly what tea are you talking about?

        the whole toilet action won’t take long. trust me. i just started this cleanse last saturday and so far this whole toilet action hasn’t been the biggest thing that i worry about. BUT, you do need to take either one of the SWF/laxative tea. if you want effectiveness to release all those toxins out quick, then i suggest you try the swf method. it is hard in the beginning. 32oz of salt water is really a lot to drink at once. but i never had to finish any of it and i still end on the toilet…if u know what i mean =)
        as for the maple syrup…i read that it is very important that u only use maple syrup grade b as it provides more nutrients compare to grade a syrup. i know, it’s hard to find all these necessary ingredients for this cleanse, even myself had to go to 3 or 4 different stores just gather mines. but, if you really want to see good result and feel healthier, i suggest you put more effort to make this work. good luck! =)

  6. Hey! Im so excited! Starting Tomorrow, but I’m 14, 150p, and 5’6. My parents don’t know and please don’t tell me NOT to do this because I am, but I can get away with Bfast and Lunch but Dinner I might not be able to skip…..any tips? Also will it not work if you dont do the SWF, and if i need to, How long will it take like in the bathroom? Like will I be literally on the toilet in pain for 30 mins? And obviously I cant buy the Grade B stuff, because my rents dont know….so what is the “secret” way of doing this?? Please give me tips!

    1. Hey, i am 16 years old. I weigh 165 lbs and am 5’6 also. I think maybe eat light for dinner, maybe a salad with lots of veggies and try to skip eating any bread products. Since youre still young, try to snack on oranges, bananas etc. nuts might help any cravings too. try to cut back on cheese products. (my downfall is cheesecake). hope this helps.

Hi , I did the master cleanse last year and I lost 15 Lbs in 10 days and I felt Great , did not do the salt flush, drink tea instead but the second time around did not made it past day 2 because I was sooooo Hungry all the time , I was dizzy and felt really bad …reason…I was pregnant !!!!!! so listen to your body, read the books , talk to your doctor …. this cleanse is great , but Please listen to your Body ….ofcourse I will try again… Good Luck !!!!!!!

    I just started the Master Cleanse today and so far, so good. I’m not able to do the SWF, hope that’s okay? Also, would it be bad if I just drank 4 glasses a day? I’m doing it just to get a jumpstart in my loss even more because of my wedding in July! I’ve lost 31 lbs on Weight Watchers and just want an extra push. I plan on doing the “phase out” part of the cleanse and going right back to WW. I’m very scared I’d gain the back! Can anyone help and tell me if I do the phase out process then WW again, will I gain the I lost on the MC back?

    1. Hi Guys! I’m starting the diet tomorrow and i’m really hoping that I can be strong and go through with it. I really don’t have time to do the SWF in the mornings so i’m wondering if it’s ok to skip it and drink the laxative tea after work which is like past 5ish??       1. Hey Katie! If I were you, do the tea at night, but make sure that you have enough time to use the bathroom when you wake up in the morning. So just wake up thirty minutes earlier, or wake up randomly at like 5 or 6 am in the morning to use the bathroom. I actually just drank the Smooth Move laxative tea like twenty minutes ago. Since I have to leave for work at 8:30 am, I will wake up at like 5am to try and use the bathroom. If I can’t go, I will wake up again thirty minutes earlier. Good luck!

    Am starting tomorrow. Researched about it, been wanting to try for qute some time. Not worried abbou the willpowr part so much, did ten days on unflasvored whey protein berfore. Work at a gym, workout regularly but, 27, one child eat healthy 85% of the time, enjoy cocktails with collegueaes. Been stuck forever. Currently 5’8” 175 athletic and proportionate…looing for the last 20 and just some energy.

    Senna tea tonight, SWF bright and early. could only get my hands on grade a syrup hope its not a prob. would love support, compare notes etc.

      1. Actually you can use any of the 4 U.S.D.A approved grades of maple syrup and get Proper results like many people have and still do. You wont get proper results if you substistute the maple syrup. Lighter grades; Grade A Light Amber & Grade A Meduim Amber, which were formerly known simply as Grade A. Like I said these grades are mild in taste, sweet & with less mineral content then the darker grades. You have Grade A Dark Amber formerly known as Grade B. Dark Amber has more mineral & more “maple taste” .You have Grade B fromerly known as Grade C, with even more minerals & the strongest maple flavor. ALL GRADES can be USED in the diet! “Again” But the DARKER GRADES are most Desirable. The grading system is based purely on the relatively deepness of the amber colouring & has nothing to do with the quality of the syrup!!!!!! I know Grade B maple syrup is not reachable to many due to where they live but if your interested in knowing more about the GRADES read page 17 of the Master Cleanser book by Stanley Burroughs…The maple syrup has a large variety of minerals & vitamins. Naturally the mineral & vitamins content will vary according to the area where the trees grow & the mineral content of the soil.

For those who don’t ahve the book: These are the minerals found in the average samples of pure maple syrup; Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Manganese, Iron, Copper, Phosphorus, Sulfur, & Silicon. Vitamin A. B1. B2, B6, C & Pantothentic Acid (B5) are also present int he syrup. If anyone wants to know what’s the Purpose, when to use it, how to make it and how often. Please don’t hesitate to ask… I don’t mind….I don’t know everything by I go by the book…Many people. Hello armywife2011, I wish you luck in your journey …If by any chance anything goes wrong *fingers cross that nothng does* let me know a few days in advance and maybe we can start on Sat 16th and we can do it together, it’s always better to do it with someone. I set my days to start from Mon to Sat no longer than that but I see myself starting on Sat since I have to bake and cook for fam coming over. I’m doing 40 days but I’m breaking my days so I might do it much longer…I had to order my ingredients online except the lemons..I didn’t have luck finding Grade B maple syrup myself so I settled for Grade C There are 4 U.S.D.A. approved grades of maple syrup. The difference is that the lighter Grades like Grade A are mild in taste, sweet, and with less mineral content than the darker grades. The dark amber has more mineral & more maple taste. All grades can be used in the diet but the darker grades are most desirable. If you live in the US there are lot’s of places you can find it even online..I live in the UK so you can’t find Grade B anywhere and I wish I had grade B because I would like the extra minerals and taste since I’m doing it for a long period..I am still going to search online till I find Grade B..Hope this was helpful best of Luck…

  12. So, I would like to get started, but I work 7 days a week. I need to know about the less glamorous side of this cleanse, the bathroom part. How bad is it? Is it something I need to request off for?

    1. Hey Heather!
      I am getting ready to do this cleanse for the 2nd time. I did it for the first time about 2 years ago with my wife (it helps to have someone do it with you) and it was difficult but very reqarding. It is true that the “bathroom part” is less glamorous. You do not need to take time off work but you just need to make sure you are close to the bathroom for about an hour or so after taking the saltwater in the morning. This is a big part of making this cleanse work and it WILL flush out your system. I only went for 10 days the first time around. I lost 17 pounds and felt amazing. I felt healthier, my skin felt smooth and refreshed! I am excited to start round 2 in the next day or so.

I was going to start the Master Cleanse between 1 & 2 weeks –But- I really want to begin this detox with someone than doing it by myself for support and motivation which sadly I been lacking from.     2. (Part 1)Hi Heather, I agree with DietFan! You don’t have to take off from work to do this detox. I knew a few people who take their lemonade drink to work and continue their everyday normal life. I read somewhere a group of people that worked in the same floor all did the Master Cleanse together, I thought that was pretty awesome anyway, Just make sure you have a bathroom available & nearby after your “flush” (s ) “Especially after the SWF” (salt water flush), it tends to be more effective well at least to me it is the few times I tried it. I don’t know how it works for everyone else though. Your suppose to drink your tea before bed & your SWF 1st thing in the morning on an empty stomach but I have the master Cleanse book and it says you can have the SWF before bed and the tea in the morning.

        I just wanted to say that you have really motivated me with this master cleanse diet. I need to lose 20lbs. with this diet. This is day two for me and I am not sure how long I should keep this diet going for if I want to lose 20lbs. I know that while being on this diet it is important to go to the bathroom. Instead of doing the SWF, I instead bought a tea from the grocery store called Smooth Move which is supposed to make you go to the bathroom. What do you think about this? Another question I have is what are you talking about drinking a tea at night and then SWF in the morning? What is the tea and how do you make it? And how do you make the SWF? Sorry, I’m asking so much questions, but I just wanna make sure that everything I am doing is okay. Last question lol, how many hours were you going to the bathroom for after you drank the SWF?

      2. Hi Dee Dee, (Part 1) Some people do this detox from 10 to 40 days and it is safe to do. Why don’t you try doing it for 10 to 14 days and see what your results are?! Just remember this is a cleansing diet not a diet program. Yes, it is important to use the bathroom during this cleanse it’s the only way you will eliminate the poison in your system. If you use the bathroom several times a day even better. I also use Organic Smooth Move (herbal stimulant laxative) Tea so your good. In the book says to drink a cup before bed and a cup in the morning. CONTINUE>

      3. Dee Dee (Part 2) Another Cleaning Aid is: Internal Salt Water Bathing (SWF) which is the method most people are using today & will clean the entire digestive tract. If the SWF method doesn’t work for you than drink the Sooth Move Tea or any laxative herb tea before bed and in the morning.

        DIRECTIONS; Prepare a full quart (32oz) of luke-warm water and add 2 tsp of uniodized sea salt, For this detox I use the Organic Celtic Sesalt . Do not use oridinary oidized salt as it will not work properly. Drink the entire quart of salt and water first thing in the morning, This must be taken on an empty stomach, this will quickly and thoroughly wash the entire tract in abour one hour. Several eliminations will likely occur. For future refrence SWF can be taken often as needed for proper washing of the entire digestive system. Good Luck & let me know how it goes…

      4. Thank you so much for all the advice. The reason why I use the organic tea is because I only have to drink 8oz. of it at a time and I think that the taste is absolutely horrible! How does the SWF taste? Drinking 32oz. of that is a lot for me! Today is day three for me on this diet and I do still have the urge to eat, I really want to eat! Day 1 and 2 were horrible for me because I was getting really bad headaches (and I do not drink any form of caffeine or energy drinks and nor have I ever smoked before in my life). Already I have lost about 5lbs and this is Day 3. Hopefully I can reach my goal of 20lbs in 10 days. After this I plan to do the Special K diet for 2 weeks so I can drop a jean size lol (you can lose around 6lbs or so while on this diet for two weeks)! (Part 2) So which ever works best for you “AS LONG AS YOU DO BOTH” because like DietFan said it’s going to help you flush? … Another option is; If you decide to do the tea before bed I suggest you do the SWF once you get to work & vice versa to avoid lil’ accidents on your way to work, trust me the SWF is no joke lol…I am almost sure if you have the tea in the morning & the SWF before bed the effects should be the same, I never tried it that way but will one day to see what the difference is. Me and my niece once tried the flush without the detox, we had the tea the night before and the SWF in the morning and we both had almost the same results I began to use the bathroom between 15 to 20 minutes then every few minutes apart and made 4 to 5 trips to the bathroom she began using the bathroom half hour later but every few minutes just like me & about as many times as I did. It’s best that our ingredients for this detox are Organic and 100% pure for better results. If you think the tea is horrible than you’re deft not going to like the SWF most people don’t & yes 32 0z is a lot but that’s what this detox/diet requires. Salt & water is really nasty BUT works really great, just down it as quick as you can OR stick to the tea have it before bed and mornings. Don’t give up Dee Dee your doing well just stay focus. Try to think of it as a detox rather than a diet that way you can laser focus without stressing how much you’re losing or not and tell yourself it is something you need to regardless “thinking this way will help” I know it’s easier said than done but you can do it. It’s only 10 days of your life “It might seem like torture but 10 days will go by fast. Just stay active so time goes by quicker.

      2. Dee Dee (Part 2) if you get urges to eat food DON’T! Simply drink water or more lemonade juice. Tell yourself NO I won’t cheat. In the cleaning process, some people experience a tremendous stirring up and may even feel worse for several days. It’s not the lemonade that causes the trouble, but what the lemonade stirs up in the system that causes our dizziness and other disturbances. Vomiting may occur under certain conditions; increased pain may be felt in the various joints of the body; dizziness may be developed on certain days. If weakness develops at any time, it is the result of poisons circulating through the blood stream rather than a lack of food or vitamins.

      3. Dee Dee (Part 3) this diet gives a person all the vitamins, food & energy necessary for the full 10 days or longer in a liquid form. Rest & take it a little easier if you have to- although most people can go on about their regular business without difficulty keep right on with the diet; don’t give up or “cheat” by eating a little food or you may destroy the benefits. I tried the Special K diet I lost a few lbs back when I tried it. After my detox for 40 days or more I will get on a low carb diet and raw food diet…Eat lots of fruits and veggies and stay away from processed foods. That’s good you don’t smoke this April will make 1 year I quick smoking yay for me and I can’t wait till I start the Master Cleanse.     4. Everyone is effected differently. I do not have the horrible “pooping” issues that many have on it (I am only 4 days in, so maybe I am speaking too soon). You will never know until you try it:-) Perhaps you could do a just a few days on it? It’s great… I had my doubts, but I do feel energized and as a plus, I have lost 6 lbs and I am not an obese woman! Good luck in whatever you decide.

If you follow the instruction you can’t go wrong, and you will see results. Also remember that this is a Detox program so you cannot take any pills!!! JUST WATER carino .. just water .. I know you can do it .. believe me if a fatty like me can do it you can too .. I went from 282 to 245lbs and still going strong .. I am off the cleanse now but my lifestyle has changed.   14. The best suggestion I can give you is have no fear!! Go for it … Its tough but its really mental .. The ingredients in the lemonade give you enough calorie intake to get by the day .. You only feel hungry visually but your body does not require it .. Drink plenty of water .. Don’t forget the salt water flush .. Follow the instructions all the way .. Not short cuts ..   15. all this feedback is great .. I learned alot from reading here .. but take it from me .. i started the cleanse weighing 282lbs, and I’m a 6’1, 31 yrs old, Hispanic male. This is my 3rd time doing this cleanse .. the last time was in 2004 .. but now i weigh even more then before so of course I started this cleanse immediately .. So march 19, I started with the ease-in, did everything the instructions say, and started the actual lemonade cleanse on Mar. 21st, weighing 273lbs. I am on Day 8, as of today, I weigh 252lbs, that’s 30lbs of total lose .. now is this a diet … no its not … but it really goes to show you how much garbage we really have roaming around our bodies .. I definitely encourage people do this, if they are trying to detox .. again its not a lose program

    1. congrats! i am currently about to finish day 2. So far no physical hunger. our minds our powerful, though. I ‘was’ supposed to start on Monday (today is wednesday) and couldnt ‘convince’ myself that i wasnt starving. so, i started yesterday and so far so good. I have energy and have even managed to get a workout in. (30 min elliptical) This morning i weighed in and lost 3 lbs after one day. yay! i do have to say that you have to be mentally prepared. you have know that YOU WANT to do this and not something you decide from one day to the next. its definitely a mindset. Im shooting for 21 days. Hoping to go all the way…at least thats my goal…you never know. wish me luck! btw, the salt flush sucks and the white stuff on my tongue makes me want to gag!

WOW .. everyone I know notices the change .. I went from looking like a fridge at 282lbs and now I look like a WWE wrestler at 245lbs, and I’m still going strong. I am still dieting and watching what I eat especially since I’m still training.   17. Hi everyone. I have tried all diets much like u all have. I work out. I try to eat right. It’s hard. I am depressed. My son has just turned 6.5 months old and being a c sec baby I had a longer recovery period so working out post baby was delayed. I want to do this diet !!!! You are all so encouraging. I am going to start April 3. I am going away and feel that it would be nearly impossible to do diet under those circumcises. Yes? My birthday is April 24. I think April 3-24 is a good beginning. :). My question to u all….. I’m sue many more to follow, is will I have the energy to walk my four miles every day and do my ab workouts? Fasting is great but I want to work out too you know.   18. Hi, I did the master cleanse a year and a half ago and I lost 11 poundsin 10 days. I’ll be honest it took me trying and being unsuccessful on the cleanse 3 times before I was able to stick to it. I think the key is mental toughness and preparation. Get a big jug of the syrup, the first time I got a smaller size ran out of it and couldn’t get back to the store hence, ending my cleanse. Also have plain water next to you all the time. In the middle of the night, at work, in the car, so that whenever you feel like you need something to eat and don’t have your juice, you have water. I honestly didnt feel hungry after day 3. I almost on some levels, stopped eating, but didnt feel hungry (and I work at a restaurant). I’m starting another Master Cleanse on Monday March 28th and I’m excited. I’ve prepared and mentally prepared myself for the cleanse. I have gained alot and I want to lose it and start back eating healthy again. I’ll keep you posted!
