Big title but there are always times when we have failed and it is out head that blows it out of proportion. When we have a long term goal we need to expect some slipups and deal with them before we move on. If we go back to a goal that is to lose 20 pounds by April 1st. The first thing to remember that life goes on and not all of our friends and family are always going to be as supportive as we need. You may be fine for the first few weeks of the new year when after a bit of time at home you decide to go out for dinner with friends from work. While out for dinner you sneak a bit of appetizers, dinner, some desert, a drink and go home depressed for having completely failed. Well failure is only going to be temporary. We always try to make good decisions and occasionally we will not do exactly what we should. So after the above episode you can beat yourself up a bit but remember that we can learn from these events, next time you will not order the drink that will lead to the bad food, why did you want the bad food anyway? Are you missing something in your new diet? Next time will always come around and you will be prepared so don’t sweat it too much. I did not want to mention this yesterday as it stops you from getting great plans out but one of the things that you have to look at AFTER you have built your great goals for the years is to look at the challenges that you will face and how you are going to deal with them. I have always looked at my goals as being achievable while at the same time knowing that there will be a lot of challenges, most of which I will conquer and a few of which I will fail at. Now that you have all of your goals setup and know what you are going to have to do to protect them make sure that you have the confidence to move forward on all of these most important parts of your life for the year.
