I have been quiet on this blog lately. I want to apologize and also tell my little story.

I think that in some ways I am the same as many people when health and fitness are going well or badly. I have had a bad run over the last few s\weeks of both fitness and exercise and I am sure that the two are twinned in some ways. Just before Christmas I broke a wheel on my bike and have not been out to get one yet. The weather here in Calgary is cold this time of year and I spent a couple of weeks working out on our elliptical trainer and then got a cold and stopped and at the same time with Christmas goodies everywhere I just kind of let go. These two thing really are twinned together aren’t they.

Now over the last few weeks I have put up a brave face, I have posted some health related news articles I have even tried to write a bit of fitness motivation but my heart really is not in it all day long like I like it to be.

I am not writing this stuff to have people feel sorry for me because heck, many people are in a far worse spot then me. I have gained a few pounds, maybe 10 pounds, but not much and the real way that you can see that I am not in good form is that I am dragging myself a bit, my concentration sucks and I have been a bit moody.

Today is the last day of a weeks holidays and I went out to try to find that elusive tire for my bike, shopping all over town I have had no luck and the crankiness set in. I feel like if there are things that are in my control then I can get cranky because it is my fault that some things go wrong but in this case I felt like I was finally really trying to step up and the bike shops weren’t any help.

I guess soon, in the next couple of weeks I will get back on my trusty mountain bike but in the meantime I have set myself to look at tomorrow as the fist good day of the year. I will do all of the exercise, eating, drinking and attitude adjustments that I need and I am sure that by the time Friday hits I will be feeling great again and be snapped back into great form.

Am I the only one doing this in late February? I am hoping not, let me know how things are going for you.
