I still like fast food and even though I avoid it at almost all costs I will still fall pretty hard for a side of fries. Lately I have been able to avoid fast food altogether by making sure that I plan dinners with my wife more often and better.
Here is a great big huge page of nutritional info on the foods sold by almost all of the fast food outlets in the country
Fast Food Restaurants & Nutrition Facts Compared
Looking at the list will make you even more aware of the bad choices in fast food takeout. I always think that the average person should only be eating about 1500 calories a day so when I see a list like this I try to see how hard it is to eat 1000 calories (this would be a very bad and big meal) and according to this list it would not be difficult at all.
The other thing that is hard to count but should be pretty clear by now to most people is the lack of micronutrients in fast food. when you deep fry everything it turns into the food quality of candy. There are no vitamins and minerals left from the potato after you slice and dice and fry the crap out of it.

Here is all you may need to know about Macrobiotic Diets unless you want to try it out. In the case of trying out new diets I always think that it is a good idea to learn more than just reading more than one blog post for research.
Macrobiotics is a dietary regimen that involves eating grains as a staple food supplemented with other local foodstuffs such as vegetables and beans. Although in macrobiotics people may opt to use Japanese ingredients (Japan being the cradle of contemporary Macrobiotics), according to the general guidelines people should use the ingredients that are found locally (e.g. mustard instead of ginger), and avoid the use of sugar and other highly processed or refined foods. Macrobiotics also addresses the manner of eating by recommending against overeating and requiring that food be chewed thoroughly before swallowing.
Followers of the macrobiotic approach believe that food and food quality powerfully affects health, well being, and happiness. The macrobiotic approach suggests choosing food that is less processed and more natural, and employing more traditional methods of cooking for family, friends, and oneself.
