We watched yesterdays Biggest Loser episode tonight and it was nice to see the people that we liked and did not like over the last three seasons of the Biggest Loser.
The show was basically just a precursor to the season that will be starting next week with a two hour premiere of the Biggest Loser Season 4. We got lots of weight ins and stories and a little bit of a preview of the season and I am again excited.
First the weigh ins. I am not sure what we expected but it seems that all of the people gained weight from when they left the show which I guess we should expect. It is not often in life that you get to take a couple of months off and just eat well and workout all day long and as tough as that task would be it must be even harder once you are back home with all of your friends, vices and bad eating and exercising habits. Almost everyone though still looks great so it is nice to see these people as role models for those that have a lot of weight to lose and do not know where to turn.
Just to add another feel to the show there was a clip about Matt Hoover and Suzy Preston who got married after being finalists in the second season and about how they are now proud parents…Matt seems to have gained a lot of weight back but the knowledge of how to get the weight back down never goes away. The other little piece that we got to see was the engagement on live TV of Marty and Amy from last season.
Lastly there was a few minutes of clips of the new teams saying how tough it is and Jillian Michaels riding in on a motorbike as the surprise third coach for this season.
The Biggest Loser Season 4 all starts next Tuesday night

I know I said that i was not going to cover the Biggest Loser anymore this season because the show was bugging me so much but i have still been watching it and was horrified as much as I hope everyone else was when the Biggest Loser went to school.
What was with the crappy food at the school? When I was a kid I am sure that food was much better in school cafeterias. I know that the kids may want to eat junk food but come on who is making the kids eating decisions, their sweet tooth or the parents and schools? Tater tots are not a vegetable and having all your food deep fried is not good either. Kids like food that tastes good, are we to suspect that food that is good for you tastes like crap? I know that isn’t true in my house and probably not yours either.
Matt Hoover who was the winner of the Biggest Loser last season seems to have gained some weight, I know that can happen easily enough as he was very very ripped when he won the biggest loser last year but I always worry that one of these ex winners is going to let their weight balloon up and that would force a lot of people to lose their confidence in their own weight loss.
Dumb ads for the biggest loser club where driving me nuts last night. I know how the sales pitch works but it was a little heavy handed having people saying that thanks to their weight loss that they got a girlfriend, improved their marriage…really it is not just the weight loss that makes you more attractive but your confidence that makes the biggest difference.
Finally the show is in the final four and I think now we are going to get the finale next week. I will of course post about the finale as I do not know a lot of people watching the show and it is nice to get a bit of a conversation going with people that do in fact watch the show
Oh, one more thing. Renee reminded me in her blog post how broken up Erik was about the changes that Bob has helped him make and how he has “saved my life”. I thought that was a really nice touch. This show for these people no matter where the ego is for them is an amazing second chance for people that have screwed up the diet and exercise thing for the first half of their life.

On the eve of the newest season of the Biggest Loser my wife just found a story on the People magazine website that apparently Matt and Suzy from last seasons Biggest Loser just got married this past weekend. Last season I did not remember these guys being together although they were very supportive during the final few months while working out at home and in the studio for the finale.
According to People Magazine:
At the wedding the bride wore a white beach wedding dress by Renée Strauss featuring a sash and a Tacori crystal broach. She also wore her grandmother’s diamond stud earrings and diamond pendant necklace. Hoover dressed in khaki linen pants with a white buttoned-up shirt rolled at the sleeves. Both the bride and groom went barefoot to the ceremony.
The couple, who are both 30, called the wedding’s tropical location “beautiful.” They will also spend their honeymoon in Jamaica. For their reception, instead of a cake, the pair planned to serve homemade cupcakes baked by the bride and a friend.
Matt Hoover, a former wrestling coach from Iowa, popped the question to Seattle-based Suzy Preston, a hairstylist, live on the Today show in March – while both were in their workout gear. (Preston thought they were there for a fitness segment.)
Dropping to his knee in New York City’s Rockefeller Center plaza, Hoover said, “I have gone through a lot of changes in the past year. … I want to keep changing, but I want you to be by my side.”
Taking a ring from Kraiko Diamonds out of his pocket, Matt Hoover continued, “I had this made for you.” Then he told a teary Suzy Preston, “I’d like to ask you to be my wife!”
Suzy Preston answered with an enthusiastic “Yes!”
What a nice story. I am sure that as these two said they have seen each other at their worst and I still remember the two of them last season.
Matt Hoover was really guarded and had problems in his life fighting with the fact that he was a competitive wrestler just a few years ago and let his body go. He wanted to do everything himself and although you felt for him you really wanted to scream at him to lean on everyone else to help support him. Matt ended up winning last season but just barely as he was competing with Suzy Preston who to my wife and I seemed a bit like a whining wimp in the first place. One we got to know Suzy’s character though we did start cheering for her and in the end we cheered for her to win against Matt and Seth..
