You know and I know it too, that exercising is one of the best ways for your kids to remain fit and healthy. Unfortunately, it is not easy to convince little kids about the benefits of exercises. You can do everything possible in your budget: buy home-exercise machines, exercise videos, etc., but your kids would rather play with video games or surf the internet sitting on a chair, than get up and do some workouts. When they see that their parents are sitting on the couch for hours watching television, it makes matters worse.

Here are some steps to make your kids exercise the easy way:

1. Do what you teach them: If you teach your kids that exercise is good for their health, the same set of advice applies to you too. Don’t sit at home for hours; instead, walk the talk by going out to your local gym and spending a couple of hours on the workouts. It will not only keep you fit and healthy, but you would also become a role model for your kids. Kids are in the habit of emulating others. As soon as they see you exercising regularly, they too will emulate it and begin exercising, if for nothing else, then simply out of curiosity.

2. Intensive workouts are not for kids: Don’t let your kids do intensive workouts; they will soon feel tired and bored with them and would start hating exercises altogether. Don’t buy your kids things like exercise equipments and weights as your kids can suffer from bone and muscles injuries. Instead, let your kids do some lighter bodyweight exercises.

3. Engage your kids in other activities: In order to make sure that your kids lead an active and healthy lifestyle, it is important to teach them about a variety of activities instead of letting them stick to a few workouts. Take them out for a swimming or dancing session. Buy them cycles and let them cycle around the neighborhood. Sometimes, let them jog, run, play sports such as tennis and basketball, etc. Sometimes you can even take them to adventurous holidays and let them engage in surfing.

Engaging your kids in a variety of activities will make sure that they lead an active and healthy lifestyle in future instead of being mute spectators to the activities and sports of others. And as you already know, the more active your kids are, the fitter they will be.

Making your kids exercise is not as hard as you think. Just don’t use force, ever. Follow the three simple tips above and you will soon stop worrying about your kids’ health.

One of the biggest complaints that I hear from people getting started, or trying to get stated, in working out is:

“Where will I find the time to workout?”

We all lead busy days and often the time between the morning when we get up and the evening when we go to sleep goes by in a blur of work, family, preparing meals, finding and foraging for food and getting a little bit of downtime.

So where do we find that few minutes a day to workout? I think that I have a bit of an answer.

Get you priorities straight

First things first. Look at your day from the time that you awake until the time that you go to sleep. What are you doing in every 15 minute block? support.jpgIt is really important to surround yourself with success. As excited as we get in life it is always a struggle at some points. I know that when I am riding my bike in July it is like a dream but in December, not so much. So make sure that you have support all over the place.

So how do you support yourself with success? Mostly from reading and seeing stories about other people that have done what you want to do. If you want to lose weight then go to Amazon and don’t look for the newest hottest diet book but instead look for books and stories about people that have lost weight. You know that these people didn’t just lose weight easily, they had setbacks just like you will have and they will have written about how they coped with these setbacks.

Your friends are also a great inspiration to help you get stronger and improve your confidence. Have you figured out yet that this post is all about confidence being the key to success. Choose your friends and coworkers that you hang out with carefully. Make sure that everyone around you is going to nourish your confidence and be very ready and eager to receive praise from people about your changes and your success

One of the big reasons that I am such a fan of the Biggest Loser TV show is not just to see competition, or fitness tips, or diet tips. The biggest reason I watch the Biggest Loser is to watch success stories in action. See the elation as someone gets one step closer to their goal, see the tears as someone has a bad week or feels their dream slipping away. I have had lists of tips before but this is by far the largest list of tips to lose weight that I have ever done.I have also linked to other pages on this site to give you even more info.

It is one thing to look at this list and marvel at it’s size but in fact to make the biggest changes in your life you just have to make a couple small changes at a time in your life until life is where you want it to be. So peruse this list, sure, but more importantly just pick a couple of things that you can do now and then come back in a couple of days to pick another couple. 1. Drink plenty of water. Our body needs a lot of water so give in to water. Water is not just way to flush out toxin but if you have more water in your body you will generally feel healthier and fitter. This it self will discourage any tendency to gorge. The best thing about water is that is has no calories at all.

2. Start your day with a glass of water. As soon as you wake up, gulp down a glass of cool water. It’s a wonderful way to start you day and you only need a lesser quantity of your breakfast drink after that. A glass of water lets out all your digestive juices and sort of lubricates the insides of your body. You may have your morning cup of tea but have it after a glass of water. It is good for you.

3. Drink a glass of water before you start the meal. Water naturally needs some space so that you feel fuller without actually having to stuff yourself.

4. Have another glass of water while you are having the meal. Again this is another way of making yourself full so that you can actually rise from the table eating less but feeling full just the same. Instead of drinking it one gulp, take sips after each morsel. It will help the food to settle faster so that you get that feeling that you are full faster. SIDENOTE: Water is such a remarkable thing, but seldom do we give it the credit that it deserves. Did you know that over 66% of your body weight is nothing but water’ It’s amazing! Water also plays a vital role in weight control, which is why I donated so much space to it, above.

5. Stay away from sweetened bottle drinks, especially sodas. Hey all those colas and fizzy drinks are sweetened with sugar and sugar means calories. The more you can cut out on these sweetened bottle drinks, the better for you. So if you must drink sodas, then stick to diet sodas.

6. Include in your diet things that contain more water like tomatoes and watermelons. These things contain 90 to 95 % water so that there is nothing that you have to lose by feasting on them. They fill you up without adding to the pounds.

7. Eat fresh fruit instead of drinking fruit juice. Juice is often sweetened but fresh fruits have natural sugars. When you eat fruit, you are taking in a lot of fiber, which is needed by the body, and fruits of course are an excellent source of vitamins.

8. If you do have a craving for fruit juice then go for fresh fruit juice instead of these that contain artificial flavors and colors. Or even better, try making your own fruit juice taking care not to sweeten it with too many calories.

9. Choose fresh fruit to processed fruits. Processed and canned fruits do not have as much fiber as fresh fruit and processed and canned fruits are nearly always sweetened.

10. Increase your fiber intake. Like I mentioned, the body needs a lot of fiber. So try to include in your diet as many fruits and vegetables as you can.
