x weightedX-Weighted is a TV show that is shown on the life network here in Canada. The idea of X-Weighted is that the story of regular people losing weight would be interesting to watch and in fact it is. The host of X-weighted is a trainer from Edmonton by the name of Paul Plakas. Paul is a great host for a weight loss show because he goes into peoples houses and is not afraid of offending them with his tips and is really great for giving workout ideas. Also, as a Canadian Paul is never an ass but he doesn’t give anyone much of a chance to make any excuses either.

I watched X-Weighted a couple of times last season but earlier this week was a standard episode that I thought was great to watch especially for the lack of hype that this show uses to bring across the idea of weight loss over a longer period of time. The structure of X-Weighted is that you will have an intro where you see the life situation of someone that wants to lose weight, then Paul Plakas measures and weighs the person, looks in their kitchen and does a fitness assessment. Later in the show you have workouts and a a weight in and finally at the end there is an official X-Weighted final weigh in. Great drama and great info all in an hour

Anatomy of an X Weighted Episode

The X-Weighted episode that I saw started with Michelle, a lady that was over weight and would like to lose 50 pounds. She had problems with one of her three children being Autistic and becoming a problem and her whole family leaned on her for support in various parts of their lives. Because of Michelle’s work schedule and early mornings she would eat out at fast food places once or twice EVERY day. Now we know this ladies background.

First things first for the meeting with her trainer . Michelle laid out her situation and then told her trainer that she wanted to lose 50 pounds in the next six months. Her trainer talked to her about her exercise requirements, eating requirements, tested her current level of fitness and then followed her around for a day. A couple of day later Michelle met with her trainer for a training session and then we get to see how Michelle reacts over the next few months to life, changes and weight loss.

In the end Michelle lost I believe 44 pounds and was really happy with how things went for her weight loss. Her life was a series of traumatic events over the time of her weight loss and it really makes you feel for her and her family.

X-Weighted is a great show in that it really walks you through how real people lose weight while living their regular lives, this is a classic idea of a reality show where the people are in their own surrounding much like our own and every great result is hard fought. X-Weighted is on in Canada on many nights of the week on the Slice Network (formerly the Life Network).

The reasons that i have not lost my weight since my last child is no motivation, no money to go the gym and just no time. I NEED HELP! I wish that i could sleep better and i wish that i had more energy to play with my kids.

Help me. I want to be helped i just need someone to get me to the point that i want to achieve. Thanks! J

X-Weighted would be ok if they would loose that Creep and ridiculous Fred who is, ostensibly a self esteem expert. Ha! He is so creepy and pretentious. Just the look of him is creepy. He puts the women down and then tells them what they should wear like he is some sort of expert.
When he comes on, I turn the tv off. I cannot believe this absurd creature is the best thing Anaid could come up with for fashion advice! He ruins the entire show.

      Hi

      Just to respond to Beth:

I am in University, and for the first time in my life, I mas taking my diet and exercise seriously. I’ve started doing what I can to work in activity into my life, like walking instead of talking the bus, or tagging a ride. I also have started jogging (which I HATED and could never do!) but after the first week of hell, I actually managed to run the whole 4km trek without stopping for a rest/walk.

I cut out 80% of the bad food (100% is too hard at the beginning, and sour candy like cherry blasters or sour patch kids are my weekness) and eat lots of small, healthy meals.

Within the first week, I went from 5′9″ and 165lbs to 159. Two weeks in, I was 156. It’s slow, but it honnest weight coming off. I already lost 1 inch off my thighs and 1 inch off my hips in the first week, I run ever other day, do pilates from websites and ripped dvd, andtry to get in lots of walking.

contact me if you want any more dish! But good luck to you and everyone!!

I am almost 48 years of age, female and I work fulltime. I used to work 2 jobs, workout and go to my sons sports activities. About 12 years ago I gave up my second job, got sick and couldn’t workout and still did the kid thing. I have never really been able to back into working out and I don’t know why, I just can’t seem to stick to it. I do really prefer having someone to workout with, but friends and family belong to different gyms/don’t live in same area. I eat because I feel I eat because I am bored, but just can’t seem to motivate myself to get going. I hate the way I look and feel, you’d think that would be insentive, apparently not. I am 5′ 5″ and weigh 179 lbs. I am going to Egypt in 8.5 weeks, I would like to wear a bathing suit, shorts and summer tops without feeling like I look like a beached whale. Please help me get going………Desparate Luccee.

I need something that could kick start this for me so I can get rid of some of this weight. I have every excuse in the book, but know that I am going to slowly get worse if I dont start doing something about this. Is there any advise anyone could offer?

i have only been over weight since having my youngest 10 years ago, before that i was an eat what i want and i exercised 7 days a week doing some sort of sports.

i would like to be more active but due to a knee injury im unable to do as much as i would like. but im getting there, and so far have begun to lose weight steadily.

i just whish there was something like this in the uk, as it would be a great chance for us over here.

I am 19 years old and have recently gone through a lot of changes in my life. my husband is being deployed to afghanistan in a matter of days for around 8 months. In 6 months time he will have a leave, and we plan to take a trip to europe at that time. I am 5 9 and weigh about 180lbs. It seems like just yesterday i was being complimented because i had such a slender figure, but the ‘freshman 15′ turned into the freshman ‘50′ very quickly… my goal is to lose 30-40 lbs before our trip to europe… i want my husband to be so surprised, and to think that I have the hottest body that he has ever seen! I know the chances of ever being given the chance to have professional help is so slim (pun intended), but even if it means living in misery of 6 months I want to get thin again!!!

    7. Mindy says:

Wow, I am really upset with the comment from Paul about Fibromyalgia. It’s great to have an opinion, but when that opinion is wrong and aired on t.v. it just sucks. It has taken years for me to come to terms with fibromyalgia. I had it for years, had the rhuematologist telling me I had it and still denied it because of people like Paul.I actually was a Paul, had it and just didn’t believe it, lot’s of pain but hell, who knows what is going on, it isn’t fibro, that non-existant disease that sucks ass. I have come to realize that people can’t get their heads around something unless they experiance it first hand, that’s unfortunate, because these kind of people will never experiance it and never realize the struggles that a person with fibro goes through. It was said that you treat fibro with diet, exercise..weight loss, they suggest these things for any type of arthritis. He is claiming she brought it on herself. Well Paul, bullshit.
My fibromyalgia hit me at a time when I was thin, active, healthy and trying to actually become a bodybuilder. It never ceases to amaze me the lack of information that these so called health experts have. The cure is always lose weight, eat right, get healthy, dah….it would help with anything.
I’m not sure where I am going with this, I’m just pretty pissed that he “thinks” he knows anything about fibromyalgia. Paul, I like alot of things you have done with people on the show, but that comment sucked and right now I think you do too. Put your medical findings out here so we can see where your opinion is coming from. I certainly would hate to say I hope you find out first hand the pain and life altering shit that fibro causes, but , sometimes it’s the only way to bring low such a shitty comment. Thanks, or no Thanks,
Mindy, (who has struggled physically and mentally with the pain of fibro first hand)

    8. Marilyn says:

I watched this show for the first time today (the Jannette episode) and was glad she did well but was absolutely horrified by Paul the trainer. He was a total ass! He was nasty, condescending, insulted his client and didn’t provide a positive way of looking at changes. He also told his client he didn’t believe the disease fibromyalgia even existed! Yeah, I’d want someone like that for my trainer! Instead of positively teaching her ways to look at things and providing encouragement for how she could exercise through things, work around her disease and not make excuses, he just treated her like crap, told her that her disease was imaginary and clearly didn’t care about her as a person.

I hope it was just the editing that made him look so bad and that he was better in scenes not shown on camera, but I don’t think so because it was clear that Jannette hated him too and her feelings hadn’t really changed even after she’d lost more weight. She didn’t hate her trainer because he was making her face painful change (a lot of people feel that way at first but later on after some success they love their trainers and give them credit) she hated him because he just sucked period. He reminded me of the nasty jocks in high school who threw balls at the less coordinated kids’ heads!

I’ve worked with personal trainers and health coaches so I’ve seen the different approaches that occur in training and coaching from different individuals and that’s cool. Their help has played a big part in getting me into the best shape of my life! But I’ve never seen such a nasty and condescending trainer before – Jillian Michaels is the scariest trainer I’ve ever seen on tv and she is 100% better with people than this guy. She kicks her clients butts but she makes them feel like they are awesome and can do more than they imagine – they feel better after they work with her, not ready to cry because they hate themselves AND her the way Jannette clearly did. I’m going to watch more episodes and hope this one was an anomaly and that Paul really isn’t that bad but I’m not hopeful.

    9. Mindy says:

Marilyn, very well said. I am glad I’m not the only one who thought Paul was a real ass. He actually has been annoying me on other shows too. I don’t watch it for him, it’s just great to see people overcome their weight issues, it’s unfortunate that they have to do it with his bullshit, should give them inspiration for the boxing though, HAHA

    10. sheldon says:

How can I get on the show to help me get in better health and hopefuly if I feel better about me it will help the rest of the family. Please help!

    11. Ivene says:

Just love watching the show I hadn’t heard of it before. I have been trying to loose weight for the past couple of years. I have tried of course everything. The nutritionalist has tried to help but I gain when I eat the 6 small meals, went on a liquid diet and gained. I know what your thinking but your wrong. I stay about the same no matter what, the doctors have told me it’s just a slow metabalism. I have a hard time with this because I feel that I am active. I watched the show today and had to laugh out loud when they said if you eat right and do what your suppose to do you will loose weight well I have tried this with negative results so I challenge you to prove me, my family, & my friends different. I mean no disrespect, just a challenge. I need help and evidently I am missing something somewhere. Thanks for your time.

I am very active in my every day life. I am a little over my desired weigh and have been watching your program for some ideas that I could use to help. The more I watch I realize that you or no onee else on t.v. have used anyone with a disablity. My husband and I were wondering why. Any help that you can give me would be greatly appreachiated. Are there any wesites that we would go to for help. Thank You!!!! Joy

    13. Patti says:

Wow! This is amazing that I ended up on this blog…I have never wrote on a blog before. :)

The reason I ended up here..is because I just finished whatching an episode of x-weighted…I was starting to get a little dissapointed without seeing the kind of results I was hoping for …for these people

( also to give me encouragment as to what can be done in 6months)….

Until…I saw JEREMY’S episode……it was the best…it had me laughing and crying,,,When his bike was stolen,,,,I so badly wanted to jump thru the tv and buy him a bike! Ya gotta love that guy,,,he stayed true to himself and succeeded ……you can tell how much he loves his daughter and x-wife….and he really worked it…with sweat, humor and determination…..and the best ..WAS his goal of 60lbs/60mnths and he did it! (short about 4lbs or so,,,who cares,,,in my eyes he made his goal 100%)

I HAVE SEEN people do 30 or so in the same amount of time..,.and look better….but…he REALLY TRANSFORMED HIMSELF…..SO ….HATS OFF TO JEREMY ENJOY AND MUCH CONTINUED SUCCESS!

NOW FOR THE BLOG ABOVE MINE,,I JUST READ,,,,I DO NOT HAVE THE EXTENT OF DISABILITY AS THE LADY ABOVE (JOY P) AND GOD BLESS HER FOR BEING ACTIVE. JOY is right… IT WOULD BE COOL TO HAVE SHOWS ON ALL ….different people and the obstacles they endure,,,

I, MYSELF,,,HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ACTIVE…I JUST HAVE THIS DARN KNEE THAT DOES NOT DO WELL WITH Tracking…it has disloCATED ,,,I have hAD surgery and it is just not the same….without a knee brace.,,,it feels like your knee is balancing on cone,,,anyway it would be cool to see people with the same or similiar obstacles,,,get creative and effective results with excercise and wt loss,,

Plus…why is this show only filmed in Canada,,,,any interest in expanding????? If interested I have one of the best camera men in Chicago:)

    17. Patti says:

why aren’t there any responses from x-weighted oh here?

      —————————————————–

I think the problem is that the people that do the TV show X-Weighted do not really know about my blog. I have recieved specific emails in the past though and forwarded them on to Paul Palakas who is the trainer on the show.

    18. Carol says:

I recently came across this show and I really enjoy it. Yes, I agree that Paul can come across as harsh at times but mostly he tells it like it is. If he has someone who truly is willing to give it their all he is 100% behind them. Heather is a good example. She really put her mind to becoming a better person and it showed not only in her weight loss but also in that she became a much happier person. My hat off to her for her success. I don’t always agree with his way of doing things or his opinions at times but controversy brings viewers and comments. I hope they expand the show to more episodes as I need the continued motivation for my weight loss journey. Beat obesity!!!

    19. Paul Plakas says:

      Hi Everyone

Thank You very much for watching X-Weighted. I appreciate the feedback good or bad. If you are looking for any fitness information please check out my new website http://www.paulplakas.com
Hopefully you will find something there that might help you.

    20. Melanie says:

I am from Australia and the X Weighted show makes me sooo soo mad. These people are so lazy and ungrateful and I am sure there are so many other people out there that would be more appreciated with the help of professionals, myself included. I hope any new people to the show will be not so lazy and take the advice of the professionals or else don’t bother boring the viewers.

    21. Nicole says:

I watch Xweighted everyday. I have been over weight for as long as I can remember, and I am only 21 years old. I am a single mom of a 4 year old and about to have a baby, and I want to lose 70lbs in a year after I have my son. I am finding it difficult to find excercises that I can do with my children, besides walking that is, and if the weather permits, and the eating healthy is a big issue. I dont have the money to be able to afford a trainer, or a nutritionist, or anything of the sorts. I want to be healthy and able to play with my kids without getting winded so quickly. My mom is also overweight and has quite a few health problems that I am hoping to avoid by losing weight. I just need the motivation and the means to do it.

About the show, it ticks me off that some of these people on the show asked for the help, and are getting it, and then complain about the diet or the excercise.. They asked for it, they should deal with it. If you dont want to listen to someones bluntness about it, then dont go on the show.

    26. Michelle says:

Hi, my name is Michelle. I am interested in corrosponding with Paul and the show. I have always struggled with my self image, even as a slim teen. Now at 25, I am trying to overcome that struggle. Over the last few years I have gained 100 pounds. During that time I was in a unfulfilling relationship, attending university and having some health concerns. In the last 8 months I have since began to make my life healthier. Graduating from nursing I realized that I have to take control of all aspects of my life. I ended the negative relationship, started a fitness program and has lossed 30+ pounds. I need that little something extra to keep me on the path to my goal. Watching the program I know that Paul can help me with that. I am very motivated. Paul’s no B.S attitude is perfect for the last hurdle. Now that summer is here I want to incorporate outdoor activites. Learn more about my nutritional needs and how to best meet them. I am looking to loose another 30 pounds by August. Then if my success continues that last 40 pounds over the next year. I know that this is a huge goal but this is something that really need and deserve.
      Hoping to hear from you,
      Michelle.

So I am unable to go to a gym or doing any sort of exercises. In the last four years. I have been slowing gaining weight, before my son is born I was at my normal weight. I think that stress and lack of sleep has caused me to have a low metabolism. I really need your help to get me back to the way I was before my son was born so I can have more energy to spend time with my son. I would also like people to think of me as a yummy Mommy not a mommy who looks tired and run down help!

      hi

I live in Hamilton, Ontario, work full-time with young offenders and myself and 1 co-worker would be extremely interested in a workout schedule and to loose weight. I feel that it would be very beneficial that you do a show on employee fitness to increase productivity within any workplace environment, especially ours as we work shift work! and it is very hard to get into a normal routine. In turn it would demonstrate great role modelling for the youth we work with as they are teenage girls.

      thanks,

I am 31 yrs old mother of 3 children, I am from the USA (Oklahoma). I have had Gastric bypass and have a hard time with my weight loss. I really wish I would have known how to loose weight with out haveing surgery, because I have had a hard time breaking bad habits and have started going backwards instead of forward with the weight loss Yes I have lost weight and I am greatful for loosing what I have but it is not enough because of health reasons now. I went from 315 to 180 but in 1 yr I put on almost 30 to 40 Lbs I know I have to do something but it has been a struggle. I have children that are ADHD and are very picky with what they eat so thinking of just my self or just focusing on myself is not easy. I am trying to get more energetic but it seem to be a struggle to get energy I have tryed pills and drinks to help me get energy to do my exercises but it still isnt working. I watched X weighted and really wish I could have the help that these people were offered I my self would have taken advantage of this oppertunity. I cant believe some of these people just refused to work their butts off to reach a goal that they set for themselves. It is pure lazyness.

I am a 22 year old mother of 3. In high school, even middle school, it was hard to get the guys to look elsewhere (was thin then). After my first child, I lost all the weight right away, without even trying. After my second child however, things went differently. It was hard to lose any weight, no matter how hard I tried. After my third child, I have gained so much weight that I can’t stand to look at myself in the mirror. I have a happy marriage with a man who loves me for who I am, and who I love with all my heart. But at 225lbs and only 22 years old, it’s hard for me to love myself. I am 5ft 3inches tall, and that’s a lot of weight to carry around. I know that I can lose it, I just need someone who can push me and push me to get it done. It’s for my health, I know, but when my emotional/mental health is an issue too, it makes it much harder. I hate to admit it, because I’m very independent, but I do need help. I have no money for a personal trainer, or a gym membership, but I need both. Someone who can teach me the right exercises to do in order to achieve my goal of a healthy weight, and at 5′ 3″ I should only be between 110 and 135. I would really like to get there, I need my health in order to see my kids grow up. I have no injuries, no accidents, no tight muscles…but I also have no one to push me. PLEASE HELP!

My name’s Kayla, I’m 17 years old and been struggling with weight all my life. I’ve been in various sports growing up, but still seem to be overweight. I recently was working out with a trainer 3 times a week, and twice on my own, Since then I’ve gained an extra 30lbs in the past couple months, and lost no inches. I work out 3-4 times a week or so on my own now, working on how I eat even more, and still no results. I know I need improvemnt on how i eat still, but I need help. I work a part-time job and am full time student but still find time to go to the gym at about 11pm at night. I’m starting to lose hope.. I’m 5′7, 250lbs, size 16-18 in pant size and size xl-1x in tops. I’m looking to drop down to a size 14 and L/XL in tops, and about 180lbs. Acheiving my goal would help me emotionally and physically.. I’m scared for the future, seeing myself bigger than I already am and unhealthy. Please Help!

Hi, I am A 26 year old girl, who has had Diabetes for 21 years now, I am about 30 lbs overweight now,But I workout, and Being Diabetic can make it tough to lose weight, I went for 6 months working out hard, and never lost a single Pound, But I have not given up on myself, and even when I feel like giving up I push myself even harder, I may not be lighter, but my husband says I look differnet that I look better, And I have noticed a change in my health too, and so even if I don’t lose the weight I want to lose, I atleast feel healthier, and better about myself. In fact Growing up I never got to choose what I ate and alot of the time my mom would offer me candy even though she knew i was not supposed to eat it, anyhow, growing up I had alot of trouble controlling my blood sugars, and Because of that I lost part of the sight in my right eye, I have had many surgeries to fix it, but have had no luck. I thought i was never going to be able to have kids because my sugars were always so high. But since I got engaged in 2006 and now am married, I decided i wanted to workout, And I have not regreted it since, I got the okay from my specialist to have a baby, which is a dream come true for me. Anyways, my advise to all of you, is even though you have no motivation, or no energy, you need to make exercise a regular part of your daily life, I find i actually get more energy when i do workout. Anyways, I feel good about myself even if I am not really losing any weight, I feel good about myslef, because I know i am beautiful both on the inside and the outside, and my husband helped me realize that too, he makes me feel special, and tells me i am beautiful, and is happy that i am atleast trying my best to look even better for him. I have also changed my diet and eat alot better. I don’t buy junk food , if i am hungry i will snack on veggies or fruit. And It seems to satisfy any cravings for sweet or salty things. Anyways. I hope that my story has helped some of you out.

Looking to find out how to be selected for TV show X-Weighted

    38. Angela Ryan says:

I can’t believe that nobody comments on how amazing these people look at he end of the show! It is obvious that Fred the stylist and self esteem guy on the show cares about the participants because he makes them look so good. Not all of them achieve thier goals, but thier make-overs make them look like they did! I need to lose some weight and if I ate right and moved more I would. Knowing how to look great at 200lbs is an art and he shows them how to do it. They don’t all look successful at the weigh in but they look amazing after Fred dresses them and does thier hair!!! Even Jeremy! Some of them even look like models and they are still overweight! If I could have someone show me how to look great in an unperfect body I would be thrilled. I know eating less will make me smaller, but how do I look hot? Nikki is a great example and Jen from Calgary. That was AMAZING! I want to look like them and they still had more weight to lose! I think how they feel at the end of the show has to do with how they look. Anyone else?

    39. Jen says:

      Hello,

I was on the second season of X-Weighted.

Weight loss is extremely difficult and thats how X-Weighted came to be… they followed everyday people around and watched them having to do it while living their daily lives. No, its not easy… If anything it was just plain difficult!!! I knew that there are other things that make it difficult but since being on the show, I realized I had a lot more demons to face and how much they played a part in my unhealthy lifestyle.

Since the show I’ve learned that I have to put myself first and love myself FIRST before any real changes can happen. There were still a lot of scenes that were not included on the show but the most important lesson is to love myself first. Because of that revelation I found it *somewhat* easier to motivate myself to make the changes in my lifestyle. I still enjoy chocolate but have kept it to a TREAT and not lunches. LOL My kids and I go on hiking trips and active camping trips to stay active and to enjoy each other’s company. And until today, (almost 2 years in January) I still haven’t touched a cigarette.

I wish everyone the best of luck in their lifestyle change(s). Remember to seek help and support of others and remember that its completey healthy, and necessary to take care of yourself first!

    40. Angela Ryan says:

Are you the one who broke up with her husband on the show? If so, you looked GREAT!!

    41. AnnaMichelle says:

      Hi Guys,

Your all trying to lose weight and I have lost a lot of weight and quickly(ish!). I lost 54 pounds. I’m now 124 pounds. What I’m going to suggest worked for me but is quite controvesial and I AM going to be criticised for it but I’m telling you it works for me. Basically I diet for two weeks. I eat nothing but Fruit and Veg and Jacket Potatoes and steamed fish cutting my calorie intake to about 1,100 each day. This is a lot of food when your only eating fruit and veg and steamed fish. Then for ONE day I eat as much of anything I like. Chocolate crisps biscuits you name it I eat it. Then I go back on my diet for two weeks then I have my day off etc etc. The idea behind this is that when I eat all day one day I kick start my metabolism into speeding up and keep my body guessing. So just as my body gets used to 1,100 calories each day I up it dramatically so my metabolism kicks in then cut it dramatically and my metabolism takes a few days to slow down. I really wouldn’t recommend this but if like me you’ve tried everything else then…

    42. Cherise says:

I am sorry I have to disagree with AnnaMichelle, but, Dieting never works permanantly, cause now when you stop eating like that when you reach your goal, and you go back to eating normally, even if you eat less, you will just gain weight again, the way to lose weight is not to diet, but to change the way you eat all together, You need to eat healthy, and remember this when you are eating, Is what I am putting in my mouth going to benifit me or not? People need to learn to eat to live not live to eat. It is that simple rule about food that can help you out. I do however agree with annamichelle about one thing, it is okay to have one cheat day, however try not to go over your calorie intake, so if you decided to start eating only 1,200 calories a day, stick to that. I do not reccomend any person eat less than 1,200 calories a day as that is the lowest calorie intake reccomended. I also suggest that everyone do some kind of physical activity, something you enjoy, whether it is a walk or maybe if you have kids play with them. Also Swimming is excellent as you use alot of your muscles to swim. I took Aquasize classes for awhile when I live din the city, I reccomend them for anyone who may have physical ailments, as they are low impact but excellent workouts.

My husband and I changed our way of eating completely, and I have type one diabetese. We eat alot of healthy cereals, like bran flakes, wheatabix, flax plus, fibre one. and we eat alot of tuna and eggs, and Chicken and fish, we went from 1 and 2 % milk to skim milk, it has everything that is in 1 and 2 % and Homogenized milk, just alot less fat. We also buy Whey Protein and make shakes with that and our milk, and a tsp of either grape seed oil or Flax seed oil, and put that in our cereal. Our favorite thing to eat are Fish with alittle bit of lemon juice and pepper, no salt, we have a non stick frying pan so we never need to spray or oil it,it is electric as well, we also like eating Salsa chicken, baked in the oven, or BBq chicken, with usually a tbsp or 2 of BBQ sauce, the kind we use is President’s choice, it has only 20 calories per Tbsp. We also like beef every now and then so we look for good lean cuts of steak and stew meats and roasts. If there is some fat on the outside we always cut it off before we cook it. I love eating this way, we love veggies and Brown rice, when we do eat bread we use 100% whole wheat, I would actually reccomend using whole grain bread as it is healthier, but it is also about $4-$5 a loaf. But we rarely eat bread, atleast I do rarely eat it, my husband takes tuna sandwhiches with him to work, and fruits and veggies, and a few healthy granola bars as snacks, there is fibre bars and trail mix bars and oatmeal to go bars, they are low in calories and he enjoys them. I hope my advice will help somebody out, and I wish everyone good luck in your weight loss goals. If you are interested in Getting on X-weighted, you can go to splice.ca, and click on Casting call, there will be something there that you can click on to get applications for x-weighted, right now they are doing families. Anyways, good luck all, and remember, you must start loving yourself as you are now, and remember that you are worth it, you deserve to look beautiful on the outside as well as the inside. You are all loved.

    43. Bill Nad says:

This is actually a good idea as far as eating goes, although you should probably try to vary the diet a little more. What is good about eating in cycles is that it helps you raise your metabolism. Your body will get confused instead of thinking that you are starving and your metabolism should stay up.

Cherise Thanks for all of those tips on lower cal eating and you are right, withour exercise it may be possible to lose weight but it is hard to make a permanent change withour exercise because you can only lower your calories to a certain point before you are not eating enough for your basic nutrients.

Exercise and cycled eating are keys to losing weight for sure.

From Mid-America and love this show since I’ve already lost 40 pounds thru support group. Especially enjoyed yesterday’s session with Jeremy-a highly unlikely success story yet he was fantastic. What an eye opener he was with his tats and dyed blue hair and terrible eating/drinking habit. Yet he was willing to try biking, yoga, and pole dancing…took off the pounds…is inspiration to all of us regardless of age, circumstances etc. Just goes to show that once your mind accepts change the rest of you will follow. Yea Jeremy! Yea this show!!! Kate

I watched the episode that was on the discovery health channel today and I was completely offended by Paul and his comments about aqua fitness. Aqua fitness is not a joke and just for senior citizens. There are many different levels and he should not have laughed and made comments when the participant wanted to become a aqua fitness instructor. Many people take those classes for an array of reasons – training for a marathon, weight loss, and specifically looking for low impact on joints etc. Paul should be reminded about the different types of training that are available and not act like such an obnoxious moron.
