Why get healthy? Often I will write a blog post, or have a workout, or write and email to all the people that get my newsletters, or grab an apple or chocolate bar and I ask one question.
Why get healthy?
This is a question that everyone needs to ask themselves before they step into the gym, walk into a fast food restaurant, get into the kitchen, grab a beer, and basically anytime that you are doing any healthy or unhealthy thing to your body.
You need to formulate an answer and if you have not done this yet then it is probably a big reason why you have trouble succeeding – anyone that has this answer will already be doing good things for themselves.
I have to admit that I am far from perfect as far as my diet and exercise go but I have hard and fast rules that I will talk about in another post. But the fact is that I care about my health and will always stick it as a high priority in my life. Is that what you do or not, or sometimes, or when the mood strikes?
Here is my answer to the “Why I care” , why get healthy question:
Here is my reason to why get healthy. I have a finite time that I will live. 80-100 years if I am lucky, but I want all of those years to count. I want to make sure that I am not making bad decisions now that will stop me from enjoying my life today and as I get older. Is that a reason as to why get healthy? Sure there is always the chance that something will strike my health that is out of my control but I like to live my life. I don’t want to work out all the time or watch every morsel of food that goes into my body but I eat well because it feels good and I exercise because it make me feel good and challenges me to find and beat my self imposed limits.
Sure that is a bit wordy but that is how I feel about my diet and exercise. That is why get healthy. Living life fuller today and in the future is a big driver.
Answer Why Get Healthy? For Yourself
What are your reasons? Think about this and make a good list. If you want to share as a comment here that would be great too. As people see why other people motivate themselves perhaps it will rub off and you can help others as well as finding your own reasons.
The answer to your question of why get healthy will shape the decisions that you make and help you to make the right decision, not always, but most of the time.
