I wrote this Twitter for fitness a couple years ago but just wanted to remind everyone to follow me on Twitter for more fitness tips ------------------------------------------------------ I have decided to start something that is a little different just as an experiment. I will keep posting here but also will add lots of other links through a twitter account so that anyone using Twitter can get even more value without my regular blog readers being buried in article links from other blogs … [Read more...] about Twitter for fitness tips

Primal, Overnight Success, and cardio or weights?
I used to read a lot of blogs by RSS and Malcolm Read. RSS feeds were a great way to keep up with what people were writing a couple years ago but now there is so much more on Goolge+, Facebook, and Twitter that I seemed to have just kind of lost my way with RSS. This morning I looked through my feeds and lo and behold there are lots of people besides me still blogging up a storm about health and wellness. Here are a few good articles I have been reading today. 5 Primal Meals in 35 … [Read more...] about Primal, Overnight Success, and cardio or weights?
30 Day Fitness Challenge
Today I am starting a 30 day fitness challenge. I know that it may seem strange that the owner of a blog dedicated to fitness is starting a fitness challenge with himself but it is high time. We all move forward in lurches, making changes small and large and then coasting a bit until the next go round and I am the same as anyone. This Summer I have been doing a lot of coasting, exercising randomly, eating only so so and just letting myself enjoy Summer in a somewhat lazy way. Not … [Read more...] about 30 Day Fitness Challenge
Looking back and forward
Just wanted to shoot out a quick email today to give you a maybe tough but really important weekend task. After a long Summer of fun and vacations I am back online and at the gym hard and heavy. Personally I have been looking this Summer at what works, what motivates people and what makes the difference between success and failure. And wanted to share a bit of that with you today. You probably know exactly what I am talking about. You start a workout plan, or a diet, or a job search and … [Read more...] about Looking back and forward
What I learned from my Skateboad Injury
I have been wondering this week what to write as my motivation has been a bit down lately and I did not want to infect you with it. So I have decided to write a little message about why I have been down and what I have learned about my back problem over the last few weeks. Early in August I went one night to the local skateboard park with my son. Jaiden is 7 and likes to scooter, skateboard, and ride his bike at the skatepark like most kids his age like to do. I have no experience on a … [Read more...] about What I learned from my Skateboad Injury
Weight Loss Contest for the Summer
Tom Venuto sent me this article about a Weight Loss Contest for the Summer. Tom as you may know is the creator of Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle. For the last couple years in the late Spring he has been putting on a big loss contest for the summer. Weight loss contests, especially the Biggest Loser, where obese people drop insane amounts of body - like 10, 15 or even 20 lbs in a week - have become extremely popular. Many people say they get incredibly inspired and motivated watching these … [Read more...] about Weight Loss Contest for the Summer
Intro, Hello and lets see what we can do in 30 days
This is a weblog about feeling better, not just in the summer but all year round. I have been exercising and interested in diet and fitness for 20 years and have read far to much for myself not to be vane. I will go through 30 days of trying to have you improve your fitness by concentrating on improving your diet, your exercise and your attitude so that after 30 hopefully mostly pain free days you will have a much better and helthy body and mind. I will be trying to follow myself and be better … [Read more...] about Intro, Hello and lets see what we can do in 30 days
Fitness Tips on Facebook
I have added Fitness Tips on Facebook. We all know how popular Facebook is and I was not sure how I could integrate the fitness tips on Facebook as I am sure most people are not interested in reading my ramblings with people I went ot high school with years ago or the comments back and forth with co-workers. So I found a better way. http://www.fitnesstipsforlife.com/facebook Why Fitness Tips on Facebook? What I did was set up a new account on Facebook and this way if you "like" the facebook … [Read more...] about Fitness Tips on Facebook
Why I am Finished with the Biggest Loser
I have been watching the Biggest Loser since the first night of the first season. It has been a great ride and I have to say that I have learned a lot about struggles, a lot about morivations, and a whole lot about perseverance and seeing the effects of that perseverance. But I think I am finished with the Biggest Loser now. There are a lot of kind of negative reasons that I am leaving watching the Biggest Loser but I want to say first that this show is a great inspiration for lots of … [Read more...] about Why I am Finished with the Biggest Loser
Fitness Contest For This Summer
Tom Venuto of Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle has started a new Fitness / Body Transformation contest that will run for the next 90 days or so. Tom gave me this message to send out to all my readers and I thought you would find this interesting enough that maybe you would like to join. Here is the message straight from Tom (Sorry Tom tends to be a bit long winded, but informative always). Weight loss contests, especially the Biggest Loser, where obese people drop insane amounts of body - … [Read more...] about Fitness Contest For This Summer
Make 2010 Your Best Year Ever
As we get ready to usher in a new year and new decade I myself have looked back at my successes and am pretty happy with all of the positive changes that have happened over the last 10 years. It seems that many changes happen quickly and even though there are a lot of processes in our life that are gradual the real life changing ones seem to happen on a single decision. How has the last 10 years or last 1 year treated you? Are you happy with the changes? Over the last 10 years I have … [Read more...] about Make 2010 Your Best Year Ever
Blog Post of Interest Christmas Eve Edition
As you have probably noticed, I have not had much to say lately so today I do. I have decided to share with you what I have been reading about lately, well today anyway. All of these posts are from blogs that I like to read. Why cardio equipment is no good - Pail Plakas from X-Weighted gives good in depth info on why cardio, expecially treadmills are not as good as you think they are for burning calories. The best time to workout - Male Pattern Fitness has a fun article on when the best … [Read more...] about Blog Post of Interest Christmas Eve Edition
Don’t Touch That Chocolate
That is what my wife is saying this morning. Last night Halloween was a smash hit with the weather cooperating and lots of people dressing up their houses for all the ghoulish behavior that makes us all remember what it is like to be a kid and excited about free candy just for saying "Trick or Treat" This morning not so much though. The kids were a little wired on chocolate and had a bit of trouble getting to sleep last night and this morning my son (he is 6) keeps asking for more candy. Only … [Read more...] about Don’t Touch That Chocolate
1 year of Fitness Tips for Life
Last week, actually on Tuesday, Fitness Tips for Life celebrated it's 1 year anniversary as a blog. Originally when I came up with the idea of this blog it was supposed to just be 30 days of posts of what people could do to improve their health. I had a goal to help 100 people to improve their fitness and improve their lives. It looks like I have probably done that. Some of you may have been reading before as I had a fitness hobby blog connected to my family domain but on September 16th, 2007 … [Read more...] about 1 year of Fitness Tips for Life
New Fitness Tips For Life Poll
Last week I did a poll asking who you thought would be the best person to bring back for the Biggest Loser finale. The decision on the blog was that Mark should come back over Roger by 58% to 42%. Of course we all know now that they actually brought back Roger. This week I thought i would do a poll on loss and gain. I have been working on this blog for a few years now and either I am more interested in losing fat or gaining muscle and the posts reflect that. So the question this week … [Read more...] about New Fitness Tips For Life Poll
