So I finally saw the first episode of Losing It with Jillian Michaels. The series started this week and the shows run on Tuesdays and only for an hour. Now that we have finally seen the show here is the premise, We meet a family, Jillian goes in and moves in with this family and over one week she gets them exercising, eating right, and figures out what in the family dynamics is causing them to not be fulfilled as a family and as individuals.
First episode of Losing it with Jillian Michaels
So the first show was pretty good. The family were all getting ready for the daughters wedding and wanted to lose weight. At the same time they ate terribly, never exercised, the father and daughter had both had gastric bypass surgery in the past and emotionally they were all kind of a mess with unresolved emotional issues.
So of course Jillian takes them to the gym and yells at them.
Anyway in the end Jillian has the family open up to her and to each other about all of their problems and finds the root of the and emotional problems that each of the members of the family have.
In the end there is the daughters wedding and we see that all four, father, mother, daughter, and son look great and the show pays for the wedding and honeymoon.
You know, I am always shocked at what people eat. Sure these guys cleaned up their diet but before Jillian got hold of it they would have double or triple buttered mashed potatoes in a box and super fried meat and stuff like that…and they hated to eat any vegetables, who doesn’t like veggies? I have no idea how people can live any length of time with such a terrible diet
How do I feel about losing it with Jillian?
There was a lot that was nice and touching about Losing It with Jillian Michaels but in the end I think I am getting burned out with her character with all these episodes of the Biggest Loser and now this show. I know that Jillian means well and on the show we see a softer side of her as well which is great, you know she means well but for some reason it all felt a little too scripted for me.
My daughter and my wife liked the show a lot and I would hope that losing it with Jillian becomes popular, with all of the crappy self serving reality TV shows out there I really like to see something where people are striving to better themselves and those around them instead of always fighting and beating against each other.
