I got an email from one of the guys at the Discovery Channel telling me about Discovery Health’s National Body Challenge 2008, because it’s all about offering helpful tools for getting in shape. As you have seen in the past I have plugged all the TV shows that have to do with fitness from the Biggest Loser to X-Weighted to last 10 pounds Bootcamp.

Registration is totally free and includes an 8-week trial membership to Bally Total Fitness and online components, including over 1,000 recipes and tailored meal plans by Eating Well, a progress tracker, health tips from renowned experts Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. Pam Peeke, and a workout designed by fitness guru Gilad.

And for some inspiration, Discovery Health is airing two great TV specials.

Tonight at 8pm ET/PT, catch the last episode of “National Body Challenge: Twins,” which features 4 sets of over twins and working with Body Challenge trainers to achieve a healthier life. Check out the link below to watch some great clips from the show.


There’ll also be extra exclusive footage online and special live chats with the twins after the show.

Then tomorrow at the same time, check out Dr. Pam Peeke’s one-hour special “Fit to Live,” that explores the role physical fitness plays in helping humans survive life-or- death scenarios and begs the question, are you fit enough to survive a modern-day disaster?

  1. Certain foods react differently on different people, based on their blood type, not all people are alike. America is addicted to wheat and it is killing us. Wheat in the form of bread and pasta acts as a poison in the body for most people, which then puts the toxins into fat to protect itself. This fat can’t be used normally as energy. So we become fatter and fatter. Check out the book “The Paleo Diet” by Loren Cordain, and also “Eat Right for your Type” by Dr. Peter D’Adamo. Don’t give up, you have so much determination. You will make it, as soon as you find a life plan that is right for you as an individual. Just get healthy, both emotionally and physically. You can do it!!
