We all want to get in shape in a month and preferably quicker if we can, but is it possible? Today for me was the first day in a while that I rode my bike to work and I was thinking about one thing during my ride:
“What could I do to help as many people as possible get in shape starting this week?”
Well I tend to be a nice guy, I poke and prod here and there but I am not very aggressive in my emails in saying how critical it is to improve your health. Today I want to start to change that.
Do you know that Summer is almost here? Are you going to lose that 10 pounds of fat or gain that few pounds of muscle before Summer hits full swing? Do you really internalize the idea that every good thing that you do for your body today will make you healthier today and tomorrow?
Start today. Heck, start right now. Move forward to the life that you want to live and leave all of your excuses behind.
How Can I Get in Shape in a Month
Well there are only three steps to get started today.
First, is of course deciding what you want. I would say that you should write down your goals not for the year but for the next month instead. What do you really want by the middle of June? Do you want to lose weight, gain muscle, be more attractive? This is your goal for you. Make it an important one.
I find always that people will not create the right kind of goals, they will be vague or not time specific so they kind of know what they want but don’t really have an idea of what done looks like. If you don’t have a determined endpoint it makes it really hard to know if you are getting closer or not.
Next, I would make a plan I know that this can be a difficult part but you have to make a daily schedule that will turn into a habit. We all brush our teeth at the beginning and the end of the day and eat meals at predetermined times so why not start the next real habit and that is to do the important things.
Drink water before leaving for work, eating no grains or burgers, exercising first thing in the morning, taking some time to write in a gratitude journal, sleep 8 hours from 10-6, go for a walk at lunch, go for a bike ride every Saturday morning, these are all just a few examples but start with one or two that will get you closer to your goal above and then build on your success. This is not hard but it is difficult to change your schedule so look at the things that will get in the way and either stop that or fix that plan so that it can work for you.

And then finally visualization. I would urge you to start and finish everyday with a few minutes visualizing what you want in a month. What will it look like, feel like, sound like, smell like, and even taste like? This visualization is big because you have to fight all of those stupid thoughts in your head telling you that you can’t do it, to beat those thoughts out you need to see your future self not dwell on your past self.
This is all that this next month is going to take to make big changes for Summer. Imagine that you can make these changes, follow the steps, and you will be on the right road.
