One question that I get emailed about more than almost anything else lately is “How can I get on the Biggest Loser?”

I know that many people are interested in the show, after 7 or 8 seasons now people have seen so many success stories on the Biggest Loser that they can’t help but think that there is no way that they can lose the they want to lose without getting on the biggest loser.

I for one don’t believe that at all, no matter if you want to lose 20 in one month or lose 100 pounds in a year there are always ways to lose the without going on a TV show. Really! Believe it.

How to get on the Biggest Loser

Ok, now after that if you really want to know how to get on the Biggest Loser I have a plan that won’t guarantee anything but I think will improve your chances to get on the Biggest Loser.

Just to let you know, you need to be a resident of the US to get in. no Canadians or others allowed

Before you get started go to the Biggest Loser Casting page.  Click here for entry rules and procedure.

First of all, you have to fill out an application form at the NBC site and send in a video. As you can imagine there are quite a few people trying to get on the Biggest Loser and the only way that the people in the casting department can narrow down this huge list is by kicking people off the list or finding exceptional people.

The only way that you can be chosen for the Biggest Loser is to have an impressive application and video, there is no other way to make an impression.

Biggest Loser Application Tips

The application is long, 9 pages in fact so print out a couple of copies. Make one rough copy with lots of notes and give yourself at least a couple of days to really lay out what is important and what will be qualities that set you apart from everyone else trying to get on the Biggest Loser.

After you have filled out all the notes then get another copy of the application and print all the answers very clearly in the space provided. Keep your answers very clear and direct, do not use any unnecessary words, this is one of only two ways to impress those judges.

Biggest Loser Video Tips

The video that you make is going to be the real way of setting yourself apart from all of the other people trying to get on the Biggest Loser TV Show. Try to have the best production quality that you can.

As far as the length of video make sure that it is not any longer than 10 minutes. As you can imagine there are a lot of videos to get through and the people casting the Biggest Loser are going to only want to spend a few minutes and if they have not been caught by you by then they will move on to the next tape.

Make sure that your video is fairly closeup, you do not want to be too far away from the camera and no one should have to strain to hear what you have to say.

Try to be very upbeat, not like you are crazy but on the other hand, remember that they casters for the Biggest Loser are going to be looking for people that are fun and interesting to watch. If you are just heavy but will not draw in viewers then people will not want to tune into the show, so you will not be chosen.

Make sure you do wardrobe changes. Show the casting people on the Biggest Loser what you look like in a bathing suit, workout clothes, regular clothes and this way that will also get a feeling for what you are like.

Finally, let the viewers of your video know what you are like and why you should be on the show. which helps you to be very clear as to why you need to be on the show, your past successes and failures, your weight loss history and how you want to make the change for you and the people around you.

As you probably know that chances of getting on the Biggest Loser are slim but unlike a lottery they are going to pick 16 people every season so there is a chance if you present yourself well to actually get on the show.

  1. I am 43 years old and morbidly obese. Man, I feel like i’m in AA and standing up admitting something for the first time. When I was 37 I got sick with a disease that caused severe inflammation in my lungs. After 2 1/2 years of heavy steroids and other medications as well as 6 months of bedrest, and the inability to exercise I have put on a significant amount of . I am much better now with only a spot of scarring on my lung that is just the size of a quarter. My doctors say I can exercise now, but I have been too afraid to do anything that will cause me to be out of breath because I remember the feeling of not being able to catch my breath even while I was standing still or even sitting. I think my inability to lose this I’ve put on is due to a mental block more than anything. I don’t know how to even begin to overcome this. I think being on the Biggest Loser would help me to learn how to break through the mental block because I would be more comfortable stretching my lungs because there would be medical supervision as well. I am excited to get back to myself again and look forward to applying to this show. Even if I don’t get on, maybe just the process of applying will give me enough hope to move forward.

  2. My name is Amanda and I am 32 years old. I weigh 250 pounds. I was active and always an athlete in school. Several years ago I signed up to take diet pills because I was getting a little over. It messed up my metabolism and now I can’t lose . I had my daughter 4 years ago and during that time I put on more because of post partum depression. For a few years I just didn’t care. Now I am so frustrated I could scream. I try to start eating healthy and exercising, but I can’t ever stick with it. I need help.

      I am 36 and about 296lbs. I too was always active in school and for most of my life until; I too did the diet pill and child birth. I am just now trying to get back into a routine, or as my Doctor would say “life style change”. It is tough to get going, but I think everyday this will be the day I start the workouts again, this will be the day that I start eating better and this will be the day I can show my daughter that I can do whatever I set my mind too. I have started walking every day when she gets home from school, we go for a short or long walk depending on what she would like. Most of the time it is a few blocks, but with how out of shape I am at this point, these work great for me. I have already seen and felt better and it has only been a week.

  4. hey guys, don’t get too discourage if your diet didnt’ work. I combined a low carb high protein, high fiber diet with a nonline fitness program called workoutbuddyx.com, which is similar to P90X, but they have “beginner” levels for each workout, so I was actually able to complete the workouts. I’m on day 65, and went from 185 lbs to 164 lbs! It’s still a lot of hard work, but I was able to do it, and so can you! Good luck!

  5. i am 215lb and i am only 5foot 1inches tall i have been trying to lose waite for about four years and all that happens is it gose up and down i have a lot of pain because i am so heavy and i have had doctors tell me if i would lose waite that i would feel so much better i have tryed everything dite pills dite foods walking exersizing i dont no what eles to do so now i trun to you asking for your help so please biggest loser please help me

Hi, My name is Lisa im 46 and i wiegh 300 pounds. i have four kids that love me but with all this fat my knees hurt,back and im depession all the time i have to take a lot of pills for my depession. i was going to do the lapband.but my kids is afriad i would make it thru the surgery.i have tried every diet pill, watchers and nothing helped. i would love to get down on the floor to play with my new grandbaby but im to big. so i have turned to u to help me. im not in it for the money i jus want ur help to lose this wieght! i feel that if i can lose the than i can get off my meds and be happy again. if u are runnin a special for friends i have a friend that would like to come w me if not i am in and would love to be on ur show to get ur help! thank u!

    1. I am 5ft / 5in and 199lbs and have a few medical problem i would love to rid myself of. I’m not a quiter for sure and love the compentation. Just want a chance to do this wonderful program with people like me. What ever I love all of you and am so Proud of all of you except for the guys that walked off. Great men but did not read the contract they signed. Shame Shame Boys.

  10. No I wasn’t in the military as me E-mail states. I have a lot of family members in the Army. I support all armed forces. I am 255 pds. and 5’2 . I need to lose alot of wt. I would love to be chosen to be on the “Biggest Loser”. My husband has Cancer and has lost alot of wt. and I need to be stong to lift him. he is 6″3. I need to be able to take care of him. I also have high b/p . I need to get better and heathly by self to be there for him. I started gaining all this wt. at 25yrs. of age. I took care of my Mom when none of my brothers could or sister. She had CHF and other. I don’t blame her in any way or form. I loved her. But I never got to go out as a teenager to meet any boy friend so I could be thier for her. I didn’t marry till 33 yrs of age my Mom died at when I was 34 yrs of age and I bloomed up to 300 pds. So I need help to lose this wt. I pray and hope I get a chance so I can be there for him. I also hope for others that thier dreams may come true.

  12. I would like to be on the biggest looser. I am 62 yrs old.and have been trying to loose for over 30 years. i now have diebites, hi blood presser,and osteo. So It is hard for me. i don’t know how to exercise without getting hurt. I weigh 225 and I cannot live with myself. I need help.

  14. Hi my name is xhoan i’m 21 years old and i’m 250 pounds. I don’t care about if I don’t get in the show I just need some help to lose . Every time I try to do it on my own I would just get hurt and gain more on recovery. I have been to united states for over 12 years. it’s been about 4 years since I been to the beach. It’s hard to take my shirt off and I don’t like it when people call me fat ass. I’m a hard worker but the problem is by me staying home since 18 years old and not working it’s been hard it’s like all I can do is play games or eat sleep and watch TV.
