For many people losing 20 pounds in a month would be a dream. Put that dream right in front of you because I am saying that there are ways that you can lose 20 pounds in a month.
Increase your resting metabolism Now that you have a strategy to lose 20 pounds in a month so now you need the tactics that will make it a reality. You need radical changes to lose 5 pounds a week. Your tactics are the individual things that will make your dream work out for you. Eating Tactics to lose 20 poundsPlan your eating the day before – If you plan your eating the night before then you are not going to have to worry about getting into a struggle of eating these crappy foods and instead will know what you are going to eat when. Eat 5 or 6 small meals a day – This is going to help you to raise your metabolism. When you eat often you are sending a message to your body that you are not going to starve and that you will always have enough to eat. Eat lots of fiber – Fiber will increase metabolism and make you healthier by cleaning out toxins. Drink lots of water – Who cares what the so called experts say. Water makes your metabolsim faster and makes you feel great Exercise Tactics to lose 20 pounds in a monthExercise twice a day – One 20 minutes workout in the morning and another one in the evening. Do weights once every second day – Getting muscle will help your body burn more fat. The muscle takes a lot of calories to maintain while fat takes nearly none. Split your cardio workouts between high and low intensity – High intensity to burn a lot of carbs off and low intensity to finish of the fat hanging around Cardio is 20 minutes of hard cardio – Hard cardio is defined as keeping your heartrate up around 80% of your max. This will raise your metabolism for a long time 12 – 24 hours. Walking or casual exercise can be an hour long – This is a great way to burn fat as you can exercise low impact by walking for an hour. Weights should be basic exercises – Basic exercises are things like squats, bench presses, lunges, military presses. These exercises work a lot of muscle groups at once. Healing between workouts is most important – Now that you are working out it is a good idea to get a lot of rest and sleep so that your body can recover. Your body only recovers when you are sleeping or at least resting. There are no guarantees of course that you will lose 20 pounds in a month but just look at this plan of attack. Ugh thank GOD! Finally a site that doesn’t run off about how unhealthy it is and to lose weight at ease. Of course, it is correct that the greatest way to lose weight is to take it one step at a time, but I have a MAJOR event coming up in about a month and a half and I can’t afford to stick my toe in the cold pool. I need to sky ball drop in the water and lose 20 pounds in this time. I will follow this. Thank you. I am a person that is very good at following instructions and I finally found a post that describes how to do it perfectly, step by step, without the “this is stupid and unhealthy” nonsense.

to ‘How to get on the Biggest Loser’ …. you obviously did not read the article… it was not suggesting that you must go on the actual tv show to lose the 20 lbs in a month. Maybe if you read the whole thing instead of just assuming things, you would get something out of it. I am finding some of the advice very useful myself. Thanks.

I am not even 5ft tall, and 20 pounds to me is like 50 lbs to a taller person. It seems that only starving myself, was the only way to lose weight! I need to try this out! I am a mom , and need to keep up with mu active children , and the fat jokes seem to be getting tiresome! I will let you guys know, if this works! By the way, Its like torture to me, to drink lots and lots of water!!! Any advice on how to make it a bit more pleasant???

On the exercise I have a p.e. class that is 42 minutes and we have 2 fitness days 1 or 2 sport days and 1 or 2 weight room days…would that be ok? This looks really good I can’t wait to get started
I’m in Sin City too, SinCityMom….anyway, not sure if you’ll read this but try adding Crystal Light to your water. It helps give it some flavor. Or even squeeze some lemon into it.

THANK GOD!!!!! i was getting sick of all the kids at school calling me fat! im happy i found this website. doesnt seem too hard to do, seems even easier than pe =) im going to try this because just eatin tons of carrots and drinking 8 glasses of water a day wasnt hellping anything. i wasnt gaining weight then, but atleast now ill lose weight! =)
i weigh 175 pounds since the last time i checked and i am only 14. my goal is 130 pounds, so i guess about 2 months of this will be easy for me. and, of course, im going to keep it off, by excercising more ^.^ and i really do need to get my lazy butt of the computer, so yeah! im going to start planning my meals tonight! thank you soo much

Im 14 and is 145 almost 150 I think and it makes me feel like shit all the time I really want to lose my wight to lik 105 or 115 like I used to be when I had a six pack I miss it but now im terified to even take my shirt of and im asking for your help please please help me since I can’t afford it please just give me a shot I would do what ever you said with out complaining I would give a 110 percint full time just give me a chance thank you for considering helping me and please send me a messige
It’s amazing how many people don’t want to actually exercise. Proper diet AND exercise are needed for long term weight loss.
I have a pretty sedentary day at the office sitting behind the desk. I m going to try and run 20 mins day and evening followed by a few push ups and stretching. I m not sure about the weights as I dont have a gym around me. Be back in a week to let you guys know how much i lost!!!

I have lost 25 pounds in 1 month and a half. I am very happy with how I am now! But it was really hard to do so you really HAVE to do all the things on that list to lose any weight at all and belive in yourself that you really can do this! And you will be so happy with how you are after but you can’t give up in the middle or get discouraged. It took me 4 trys to finaly really commit to losing weight. GOOD LUCK!! I want to do this so badly, but how do I know what to eat? Do I eat what I usually do but in smaller portions? I’m still in school and alot of teachers won’t let me eat in there class so it’s difficult to find time to eat six meals a day. I want to lose this weight so bad, but I don’t know what to do about that.
Losing weight is all about committing. Listen, there are so many programs out there to lose weight and they all make a TON of cash from it. Not to say they don’t work but they know that so many people just give up. There is no “easy” way to lose weight. It is hard work plain and simple. If you do not work hard at it you will fail. It is proven that if you burn more calories than you consume you will lose weight. It does not matter if you eat cake or tofu. If you burn more calories than the cake is you will still lose weight. Of course you don’t want to eat cake for a living because it is not good for you. Sugar is not good for you. What is said here on this site is 100% true. Eat small and often, drink lots of water and excersise at least 3 times a week. Cardio and weights will burn way more than just cardio. Take walks every day for an hour. Do 20 minutes of hard cardio every day, stay active as much as possible. Losing the weight is HARD. A lot harder than putting it on. Don’t give up. Committing to doing this and losing the weight might be the hardest thing you will ever do. That is why so many people fail.
Hello, im a 10th grader, 172 pouns seems like 2 months ago I was just almost 160. Im 5″4.
Im WAY over weight, I think the stress o my move has gotten to me.
Im going to try and commit to doing the steps on this to reach my goal of 130/140.
My mom had a success storry of losingg over 50 pounds herself and is now down from a size 11 to a 6.
And for myself im a 13 & I want to be in atleast an 8.
So I can fell comfortable in the skin im in as well as enjoying buying a new pair of jeans!

ok, i have been trying to lose weight for sooo long now…… im 124 lbs and i want to be at least 100 lbs. in about a month. im only 13 so i dont want to push an adult diet soo what do i do please help me someone that knows what they are doing and has lost that much weight. Does Kellogg cereal really work ? I have been eating that for the last one week and switched to eating salads in the night.. Completely avoiding bread/ rice. But..when I excercise, I find the urge to eat carbs.. any comments?
this is a good guide, but i would up the cardio. I am on this journey right now myself, and i do about 1.5 hours of cardio. The machine says i burn 1750 calories, but that seems a little high. Anyway i just eat about two 500 calorie meals a day with a 250 calorie snack and i lose anywhere from .9 to 1.3 pounds a day. ** I am 5′9 and started at 190, but am not fat. I could bench 265 and all that stuff, so i really dont have a bunch of fat to lose easily.

this sounds like a good idea the only question i have is if it really works. i need to loose about 30 lbs because im a little overweight. i am 115-118 pounds and im in 7th grade. thats fine for me but since i am only 5″0 it looks really bad. i will try this and keep you guys updated. i have a feeling this is going to work!
I finally found a plan and I have a month in a half 2 do it I hope I can get through it!!!!!!!! But its really hard to eat right when I go out 2 eat any suggestions??? And its hard to get any workouts done when you have twin boys any suggestions???

I have noticed over the years now that I am getting older I am keeping the weight on. Whereas when I was younger I would burn the weight off much easier. I guess I was more active when younger. Also I am eating differently now that I am older.
As you mentioned exercising, I try to walk two miles each day. Sometimes I quit for a while for various reasons but eventually get back to my walking routine. It seems discipline does not come easy for me but realize it is necessary if I want to keep off that extra weight.
I like your thought on drinking right amount of water to increase my metabolism. I will seek to drink more water than what I have been doing. I learned something about fibre that it will not only increase my metabolism but cleanse out toxins, I never knew that before. Thanks for that tip.
I have a back condition and have to be careful how I lift weights but I also read somewhere that building your muscles will help burn off that fat. I certainly can lose that extra 20 pounds of fat and gain more muscle weight.
You mentioned eating smaller meals about 5 for 6 times a day. Right now I am eating two meals a day with about 3 times of snacks but my snacks probably are not the most healthy foods to eat. I will have to cut out on more of my sweets and replace with fruit or raw vegetables.
When you are younger you don’t have to be as concerned as when you are older. Well maybe I should have been more careful what I ate when I was younger and that may have helped me be in a better place than I am today. Nevertheless I need to just get at it and be faithfully walking, exercising and eating properly.

This is good information and I’m glad to know I’m already doing it. I’m currently about 300lbs. I want to join the Air Force Reserves by December or January. If I don’t do it then, I’ll be too old and cannot join. I’m 34 and this the oldest one can be to join. My schedule is working out twice a day and consuming no more than 1000 calories a day. The Air Force requires me to weigh about 220lbs to enlist for my height, so that leaves me shedding 20lbs a month! So far the 1000 calories a day has been great. I’m not hungry and i’m eating more vegetables and fruit. I am only eating about 3 times a day, but yesterday I did get hungry before lunch so I had a banana. Anyways, just wanted to leave my feedback.
Im 15 years old Im 5ft. 4in. and i weight 190 lbs the good thing is that i don’t know how but i run pretty fast so I think running will help with this program. hi i’m 15, i weigh 175, or 180 and i’m 5′8. thank god i can hold my weight well since people say that i look more like 150, but i still need to lose twenty pound in order to be at my goal weight and i think this could work. I have hated every moment in school after xmas because every girl was a perfect size and there was me just overweight and a bit podgy. Didn’t like it one bit .. but when i go back to the new year they will see a difference I hope.
I have 2weeks then im off on holidays then i have 2weeks when i get back before the new school year begins. Im at 140 and 5′3 13 years of age. Not good. But im going to make a success. Before i go on holidays ill post back on here to let you all know if its worked.

Thank you SO much! I’m 14 and have been trying to lose weight over the summer before school starts but it is soooo hard. I always have uncontrolable sugar cravings and eat all the wrong things even thought i know it’s not helping. I only have august left to start losing enough weight before i go to a new high school and I don’t want to be the chubby girl out of all the skinny girls. I’m not really that big, I’m 130 lbs at 5 4′, but I have really embarassing body fat which has lowered my self esteem and made me feel terrible about myself.
