How to lose 20 pounds – Eating Tactics

Plan your eating the day before – If you plan your eating the night before then you are not going to have to worry about getting into a struggle of eating these crappy foods and instead will know what you are going to eat when.

Eat 5 or 6 small meals a day – This is going to help you to raise your metabolism. When you eat often you are sending a message to your body that you are not going to starve and that you will always have enough to eat.

Have leftovers a lot to make it easier to eat good food – If you make giant helpings of meals then you will have lots of leftovers to choose from.

One of the problems that I always hear from people is that they are worried that if they have to eat really often then they will spend their whole life preparing meals. this is just not at all the case.

Eat meals that are small – One thing that drives me crazy is how we allow our bodies to waste food. It is hard to find a steak smaller than 8 ounces in a restaurant but did you know that your body has almost no way for digesting and using more than 4 ounces of that steak?

Eat lots of fiber – Fiber will increase metabolism and make you healthier by cleaning out toxins.

Drink lots of water – Who cares what the so called experts say. Water makes your metabolism faster and makes you feel great

How to lose 20 pounds – Exercise Tactics

Exercise twice a day – One 20 minutes workout in the morning and another one in the evening.

Do weights once every second day – Getting muscle will help your body burn more fat. The muscle takes a lot of calories to maintain while fat takes nearly none.

Split your cardio workouts between high and low intensity – High intensity to burn a lot of carbs off and low intensity to finish of the fat hanging around

Cardio is 20 minutes of hard cardio – Hard cardio is defined as keeping your heartrate up around 80% of your max. This will raise your metabolism for a long time 12 – 24 hours.

Walking or casual exercise can be an hour long – This is a great way to burn fat as you can exercise low impact by walking for an hour.

Weights should be basic exercises – Basic exercises are things like squats, bench presses, lunges, military presses. These exercises work a lot of muscle groups at once.

Healing between workouts is most important – Now that you are working out it is a good idea to get a lot of rest and sleep so that your body can recover. Your body only recovers when you are sleeping or at least resting.

Surgery Tactics

Obesity experts say the new techniques help fill a large gap in treatment options between lifestyle interventions—such as diet, exercise and weight-loss drugs—and bariatric surgery.

The most popular of the new approaches so far is the intragastric balloon, which has been used in Europe for years. It is inserted down the patient’s throat with an endoscope, then inflated in the stomach with saline to about the size of a grapefruit, leaving less room for food. After six months, the balloon is removed to minimize complications, with six more months weight-loss counseling.

Patients are advised for the first few days to consume only clear liquids to minimize nausea and other discomfort. Within a week, they can resume normal eating, but many say they quickly feel full.

There are no guarantees of course that you will lose 20 pounds in a month but just look at this plan of attack. Is this different than you are doing now? Are these new lifestyle changes possible for you? It is all up to you to see what radical changes that you can make in your life and what they will lead to. Good luck in your quest and at the very least you now know how to lose 20 pounds in a month.

  3. Iam a 17 year old guy and I really REALLY want to lose 20 pounds by July 9, when summer school starts… but dont know if I can….. Sometimes I wonder if its impossible or even ubhealthy. Anyway, Iam 5’8 and weigh 162lbs, I have NOOOOO muscle in my body, I have never worked out a day in my life volenteraly, only when Iam forced to, such as walking to school or walking somewhere needed, My day consists of me staying home, laying down in the sofa, no exercise what so ever, especially this past month since I stopped going to school [I have all the time in the world now and I dont do nothing!], and cutting myself from the outside world because of how I feel about myself. Not even going outside… Anyways i hope this works and Iam hoping an excercise such as boxing, which Iam considering will help!! I think its time for me to be active and stop with this low self-esteem… Iam a DUDE for gods sake!!!!!! SIX PACK HERE WE COME!!!!!!!

Since you really don’t have a lot of time for exercise you really should watch what you eat. Write down in a journal to see what are all of the bad foods that you are eating. I can give you a sample diet so that you can see some of the healthy foods that you should be eating.

The changes will seem tough in the beginning but you will get used to them in no time. This sample diet will help you burn fat in all the right places.

  5. I’m 23 5’5 and just found out I’m 174 pounds. I never really weighed myself because I didn’t want to focus on it but that I know how much I weigh. I’m really embarrassed by it. As silly as that sounds I feel stupid for letting myself go like that. I would like to lose 20-30 pounds and be able to wear a bikini for once in my life. I should be able to cut down on food but I don’t have much time to myself to exercise. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do?

  6. I’m Nadia and I’m 13 too. ;P I’m 5’3″ and 132 lbs. I’m just barely in the over category. I talked to my doctor about getting healthy and fit and shedding some pounds and he said my body could do with it. My ideal body (and yes my doctor approved this1!!) is 115 lbs.

I’m going to try this and I really realy hope it works!!!! <3

  11. Angie,

I know that loosing the extra post baby can seem tough. Try to change your diet by eating more frequently, 5 to 6 times a day. This will help change your metabolism so you can begin to loose .

  12. I’m 21 5’6 and weigh about 170 pounds. I had my son two years ago and I just can’t seem to lose that baby . It’s depressing to me because I was in such great shape when I was younger and I just can’t seem to lose that extra now.

  14. Daphne

I couldn’t have said it any better. Weight loss is really that simple, some people just make it seem harder than what it really is. If you put your mind to it……..the will come off.

  15. hi,

just eat right and workout correctly. Do it and keep it. It won’t never happen to fast, but it will happen. Be consistent. Never stop. Work hard and stay dedicated. Be satisfied until you get exactly what you want, and magic…. loss happens:)

  16. So… To those who say do not worry about your because you are too young let’s get real. Telling young girls not to worry about bow they look when they will comare themselves to today’s reality tv stars is farfetched. If you worry about how you look and your learn to be aware of what you do And what you eat throughout the day. Dieting is hard at young ages but reading the food label is not. Stay away from high fatty foods and eat from home as often as you can making a lunch to take to school instead of school food etc. Coming online to find tips from a bunch of people with a phD behind a comp screen will only lead to opinionated views and thoughts. So my suggestion on losing for you is to log what you eat by calories and notice how much you eat and when along with cardio done an approx calories burned to give yourself an idea of what you put into your body and wha is being used

  17. Some of you ladies are way to young to obsess with your so much. Worry about your inner beauty and if you do this, people will soon see this. That is what really counts.
