Fat Loss for Idiots is a site and diet that my wife had learned about from her stepmom. Initially I looked at the Fat Loss For Idiots website and saw that after clicking though a bunch of pages of information I found that the program was only $39.

As a fitness and health enthusiast I know that there are no easy ways out of  losing so when I first saw all of the hype around fat loss for idiots I was of course initially skeptical.   1. Hi! I signed in here about 2 weeks ago planning to start then but got derailed!!!!- started the beyond calories 10 day plan today and hoping for good results. Haven’t seen any posts about this plan of the diet so hope it works just as well as the 11 day plan. I will keep you posted.

  2. I started cycle #4 today. It’s my first shorter cycle. I’ve decided that I’ll start on Sunday and end on Friday, taking Saturday as a cheat day. I’ll see how it works for me.

    I’m also going to try my best to get an hours workout in each day this week and see how that impacts my loss. Nubodys called me last week with a free five day pass but I deferred because I was sick. I think I’ll call them and arrange to start it tomorrow. This week’s weather is supposed to be pretty crappy so having a nice warm gym to go to for my walk will be good. I’ve decided to add 2 twenty minute resistance band workouts to my week as well. While I’m glad I’m losing so quickly, my body, especially my back, needs a workout. I’m getting achy.

    So anyway, off on my walk right now. I’ll check in tomorrow.

  5. Third day of my cheating. I weighed in this morning just to make sure that I haven’t gained back all 6.5 lbs that I lost last time. I’m up 1.9 lbs, which is a decent number, especially since I don’t start my next cycle until tomorrow morning and I’m having a good day today. I hope I can bring that down by a bit. I’ll check back in tomorrow morning. 🙂

    Any diet plan which doesn’t hurt our internal organs or i can say body sytem is good enough to follow.

  7. Mike – It really does seem that those last few days don’t add anything to the overall loss so I think our idea to shorten the length of the cycles is a good one. Another benefit of it is that we won’t necessarily go crazy on our cheat days because we know that it won’t be too long before we have another one. I think even a weekly cycle would be awesome. Monday to friday on the diet then the weekend to cheat.

  8. Just finished cycle #3. I lost a total of 8 lbs on this cycle. I’m happy yes, but also a little disappointed. The last 4 day’s of the cycle I pretty much just maintained and did not lose any. Overall good results though.

    Janice – I think this next cycle I am kind of going to do like you. But I am going to do 5 days on the plan, then have a cheat day, followed by 6 days on the plan, then 2 more cheat days. Unless anyone can tell me why this would not be ok to do? Hope you are feeling better soon.

    Diane – hopefully you are able to follow up with another day of walking today. Interested to see if it helps much or not. At the least it probably makes you feel better though.

    Salena – 4.5 is not to bad. Bad would be no loss or gained. Everybody seems to put up pretty big numbers their first cycle. Keep it up and you will hit your goals.

  9. Okay — 143 yesterday morning and 143 this morning. The rain stopped yesterday, and the air was cool and crisp, so I walked the trail–2 miles, fast pace. It was nice.

  10. Happy Friday to all 🙂 The end of cycle 2, and three cheat days ahead. The results were not that good as the first cycle. I only lost 4.5. Very disappointing. I will say that I enjoy the food I am eating and don’t ever really feel like I am on a diet (except for the fruit day). Also, it’s more loss than I could expect from a plan such as watchers (I think 2 lbs a week is the average) and the food on this diet is of relatively low cost and high nutrition. I feel good about the water consumption and the protein. My daughter was only able to last for about 5 days…she wanted pizza and halloween candy too much. It takes a lot of will power for most of us, so the motivation has to be there 🙂
    I will restart on Monday. This time, I have generated foods that I like, the last 11 day plan had many items that I didn’t care for. I was trying to keep it as simple as possible to make food for both my daughter and I. This time, I am selecting foods satisfy me which will hopefully make a difference.

  11. Well. so much for today! haha I’m actually going to count yesterday and 6.5 lbs lost as the result of this cycle. Today is the first day of my cheat days. I’m too sick to care about eating right. I’m just sick enough to want to eat whatever I want! 🙂 I’m not off the wagon, just staying flexible.

    I’ll be starting another cycle (#4) on Sunday. Someone on here was saying that they only went to day 6 or 7 then started over… I wonder how that would work for me. In 7 days I lost 6.5 lbs. I don’t know how much more I would lose after that. I also find that the last few days are hard mentally to get through, especially the veggie day.

    Here’s what I’m going to try. I’m going to take the next 2 days off. I’ll try not to gain back 3 lbs. Then I’m going to start another cycle that will last 7 days, followed by 2 days of cheating. I think it might help me stay focused.

    Either way, I’m going to give it a try and see how it works. We all know its better than other programs regardless of how long it lasts. If I lose 6.5 lbs in a week flat on this diet and 1-2 lbs in a week on Weight Watchers… which one works better for me? 🙂 Even if I gain back 2 lbs like I did last time during my cheat days, I’ll still have lost 4.5 lbs in a week!!! There’s really no down side to this.

    Anyway, I’m heading to bed. This H1N1 has really taken the good out of me. I went for a small walk today and felt like a horse was sitting on my chest half way through. I’m just too tired. I’ll wait, get better, and then get back to it.

    Ok, so I had a disappointing morning. For some reason I weighed in at plus 1.1 lbs. It’s really confusing but I have to take into account that I’m very sick and haven’t been having normal days lately. I’m not going to freak out about it, I’m just going to enjoy my veggie day (yeah, I said enjoy it!) and see how my is tomorrow.

    As for it being veggie day, I’ve just made up my chili and, although it doesn’t look like a normal chili, it tastes great. All fresh foods went in so I know that my sodium won’t be a problem. I’ll be trying my refriend pinto beans wrap later. 🙂

  13. Diane – go for it!!! At this point in your loss I don’t think diet alone is going to get you the results you are looking for. And remember,with this plan you are targeting the fat burning zone. So all you should really need to do is walking at a brisk pace. On my treadmill that’s around 3.2 mph. I can relate to the weather issues. Up here in the pacific NW there are some beautiful places to walk outside. But with the amount of rain we get I just can’t do it year round. And the gym’s up here are so packed that I just said forget that and got myself a decent treadmill. Good luck!!

I would like to as they have a recipe thread that I found interesting although I don’t see how all the ones on there are necessarily diet compliant. I am just going to tell you that instead of the name fitness tips for life it is called calories per hour and then the forward slash then the word forums then another forward slash and the word forum 3 and another forward slash and the number 528 and a dot and html.   16. At 5 lbs loss and starting day 6. I think it is wonderful as I think almost every day I have had to go a little off plan. Last night went to hockey game. We were eating out so I coudn’t have the “right dinner” but had a fresh portobello and mozzarella salad. Then when I got home at 11 pm – I was starving! Usually in bed by that time so the sleep and distance keep me away from the frig, but I couldn’t resist. Spaghetti and meatballs were sitting there from when I made a new batch for DH. I tried to control, but I did eat a small plate worth. Was thrilled to see another 3/4 lbs gone this morning. Yeah!!!

    Diane, I will say this. I know it gets harder as you get down to the lower s or your ideal . And the salt does make a difference as far as retaining water. Hang in there! Keep it going, and although you won’t have the results that some of us that have more to lose do, you will have results. Remember the turtle won the race!

    Everyone, hope this morning you wake up with good results and feeling good. That is most important-getting healthy and feeling better. I know I shouldn’t watch the scale so much to measure success. And I agree that I know when I leave tomorrow for a business trip and have to go off plan that I hope I don’t gain the 5 lbs back. It would be nice to come home and start at the 5 lb loss level and resume. I guess I am going to have exercise and watch every morsel that goes into my mouth.

  17. Janice: You are not over-stepping at all. I appreciate the honesty or I would not post. And I appreciate all of you listening (or reading that is) my complaints. I don’t think I have an unhealthy view of myself. I just want to get off that last 10 or 15 lbs. I just need to find that kick–I thought this diet was IT, but I’m not so sure anymore. I started this diet to get it off for my son’s wedding. At that time I was about 149 (I had been 151, but had gotten a few lbs off on my own). I lost down to 136, but that was one day–really I was at about 138. I gained a little back with all the activity and travel I had after that, and I’m just not getting it back down. I want to do that perminently.
    Mike: Thanks for the suggestions, and I absolutely plan to get back on the treadmill TODAY. I used to have one in my house and I LOVED it. Now I have to go to the gym. We have a beautiful walking trail just by my house, but the weather has been so bad lately.

    So, I did take one new step yesterday. I measured my wine to be certain I didn’t go over 8 oz. — which is still technically more than the plan suggests (“one glass is really about 5 oz). This way I won’t over-indulge.
