Fast weight loss is no rocket science. You don’t need to buy fancy exercise gadgets or loads of diet pills to achieve your weight loss goal. To get rid of pounds quickly, you just need to do the right things and use the right tools. In this article I will give you three quick weight loss tips, which, if you follow religiously, will help you burn fat and lose weight faster.
These tips are evergreen and time-tested rather than based on the latest fads. Of course, just like any other weight loss plan, you won’t be able to see results until you take action.
Eat natural foods
The more natural foods you eat, the more natural your body will become. Processed foods contain loads of sugar and empty calories and therefore, they make you unnaturally fat. To lose fat quick, try to eat raw fruits and vegetables, lean chicken meat as well as whole grains. Stay away from calorie-rich junk foods. Your aim should be to buy foods that will supply your body with loads of nutrition in the form of protein, vitamins and minerals without making you fatter. Read the rest of this entry »

Yesterday I wrote a post about the 15 or so lifestyle changes that you need to make to lose 20 pounds in 1 month and coincidentally I believe Scott the Fit Bastard has written a post about how the lifestyle approach to fat loss is a bunch of crap.
I agree with a lot of what the Fit Bastard has to say but at the same time I think that he may be wrong as well.
The argument that Scott makes is that if you are making lifestyle changes it is a very weak way and a cop out to the intense training that he does to make changes in a short period of time, training that forces big changes.
Well Scott is already in great shape as you can see from the pics of him on his site.
The point that I made yesterday still stands. If you look forward to the fall TV season so that you can sit on the couch. If you crave drive thru. If you think that it was too hot out today so maybe you will exercise tomorrow, then you are not in need of a hardcore routine like Scott put himself through you need to dig to the core of your lifestyle and make those changes first. In losing weight, you have to keep several things in balance. This might sound difficult, but it is really quite natural. They are things you already do, like eating, activities, and socializing.
The only differences when you’re losing weight are little adjustments to your habits. Most of your habits are fine as they are – you probably already get some exercise just by going to work. Maybe a little more would be nice. As for your friends, the best ones will let you talk about the changes you’re making. If they’re not supportive, they weren’t friends in the first place! Out of all the changes you have to make to lose weight, the most important change is to your diet.
So how do you change your diet to lose weight? One thing most of us have heard about by now is to reduce the amount of food eaten. That is far from the only thing we can do, though. Just as important is to switch out some of the foods you eat for alternatives. When you do this it may help to know that proteins trigger your body to burn sugar and fat as fuel, while carbohydrates signal it to store them up in fat cells. Read the rest of this entry »

So many things in life are over-complicated. Why make losing weight one of them? It can be easier than you think. Most of the time you just have to watch what you let into your body and how you use your body. And it helps a lot to think about it in an unusual way.
What you put into your body: You don’t have to do heavy exercise, starve yourself, count calories or take dangerous pills. What your body really needs are the kinds and amounts of foods it was made to eat. You’ll be pretty safe if you avoid processed, high sugar, high fat foods and cut down on your portion sizes. You don’t have to make a science out of it. Think moderation – too much dieting doesn’t work any better than too many calories. Play it safe and avoid extremes.
How you use your body: Moderation is just as important for exercise as it is for food. If you feel a calling to be an athlete, then by all means go for it. Physical skills are fun to use, rewarding in their own right. But if you’re trying to burn off calories, remember that it takes a lot longer to burn calories off through exercise than it does to consume them in the first place. Read the rest of this entry »

Here are a couple of examples to show what can be achieved with simple changes in diet and exercise. Although generalizations on fitness improvement in fitness and fat loss are fairly unreliable, specific examples illustrate what certain individuals have accomplished.
Paul is a thirty-five-year-old self-employed certified public accountant. He has a wife and three preschool children. He works between ten and twelve hours a day five to six days a week.
In an effort to get started in business he has been working long hours for almost ten years. Now he is quite successful. When he graduated from college he was in excellent physical condition, having competed successfully in intramural sports. As the years went by he discovered that he was too tired at the end of the day to do anything other than collapse into an easy chair when he arrived home. Having once experienced fitness he decided to get back into shape. Usually this would be insufficient motivation for success, but in Paul’s case it worked. Read the rest of this entry »
